    Lancer of Light

"Servant Lancer, I wield the power of the God of Light. Master, let's make the most of this Partnership."

    Class: Lancer
    Alignment: Lawful/Good

    Height: 172cm
    Weight: 58kg
Likes: Board games, training, heroic tales

    Skills

    Class Skills

Magic Resistance(A): Cancel spells of A-Rank or below. In practice, the Servant is untouchable to modern magi, so it would not be an exaggeration to title the Servant a "Magus Killer".

    Personal Skills

Divine Core of the Light God(B): A Skill that expresses one being a perfected god of Light from birth. A composite Skill that comprises the Skill Divinity, as well as the several Authorities held by Lancer, such as War, Healing, Poetry, Kinghood, and more. As she is currently a Pseudo-Servant, this Skill is limited to rank B.

Charisma(A+): A composite Skill consisting of a person's charm as well as the natural talent to command or unify an army or country. At this point, it is no longer popularity or skill, but rather a kind of spell(curse)in itself. The great King of the Tuatha De Danann, Lancer's mere presence irradiates a shine that boosts the morale of her allies.

Multi-Reverse Punch(B): A Skill that belongs not to Lancer itself, but to the woman who serves as his vessel. A special style of Martial Arts that is employed together with the reinforcement of Armor Runes on her fists, arms, and legs. An overwhelming technique that she uses to drive the opponent into a corner and forcing them to use their trump card.

    Noble Phantasm

Gouging Sword of the War God
    Fragarach

    Rank: Anti-Unit, A

A Noble Phantasm that is the ultimate form of counterattack. It is the "Sword of Retrograde" and an indefeasible weapon of the gods, divinely protected by some malicious will, that works by using a conceptual curse to warp destiny and a divine trick that uses time as its blade.

It warps causality to always strike the opponent in the heart with a needle-thin concentrated blast right before they unleash their ultimate attack. The condition for its use is that the opponent must use their strongest attack, and Fragarach must be used directly after the enemy's strike.

Despite being released afterwards and no matter how fast the opposing attack is cast, Fragarach always strikes first by changing the flow of time to rewrite events so that it makes its own strike against the enemy before the opposing move was ever made in the course of the world.

Normally, it Lancer would only have possession of this Noble Phantasm as a Saber. However, because of the special trait possed by the vessel housing Lancer, an exception has occurred.

    The Five Roaring Stars
    Brionac

    Rank: Anti-Unit, Anti-group, A

The Sacred spear that belongs to Lancer, and one of the predecessors to the Crimson Spear that is used by the Child of Light. It is a powerful divine construct on the shape of a stark white spear of similar design to its successor, and can even be compared to the spear possed by the chief of the nordic gods.

Upon name release, Lancer will throw the spear to the sky. The weapon will break apart, becoming five streams of pure light that rain down on the enemies, piercing their cores. She can also use a variation that focuses all of the beams into a single target, throwing the spear straight. In that case, each beam will hit one weak spot: the head, the neck, the chest, the stomach, and the groins.

While Lancer had many weapons in life, including other powerful lances, this seems to have been their favorite. The vessel of the heroic spirit also seems to greatly enjoy this weapon, perhaps because of its connection to the Dog of Chulainn.

    Background

Lancer is the Divine Spirit Lugh, manifested as a Pseudo-Servant in the body of one Bazett Fraga Mcremitz. He one of the most prominent gods in Irish mythology. A member of the Tuatha Dé Danann, Lugh is portrayed as a warrior, a king, a master craftsman, and a savior. He is associated with skill and mastery in multiple disciplines, including the arts. He is also associated with oaths, truth, and the law, and therefore with rightful kingship.

In mythology, Lancer is the son of Cian and Ethniu(or Ethliu). He is the maternal grandson of the Fomorian tyrant Balor, whom Lancer kills in the Battle of Mag Tuired. His foster-father is the sea god Manannán and Lancer is also the father of the hero Cú Chulainn. Lugh has several magical possessions, and as such has aptitude for several Classes, but it seems that the Vessel has a preference for the Lancer Class.

There are many myths about Lancer, and it would take a long time to retell them all. Instead, let's just mention the favorite moment of both Heroic Spirit and vessel, which is the moment in the Ulster Cycle he fathered Cú Chulainn with the mortal maiden Deichtine. When Cúchulainn lay wounded after a grueling series of combats during the Táin Bó Cuailnge (Cattle Raid of Cooley), Lancer appeared and healed his wounds over a period of three days.

    Personality

The compatibility between Lancer and its Vessel was outstandingly high, and there is probably no other person as fit to house this Heroic Spirit. As such, the god of light is completely satisfied in just letting the human named Bazett have full control of his abilities, lending her his knowledge when they agree is necessary.

Bazett is a fairly serious, kind, and hardworking individual, who possesses a strong sense of justice. She can be short-tempered, yet still calculating. While she presents herself as a strong-willed and mature woman, in truth she is actually rather lonely.

