True, but some classes really you have to stretch them to fit in them or if you put them in that class it means you may have to make concessions you may not want to (ie. by making a writer a caster class servant you pretty much have to give them a magic related stuff even if you don't really want to, and as for beasts/monsters there really aren't many good classes for that).
Plus really some of these classes while superfluous are really no worse than some more modern classes. The original idea of class containers was that "a class container fits a role" kinda like basically a list of actors in a play, you have you main hero, your side heroes, you antagonists, and different archetypes about them; the guy with a spear or gun, the guy/gal with a bow, the knight with the sword, the mad warrior, the knight on horseback, the spellcaster, the assassin. Ruler was a slight exception in that their role was monitoring the grail war and avengers role was one who seeks revenge.
My problem is that ever since ruler even-typemoon has played it a little fast and loose with making classes even if they really don't serve much of a purpose in terms of the role kinda thing (with some of the worst of this being FGO [really Ancient God/Ruler and Ancient Giant aren't even roles if anything they are descriptors for the beings which have those classes and you could have just made them Ruler and Saber/berserker respectively [and just modify their weaknesses and such as if they were a beast class foe]]. At the end of the day though really, just cause I don't like them does mean someone can't make good use of them
Since I haven't said it yet, good job.
I feel like I'm missing a joke here.
I mean my classes and all work involved with them ends tomorrow, so I could get started on a Brawler class servant (as I feel it is the most broad of the "unarmed-melee" classes and thus allows for the most possible servants in it) like James Figg or Donald McBane and I'm pretty sure others like Mordred (based on her fighting style and attitude), Beowulf (based on his fighting style and NP), Heracles, and a fair few others could fit in the class if anyone wants to take them.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also couldn't saber already use an axe* (I know the class is called Saber, but I can't see why they couldn't have an axe NP so long as they also had a sword, I mean Enkidu is a lancer and the oney reason for that is that his NP is loosely spear shaped [otherwise he would probably be more of an archer or a berserker class servant]) so long as they were good at using a sword I think saber implied that she might be using a axe or something other than a sword fighting Cu.
* also it occurred to me you could totally make an archer class servant who uses axes, just make the axes hatchets and have him be bale to throw them with a fair amount of range and accuracy and you have a mid-close range archer who uses axes (plus Royd also has a point where for large double handed battle-axes they arguably could be considered little different from most pole arm weapons at that point**).
** which at this point has any pole arm use had something like a halberd (aside from Lu Bu's god force)
a bardiche
or a voulge
Or has it just been all spears and lances at this point?