She is immensely grateful for the trust that the Heroic Spirit possessing her has shown, and is determined to not let the god down. Apparently, her admiration of the hero Cu Chulainn is a trait shared with the Heroic Spirit, which is an extremely proud father to the point of "causing embarrassment" to his child.

Congratulations, foolish master, for you have summoned the monster that struck fear into the heart of England the likes of which not even Jack the Ripper can compete! I am Assassin, The Halifax Slasher, and the greatest agent of terror this world will ever know!

    Source
    Class: Assassin
    Other Classes: Caster
True Name: The Halifax SlasherClifford Edwards
    Alignment: Chaotic Evil
Place of Origin: Historical Fact (?)Halifax, England
    Height: 178 cm.
    Weight: 80 kilo.
Likes: Fear. The pain of others.Being left alone.
    Dislikes: Mobs.
    Natural Enemy: Humans
Catalyst: Articles about the Halifax Slasher or ones that make mention to Clifford Edwards.

    Parameters:
    STR: C
    END: C
    AGI: B
    MGI: D
    LCK: B
    NP: D

    Class Skills:
    Presence Concealment (EX):
In effect, this Skill acts akin to one of A+ rank with a unique difference. Should Assassin ever leave one’s sight, it will once more be as though he is under its effects, becoming completely undetectable and invisible until he takes another offensive action.

    Personal Skills:
    Monster of the People (A):
A being created from the minds of humans trying to cover their own deeds, Assassin represents humanity's urge to harm oneself. People who fail a mental check become prone to intentionally putting themselves in harm's way, self-harm, and blaming others for unfortunate acts of their own doing.

    Paranoia (A):
Having caused fear, hysteria, and mobbing just from twelve victims, Assassin is quite familiar with instilling paranoia in others and especially himself. On a failed mental check, those affected become convinced they are being followed, that everyone is out to get them, and that an attack is just around the corner. Combined with Assassin’s Presence Concealment and Noble Phantasm, they are utterly convinced they are in constant danger, those of weaker minds breaking down due to the strain.

The effects of this Skill persist even after Assassin has left an area and can last up to a week without further contact.

    Innocent Monster (B):
"What do you mean? Why would I ever have a Skill such as that? You must be horribly mistaken. ...I am saying to ignore it!"Having been accused and become a target of malice for the people’s fear and anger in the wake of the attacks, Assassin was perceived as the most likely candidate for the true identity of the Slasher until it was revealed to have never existed. This warping has caused him to take on the Slasher’s identity, the man he was before being completely wiped away to make way for the deranged “killer”.

Aptitude for Slaughter (Tools) (B):Aptitude for Slaughter (Tools) (False) (C):
Reported as using anything from mallets to knives to brass knuckles, Assassin has become able to inflict greater damage on humanoid targets through the use of close-range weapons. He has also gained a penchant for carrying them around inside his coat.

Though he never killed anyone during his crimes, Assassin assures everyone that he is perfectly willing and capable of doing so, to the point he could even be driven to do so should the issue be pressed.
Never using any tools during life to cause others harm, Assassin only obtains this Skill through Innocent Monster, giving him minor proficiency with them and advantage against humanoid targets when using them.

    Noble Phantasm
Monster Without a Name: Wound Without a Weapon (D)
    Anti-Unit
Assassin’s victims all say the same thing. “I was the one who did this to myself,” becoming both the victim and the perpetrator of their own wounds. This erasure of blame that makes up Assassin’s legend has crystallized itself into his only Noble Phantasm.

Whenever Assassin attacks an enemy, the method he did so and how they resulted in a wound or damage are completely obscured from his target. A powerful effect on the level of a Marble Phantasm impacts not the target that received the damage, but the knowledge of the world itself. As far as anyone who saw or received the damage is concerned, the wounded party inflicted it upon themselves even if Assassin is standing in front of them holding the bloody knife.

The most terrifying aspect of this effect is how it synergizes with his Skills, resulting in the appearance of people simply going mad and hurting themselves while speaking of an enemy that doesn’t seem to exist. Of course, while a mental check will do nothing, an ability that allows one to ignore the collective consciousness, such as those with reduced sanity, or those with a connection outside of it can avoid these effects altogether.

It is unknown how Assassin acquired such a disproportionately powerful Noble Phantasm considering his lesser fame.

    Lore
In 1838, The Halifax Slasher terrorized England for over a week, causing fear and paranoia to run rampant in the mad search for this elusive attacker. The man was never found, however, though they accused many people of being the Slasher. Fortunately, it eventually came to light that the Slasher was nothing more than a fantasy the first victim took up that other “victims” did as well. As the week came to a close, the fearful masses breathed a sigh of relief, safe in the knowledge that such a being never existed. Which begs the question…

    Who is Assassin?

“Are you dumb as well as deaf? I believe I’ve made it very clear who I am! I am the terror of Halifax, the embodiment of fear and hysteria! The unseen, unknown beast that lurks in the darkness! …My name?! How many times do I have to say it?! I am the Slasher!”
Clifford Edwards was a man that history would’ve forgotten if it weren’t for his becoming a footnote related to the attacks of the Halifax Slasher. After being accused of being the Slasher after reporting an attack, and even needing to be escorted home by the police, Clifford fell into a depression. All those people, their anger and vitriol, calling for his death when all he did was try to help ate away at him.

Even after the Slasher was revealed to be nothing more than a hoax, Clifford still felt them. The judging eyes upon him whenever he stepped outside. The hate hidden away behind amiable masks. The anticipation for him to once more become a target worthy of their hatred. It bored into his mind, leaving him a troubled, paranoid mess of a person unable to trust anyone or even go outside for fear of their glares.

Until one day when it was finally too much for him to handle, and Clifford Edwards left this world on his own terms, becoming just another victim of the Halifax Slasher.

    Personality
Assassin is a bombastic individual who makes his presence known whenever he can, going on about his deeds to the point of repetition due to how few of them there are. He comes off as a truly unstable individual who takes joy out of the discomfort and anger of others, letting them know how easily he could tear their lives apart if he so desired.

In combat, however, this boisterous attitude disappears, replaced by a quiet sadism as he simply walks up to his enemies before striking out at their vitals, only to slip out of their sight to do it again. Rather than with words, Assassin constantly taunts his targets with near fatal blows, waiting until their confusion, fear, and anger reach their peak before finishing them off.

Assassin is extremely touchy on the subject of his past, completely unwilling to divulge the details to anyone on the time before the attacks. Many believe he is simply embarrassed or spiteful on who he was before, but the truth of the matter is he simply can't remember anything beyond that point, nor can he remember anything afterward. His entire being, memories and all, only fall between November 16th to November 29th, a fact he desperately hides from everyone else for one reason.

The only thing Assassin fears is the fact that he might not have existed. Surely he did. Those people were just lying! They had to be! He was there just as he is here! He was real! He had to be! If he wasn't, then who is he? Why can't he remember anything! If he's not the Halifax Slasher, then...
    "Who am I?!!!"

"Oh, just ignore that. Really, it is nothing important at all. Did I ever tell you about my third victim? He was a large man..."

    Relationships

Jack the Ripper (Assassin): Jack the Ripper was nothing more than a little girl? *cackles* Well, who you are does not matter, as I have surpassed you!

Halifax 'Hali' Slasher (Caster): You! You are the one! You did this to me! *grabs her by her coat and lifts her off the ground* What did you do to me? Tell me now before I carve you open and... *carefully places her back on the ground, brushing away the wrinkles in her clothes* A slip of the tongue, you understand. I have not the slightest idea what came over me. You know, you remind me of my sixth victim. A woman by the name of... (he finishes his story before finally walking away)

Jack the Ripper (Berserker): Finally, a true killer! Unseen, unknown, and devoid of humanity! Shall we see which of us is superior?

Sasaki Kojirou: A ridiculous Skill given to someone who never existed. I should show you how a true killer fights!

Spring-heeled Jack: A relic of the past! I'm the true agent of terror, and I'll prove it!

Harry Strauss: A man after my own heart!

I am at awe at the recent sheets I've seen. El Dorado and the Halifaxsh-Slinging Slasher especially. El Dorado for that mighty gilded edifice he's built literally over himself (as well as the conceit of that Noble Phantasm, which should lend me some insight into my own Berserker sheet), and the Slasher for... for the memes, it turns out. Sorry, I can't turn off a certain rap battle in my mind.

    Archer of Hatred

"Congratulations, Master! You have summoned the greatest Archer! Yep, I am definitely the best!"

    Class: Archer
    Alignment: Neutral/Evil
    Region: China
    Height: 180cm
    Weight: 57kg
Likes: Peaches, alcohol, being the best
Dislikes: Hard work, moon cake, being the second-best
    Talent: Archery, backstabbing
    Armaments: Bow and Arrow
    Natural Enemy: Hou Yi, Chang'e

    Str: C
    End: C
    Agi: B
    Mna: E
    Lck: D
    NP: C

    Skills

    Class Skills

Magic Resistance(C): Cancel spells with a chant below two verses. Cannot defend against Magecraft on the level of High-Thaumaturgy and Greater Rituals.

Independent Action(B): The ability to remain independent even when rejecting, or being unable to receive a mana supply from the Master. It is possible for Archer to stay in the world for two days without a Master. However, this is the ideal value achieved by maximally conserving mana and avoiding battle and Noble Phantasm usage.

    Personal Skills

Clairvoyance(C): A skill representing one's Visual ability. A master of the bow, Archer's aim was second only to his Teacher's. Unfortunately, second was not enough.

Hatred of the Second Best(A): A Skill that only activates when Archer is fighting side by side with an ally of equal or greater power as him. It grants him a bonus to his strength and speed, in exchange for slowly draining his sanity. If this Skill remains active for long enough, there is a chance that Archer will turn against his allies.

Treacherous Action(B): A Skill that grants Archer bonus damage to any surprise attacks or otherwise dirty tricks he performs, with further extra damage to the target if they have previously believed Archer to be an ally. Unlike other skills dealing with surprise attacks, this one is more suited to spur of the moment impulses rather than calculated actions.

    Noble Phantasm

    Impulse of Heatred and Jealousy
    Taoshu Mujian

    Rank: Anti-Unit, C++

The weapon Archer used to kill his mentor. Should he be summoned as a Berserker, it would probably retain its original form of a club, but as an Archer, this Noble Phantasm manifests as a specially large arrow made from the wood of a peach tree.

Its effect is rather straight forward. The bigger the feeling of inferiority that Archer feels compared to his target, the stronger the arrow becomes. Once he releases it, it becomes a black bolt corrupted by his dark feelings that automatically seeks the target of his jealousy, not unlike a guided missile.

Because of the specifics of the arrow, it is useless if Archer doesn't have any or just weak feelings of inferiority. Furthermore, the arrow can only be used once per target, so Archer has to be careful about when and on who he uses it.

    Background

Archer is Feng Meng, a figure from Chinese Mythology closely associated with the divine archer Hou Yi. After his wife Chang'e consumed the Elixir of Immortality, Hou Yi realized that he would never again be immortal and would soon die. He resolved to pass his knowledge and skills of archery and hunting to the next generation to ensure that they would live after his death.

To do so, he decided to take an apprentice. This apprentice, Archer, soon became an expert just like his teacher. But even so, he was still envious of Hou Yi's superior abilities, especially after a fateful archery competition in which Hou Yi killed as many geese as Archer did with his archery despite having a far more difficult target.

In a fit of rage, Archer ended up using a stick made from a peach tree to bludgeon his master to death. Unlike many would come to think, it was not premeditated murder, but a spur of the moment action that was immediately followed by regret.

Other myths portray Archer as being the one who forced Chang'e to drink the Elixir by pursuing her, but he swears that he would never do something like this. If that is true or not, it remains to be seen.

    Personality

Archer is a laid back and relaxed person. He doesn't seem to care much about anything, and approaches every situation with the same snarky attitude and smile. However, the truth is that is an extremely insecure guy.

He has to be the best, or he doesn't know who he is. This usually leads to him developing a competitive streak, especially when confronted with someone of equal or greater skills than him. Although he will initially play that off as a friendly rivalry in a cool way, with time, Archer's anxieties will slowly eat him away until he snaps, attacking his rival with murderous intent.

His wish to the grail is simple. A fair Archery competition against his teacher, so that he finally has a chance to prove, without a shadow of a doubt, that he is the greatest Archer ever.

    Saber of Ironic Heroism
"Saber-class Servant, Lucian of Samosata, at your service! Rejoice, Master, for you have summoned Greece's mightiest hero! Now, let us be off! With the power of friendship by our side, we shall emerge victorious! ...Or something like that. As clichéd as it sounds, it's not bad for an introduction, although I feel like it needs a little more oomph into it."

    Source

"AHAHAHAH, this is comedy gold right here! Seriously, who would've thought the Grail would summon ME to play hero, of all people!? IT'S THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF THE POINT I TRIED TO MAKE IN MY NOVEL! Well, whatever, I'm not complaining. After all, when life presents you with hardships, the best middle finger you can give to life is to roll with it, laughing all the way!"

    Class: Saber
    Other Classes: Rider, Caster, Alter-Ego
    True Name: Lucian of Samosata
    Alignment: Chaotic Good
    Origin: Syria (2nd century AD)

    Parameters:

    STR: C
    END: C
    AGI: D
    MGI: B
    LCK: EX
    NP: B

Likes: satire, comedy, acting, doing things ironically
Dislikes: People who take life way too seriously, "heroes", mythology, pointless sacrifice
Talent: Writing satire and parodies, sarcasm, providing tongue-in-cheek criticism
    Natural Enemy: Philosophers, "heroes", life
    Armament: Sword
    Catalyst: His original drafts

    Class Skills
    Riding (C)

A Class Skill denoting the ability to ride mounts and vehicles. One can flawlessly manage beasts and vehicles if they have received the proper training and adjustments. Most vehicles and animals can be handled with above average skill. However, one cannot ride the likes of Phantasmal Species such as Monstrous Beasts. Having no actual experience riding anything of note, Saber only possesses this Skill due to his class container and the effects of Innocent Monster, which explains this Skill's subpar rank.

    Magic Resistance (C)

Grants protection against magical effects. Differing from the Resistance effect that merely rejects Magical Energy, this ability cancels the spells altogether. Cancel spells with a chant below two verses. Cannot defend against magecraft on the level of High-Thaumaturgy and Greater Rituals. Having little to no experience dabbling in magecraft, Saber only possesses this Skill due to his class container and the effects of Innocent Monster, which explains this Skill's subpar rank.

    Personal Skills
    Innocent Monster (A+)

An attribute possessed by Servants whose true history and existence have been distorted by the monstrous reputations and gossips they accrued across the course of their life and thereafter, without concern for the actual person's will or appearance. As a consequence, the Servant's abilities and appearance have been rendered to conform to the specifications of their legend. Saber's Saint Graph has been influenced by his most famous work, transforming him into "the ideal hero" which he jokingly satirized in life. Incidentally, his form as the "ideal hero" is also influenced by the location where he is summoned; for example, being summoned in Europe would grant him the appearance of a noble knight, while being summoned in Japan would make him appear as a samurai. However, these changes are strictly limited to physical appearance and does not confer to him the combat capabilities associated with them. His mind is also completely unaffected by this Skill, much to his displeasure.

    Heroic Great Principles (Ironic) (A)

A set of rules that a mighty hero of legend must always follow, ranging from noble values such as "protect the weak", "fight honorably", and "smile in the face of adversity", to seemingly pointless rules such as "loudly shout the name of your ultimate attack before you use it". As long as Saber carries himself with these rules in mind, this Skill greatly reinforces his combat capabilities, granting him the benefits of several other Skills commonly associated with "heroes" such as Swordsmanship, Tactics, and Charisma. That said, since Saber does this whole thing "ironically", these values aren't something genuinely instilled within him. This causes a crippling demerit where all of this Skill's effects (as well as his other Skill, Fortuitous Path) would be temporarily sealed whenever he "fails to conduct himself as a hero", stripping him of most of his power.

    Satirization (EX)

Saber's greatest Skill not as a hero, but as an author. Known as one of history's earliest satirists, Saber frequently mocked philosophers, cult leaders, and fellow authors alike, deconstructing their ideas and spitting on centuries-old values. As a Skill, Saber's mere presence causes other Noble Phantasms within his vicinity to rapidly lose power and transform into a mocking, sarcastic, even comedic imitations of themselves. In maximum effect, legendary sacred swords would turn into flabby rubber swords, unbreakable spears would have the durability of a wooden chopstick, and powerful laser beams would become harmless light shows.

    Fortuitous Path (EX)

A Skill necessary for any hero to have, the "true essence of heroism": luck (Honor? Chivalry? What even are those?). A cheat Skill that grants Saber the benefits of Plot Armor™ itself, the Skill seemingly alters the world to boost Saber's luck parameter to insane levels. Saber may occasionally come across important information, persons of interest, and other fortuitous occurrences simply by "being there at the right moment". In combat, this Skill doesn't entirely protect Saber from damage (after all, even a hero needs to get hurt every once in a while). However, it protects him from potentially lethal injuries, oftentimes through insane levels of bullshittery; guns would jam at the last minute, arrows would inexplicably curve midair, and attacks with 99.9% accuracy rate would somehow miss.

A True Story, Saber's greatest satirical work. The story mocks outlandish tales that had been reported in ancient sources, particularly those that presented fantastic or mythical events as if they were true. The story repeatedly took the reader's expectations and turned them upside-down, using their usual genre-savviness on the topic of mythology and superstition against them. Summoned as a Saber, this concept embodies his sword, creating "the perfect, unpredictable, unblockable attack". Upon its activation, the sword releases a glorious golden light before Saber unleashes that light as a powerful wave of destruction. While this Noble Phantasm may appear simple enough, those who saw the sword's brilliant glow will have trouble comprehending it. Their minds will erratically think about "all the possible effects a sword Noble Phantasm could have and how to counter them"; does it have a sure-hit effect? can it shatter barriers? reverse cause and effect? rewrite universal laws? cause instant death upon contact? and so on. Unable to comprehend the truth, their minds would instead assume the simplest possible conclusion when confronted with all these possibilities, namely "the sword possesses all of these qualities". Nonetheless, the information overload is so great that by the time the attack hits, the targets could only stand motionlessly as they try and fail to devise countermeasures in their heads. Of course, the truth is much simpler than that. This Noble Phantasm really is just a generic sword-beam with no special characteristics whatsoever. Its basis? "Well, most Sabers have sword-beams, so why shouldn't I have one? Don't think too hard about it", Saber would say with a mildly irritated look on his face. Incidentally, after receiving knowledge from the Grail, Saber decided to take his satire four steps further and unofficially rename this Noble Phantasm "Durengramscalibolg: Unbroken Sword of Promised Piercing Ruin".

This Noble Phantasm also possesses a passive effect similar to Evaporation of Sanity that stretches people's suspension of disbelief to the absolute maximum while in Saber's vicinity, spreading his "don't think too hard about it" mentality to the masses. These people will gradually have trouble differentiating between the mundane and the amazing. At maximum effect, most humans could see Servants, heroes of legends, fighting in broad daylight and think something like "oh, the neighbor's kids are fighting again, boys will be boys". These people would also be more prone towards reckless, thoughtless actions due to their inability to comprehend the magnitude of said actions (for example, stabbing your annoying neighbor would feel no different than shopping for groceries in your boring, everyday life). In that sense, it can be said that humanity's collective IQ would drop by several points just by being in Saber's presence alone.

All Will Be Revealed in the Next Episode
    Vera Sequela

In his novel, Saber fought mythical beasts, met legendary heroes, and discovered far-off lands. The novel ends abruptly on a cliffhanger promising that even more amazing tales will be revealed in the upcoming sequels... which was never written, something one disappointed fan claimed as "the biggest lie of them all".

Saber's second Noble Phantasm, representing the conceptual ability to "leave others hanging". A constantly active Noble Phantasm taking the form of Saber's armor. As long as he dons the armor, his Skills and parameters will be obscured from enemies, and they would constantly feel that there is more to Saber than meets the eye. They would feel as if Saber only fought with a tiny fraction of his power, constantly holding back for some unknown reason. These thoughts would endlessly gnaw at the back of their minds, making them unnaturally wary and terrified of Saber's yet-to-be-revealed true power. Of course, the truth is that Saber could fight with every last ounce of his strength and others would still think that he's still hiding his ultimate trump card, just waiting to be revealed in the next battle. All in all, Saber uses this Noble Phantasm as an intimidation tactic, by boasting lines such as "I only need 2% of my true power to defeat you".

Saber also claims that by releasing this Noble Phantasm's True Name, he could conjure a second sword, an EX+++ rank Anti-World Noble Phantasm with power over 100 times mightier than his first Noble Phantasm. Of course, this is essentially an instant-win button that can destroy any enemy (and the entire world along with it) in one hit. Knowing that, how come no one ever saw him unleash even a tiny fraction of this Noble Phantasm's true power? Well, he has his own reasons... which will be revealed in the next episode.

    Description
Saber's True Name is Lucian of Samosata, a legendary Greek hero and adventurer. Hm? You never heard of him? Seriously? Well, point is, he's a legendary hero who most definitely existed at some point in time. Saber is a perfect shounen protagonist who believes in the power of friendship, honor, and all that is good in the world. He's prone to saying cheesy, extremely clichéd lines such as "HOLD IT RIGHT THERE, DASTARDLY VILLAIN!" and "YOU'LL NEVER GET AWAY WITH THIS!" while assuming heroic (read: odd and overexaggerated) poses. That said, beyond his affinity for goodness, he doesn't seem to have much else going for him. Truly, an overpowered, plot-armored shounen mc with the personality of a cardboard.Saber's True Name is Lucian of Samosata, a Syrian satirist, novelist, and rhetorician known for his tongue-in-cheek style of writing with which he frequently ridiculed superstition, religious practices, and belief in the paranormal. A carefree, easygoing young man, Saber is the type of person who does everything in a comically serious, exaggerated manner. He frequently tells obvious lies and harshly sarcastic remarks if it means he could better get his point across, with no regard for tact. After all, what are they going to do if they don't like his criticisms? hit him? As long as he frames that criticism in a "heroic" manner, he's still a completely unbeatable, invincible hero.

While Saber was initially displeased at the prospect of being summoned as the one thing he hates most, he quickly learned to roll with it. He claims that this is the same way he dealt with inconveniences throughout his life; by doing things "ironically" to the point no one is actually sure whether he actually loves or hates said inconvenience anymore. Ask him to eat food he doesn't like? He'll ask for seconds just to savor the taste more. Ask him to do some boring menial chore? He'll do it so well that he would earn the title "CEO of X menial task" with ease. Summon him as a hero? He'll become the greatest hero there ever was. His motto is "When life gives you lemons, furiously make the best damn lemonade you can as a giant middle finger to life".

If there's one thing that could make Saber break character from his usual "heroic" bravado, it would be people who would willingly throw away their lives for something they perceive as "heroism". While Saber does not hate mythological heroes in itself, he hates how their legends would glorify wars, tragedy, and pointless sacrifices as something "heroic". To him, these values introduced in their legends are dangerous and can only bring misery to the whoever survives the tale. To some extent, this may be the reason why he doesn't mind taking this form as a Servant, a manifestation of a feel-good shounen epic where no one dies, good will always triumph over evil without any effort, tragedy is nonexistent, and absolutely nothing of value is lost. Of course, Saber is aware that his ideals are unrealistic, and life does not always turn out the way he wants it to be. Even so, he insists that everyone should try to enjoy life to the fullest, and to do so, they should work together to realize this dream.

    Lore
    Lucian of Samosata

Lucian of Samosata (c. 125 – after 180) was a Syrian satirist and rhetorician who is best known for his characteristic tongue-in-cheek style, with which he frequently ridiculed superstition, religious practices, and belief in the paranormal. Although his native language was probably Syriac, all of his works were written entirely in Ancient Greek and translated into Latin. Everything that is known about Lucian's life comes from his own writings, which are often difficult to interpret because of his extensive use of sarcasm. According to his oration The Dream, he was the son of a lower middle class family from the village of Samosata along the banks of the Euphrates in the remote Roman province of Syria. As a young man, he was apprenticed to his uncle to become a sculptor, but, after a failed attempt at sculpting, he ran away to pursue an education in Ionia. He may have become a travelling lecturer and visited universities throughout the Roman Empire. After acquiring fame and wealth through his teaching, Lucian finally settled down in Athens for a decade, during which he wrote most of his extant works. In his fifties, he may have been appointed as a highly paid government official in Egypt, after which point he disappears from the historical record. Lucian often ridiculed public figures, such as the Cynic philosopher Peregrinus Proteus in his letter The Passing of Peregrinus and the fraudulent oracle Alexander of Abonoteichus in his treatise Alexander the False Prophet. Lucian's treatise On the Syrian Goddess satirizes cultural distinctions between Greeks and Syrians and is the main source of information about the cult of Atargatis.

    A True Story

Lucian's most famous satirical work, parodying numerous outlandish tales that had been reported in ancient sources, particularly those that presented fantastic or mythical events as if they were true. It is the earliest known work of fiction to include travel to outer space, alien lifeforms, and interplanetary warfare. It has been described as "the first known text that could be called science fiction". However, the work does not fit into typical literary genres: its multilayered plot and its characters have been interpreted as belonging to science fiction, fantasy, satire or parody, and have been the subjects of scholarly debate.

The novel begins with an explanation that the story is not at all "true", and that everything in it is a complete and utter lie. The narrative begins with Lucian and his fellow travelers journeying out past the Pillars of Heracles. Blown off course by a storm, they come to an island with a river of wine filled with fish and bears, a marker indicating that Heracles and Dionysus have traveled to this point, and trees that look like women. Shortly after leaving the island, they are caught up by a whirlwind and taken to the Moon, where they find themselves embroiled in a full-scale war between the king of the Moon and the king of the Sun over colonization of the Morning Star. Both armies include bizarre hybrid lifeforms. The armies of the Sun win the war by clouding over the Moon and blocking out the Sun's light. Both parties then come to a peace agreement. Lucian then describes life on the Moon and how it is different from life on Earth.

After returning to Earth, the adventurers are swallowed by a 200-mile-long (320 km) whale, in whose belly they discover a variety of fish people, against whom they wage war and triumph. They kill the whale by starting a bonfire and escape by propping its mouth open. Next, they encounter a sea of milk, an island of cheese, and the Island of the Blessed. There, Lucian meets the heroes of the Trojan War, other mythical men and animals, as well as Homer and Pythagoras. They find sinners being punished, the worst of them being the ones who had written books with lies and fantasies, including Herodotus and Ctesias. After leaving the Island of the Blessed, they deliver a letter to Calypso given to them by Odysseus explaining that he wishes he had stayed with her so he could have lived eternally. They then discover a chasm in the ocean, but eventually sail around it, discover a far-off continent and decide to explore it. The book ends abruptly with Lucian stating that their future adventures will be described in the upcoming sequels, a promise which one disappointed fan described as "the biggest lie of all".

    Relationships
Heroes related to the Trojan War:
"Ayy, if it isn't you guys! Fancy meeting you again! It's me, you know, uh... that guy from that time in that place. Remember me yet? Eh? Eh? *winkwinknudgenudge* come on, don't leave me hanging here..."

    Odysseus:
"Hm? You don't want eternal life, and you would rather spend time with your wife and son at home instead? I see, my apologies, I can certainly see where you're coming from. Ah, war really did take everything from you, did it?"

    Ben Jonson, Hans Christian Andersen:
"Man, these guys are the best! I could spend hours with them discussing literature and pointing out all the stupid, outdated clichés plaguing it for the last few hundred years or so!"

William Shakespeare, Franz Kafka, Osamu Dazai:
"Jeez, don't you think human history had its fair share of tragedies already? You can't drown in sorrows forever, you know. Maybe you should try writing comedy, once in a while."

    Johann Adam Weishaupt:
"So you tried to bring down the old gods by... creating a cult? Er, isn't that kind of... counterproductive?"

    EMIYA (Archer), EMIYA (Assassin):
"Sure, sign up for an eternity's worth of dead-end, unpaid labor in pursuit of some warped idea of heroism you just can't let go, what could possibly go wrong with that? I get that the Counter Force can be a bitch, but damn, I wonder if it's worth it..."

    Sieg, Shirou Emiya:
"Remember kids; blind heroism is a big no-no! Don't throw your lives away so readily, no matter who tries to tell you otherwise. Grow up, explore the world, do the things you like, maybe settle down and build a loving family... the world has so much to offer, and it'd be a shame to miss out on them just because of some pointless war."

    Creator's Notes/Fun Facts
Please don't take this sheet too seriously. I finished all of this in a few hours, and I'm pretty sure that's what Lucian would have wanted as well. Also don't forget to click on the description section to see his real personality, if you haven't.

    - Does he seem absurdly busted to you? Wanked to heaven and back? Too many As and EXes? Well, that's... kind of the point of his character. He can become an invincible, undefeatable hero as long as he plays the part, but the second he drops the act, revealing his true feelings and assuming the identity of "Lucian the satirist" instead of "Lucian the hero", he loses most of his powers and becomes nothing more than your average guy with a sword, which he's not even proficient in using.

    - While his Saber and Rider form is him playing the part of "the perfect hero/main character", his Caster version would most likely be a Halloween alt where he parodies stereotypical DnD bards/warlocks instead ("I ROLLED A NAT 20 ON MAGECRAFT! I USE AN ANTI-PLANET, ANTI-WORLD, AND ANTI-HUMANITY SPELL TO KILL ALL ENEMIES IN ONE HIT!")

    - Reading A True Story, Lucian sounds like a guy who said "screw it" and crammed every single possible cliché into his book just to point out how stupid they all look like. It's one of those works where you just gotta turn your brain off and enjoy the show. Then again, in a way, his efforts backfired; instead of realizing how stupid their myths and legends sounded, the book just made him rich and famous.

    - In a similar vein, it's nice to turn my brain off and write a complete joke sheet once in a while. What kind of stupidly generic, overpowered shounen trope am I going to put into this guy? All of them.

    - In a more serious setting, I could see him as a Crypter's Servant in a Lostbelt where his wildest dreams exist as reality; an extremely straightforward, simplistic feel-good fantasy where humans could never know misery, one where sadness, tragedy, and pointless sacrifices are nonexistent, and justice will always prevail effortlessly. In this world, he would effectively be considered as a "hero" of the Lostbelt, meaning he could freely fight Chaldea with his bullshit powers without being considered anything less than heroic and having his powers stripped.

Lucian: I hate him. I love him. I love to hate him (as a representation of the extremely bland noble hero. As a person, I'm all for him). He represents everything that I hate about heroic stories, and I love that that's the point he's making. It's just so much fun to read through this sheet about this guy who I can get behind to an extent. I just imagine him constantly speaking and playing it up for a non-existent audience. He's great and a great Servant.

Of course, my first thought was on how to kill him, which sounds as easy as making him break character. Thing is, with this guy's devotion to ironic heroism, it would take quite a bit of planning in its own right, especially while under the effects of his second NP. Honestly, the best way to kill him would just be to have the master or some random person come up and stab him. Even if they are attacking him, hurting someone so much weaker than him isn't very "heroic", especially if it's the second option and they're mind-controlled, making them an innocent victim. Other methods include waiting until stopping his attack is impossible and telling him you surrender, as attacking someone who already gave up isn't "heroic" either. I'm sure there are other methods, but that's where my mind went.
"Ah! My one weakness! Being stabbed!"

*Enemy tries to stab him from behind and somehow comically slips on a banana peel that was definitely there the whole time*

Lucian: "Whoops, are you okay there? You should watch where you're going so you don't slip on this randomly-placed-yet-oddly-inconspicuous-looking-banana-peel here! Oh, and be careful handling that knife! You could definitely hurt someone with it if you're not careful! So as the noble hero that I am, I'm confiscating this knife to prevent people potentially getting hurt! Have a nice day, random citizen! Ahaha!"

Wait, I thought Kaguyahime was the first work of fiction that survives to this day that depicts some science fiction tropes?

Oh my, I learned something today. Sweet.

did you catch up with the recent sheets? Many good ones in the last few weeks
You honor me! But please, I just like to give more incentive for people to post their craft because it's always a pleasant surprise to see what they come up with. But seriously, thanks a lot Rey
And I'm still trying to catch up to the older sheets, actually... Shame on me, I haven't been able to read much lately. BUT I'LL MAKE UP FOR THAT WITH SOME NEW COMMENTS.

"The Halifax Slasher": *chef kiss* Gosh I love this concept. The sheet is a very good read and everything just kinda clicks, you know? And merely by accident I discovered that there was an actual person behind the lore this time... A good easter egg for those who keep their hands in their cursor hahaha. But seriously! I liked both of your renditions of this figure, you really milked it for all its worth.

Feng Meng: I liked very much the "this man sucks" quality that emanates from this sheet. It's such an interesting figure that gets overshadowed by the much more likeable Hou Yi or even his wife by proxy. I think that you managed to make a footnote of a character to become a quite decent Servant considering the fleshing out you had to do. A well done job indeed, man!

Lucian of Samosata: I want to live in this sheet, I can't possibly think of a greater praise than this. So fun to read! Such a good figure to booth. Your sheets are always a wild ride and this ain't an excepction... I think that merely for that charming quality of an "everyday-hero" and the way you presented this dude it deserves a place in my favorite Servants that came from you.

Wait. You don't compulsively drag your cursor slowly across every line of text in case they decided to throw in something weirdhidden? Shoot, I thought everyone did! I'm a freakgenius!

After I posted Hali, the thought of the Assassin form just kept bouncingbonking around inside my head. What would that look like? As it happens, probably what people were expecting from my original go atdebut of the Slasher. Still, I like to think I put my own spin oninsanity in him.

A few ideas, but nothing really written yet. I typically just wait to be struck by something. However, studying for Mr. Zombie did point me to one I'd be interested in making.

Not really. The only mage characters I've made are for stories. The only ones I'd post would probably be Shinya Kaburu and Wolfgang Anderson, but Shinya's backstory is basically a spoiler of major plot points for the story he's in and Wolfgang just needs to be more fleshed out. Basically, I don't think mage creation is something I'll be posting.
