dude, i know people joke about it, but you should not just literally just copy and past the wiki article on your lore section. It is full of junk like random numbers and broken links, so maybe clean it a little. A bit more development for his personality whould also be good, those two entire sections just for four lines of text seem like a waste of potential.

I added the remaining story part and relationships, and put a little tweak in Noble Phantasm 2. Thx for the critic.

Hello! I've been lurking the CaS threads for quite a while and decided to finally make my debut~ And what better way to do it than my first try at an Avenger? Had a bit of help from fellows more experienced than I in making this and I'm pretty satisfied with the outcome.

After a series of misfortunate events that influenced his upbringing, Kullervo finally achieved his vengeance at the cost of everything dear to him. Because the weight of his people's grudges along with the sins he had committed against his surviving family were too heavy of a weight to bear, Kullervo had resolved to end his cursed existence soon after he had his revenge. Essentially, Kullervo is the same as he was depicted in the Kalevala with one important denotation that he is made up of the tribe of Kalervo’s negative emotions. A “living curse” of his tribe whose sole existence is to bring justice to the slaughtered.

Personality

The embodiment of hatred taking the shape of an all-consuming storm. A wicked child who was never given the chance to truly grow, Kullervo acts purely on his own impulses, doing what he believes is right and ignoring those around him. Being summoned as an Avenger has only warped Kullervo's mentality further, going so far as to destroy anyone who would dare spite him. Despite this, reasoning can be reached with his Master, especially if they share the same pain he had endured in his life: The pain of abuse and abandonment, to be torn from his family and sold off as a slave, and to have every semblance of his life taken from him. To those who are familiar with this abuse, Kullervo would sympathize with, taking on their burdens and allowing them to fuel the ever-raging tempest stirring deep within his heart, where naught but an overwhelming desire for vengeance remains. Kullervo knows that his very existence is painted with the misery of his people and that he must carry that burden even in the Throne of Heroes. Rather than changing that fate, his wish is to ensure that no child should carry the same burden.

Armament

Aside from the broadsword of the High God Ukko, Kullervo's main weapon of choice as an Avenger is the grudges surging through his body and manifesting as blackened lightning, representing both his overflowing desire for revenge as well as his latent magical power. Kullervo also carries a copper hand-ax as a focus for casting spells as well as a complementary side-arm.

Avenger: B+
Signature class skill of the Avenger class, denoting one's state of being that gathers the hatred and resentment of others onto one's self. In other words, the very way of living as an Avenger. Not only is it easy for negative emotions to be drawn towards Kullervo, but he is empowered by them. The grudges of those around him only serve as fuel for Kullervo's tempestuous rage, that resentment automatically converted to both strength and energy. Gathering grudges is exceptionally easy due to Kullervo being a "living curse".

Memory Correction: A
Class skill of the Avenger class. Humans, as living things, are forgetful of many things, but an Avenger never forgets. Consumed with a rage for the vast misfortunes both he and his tribe have suffered, Kullervo's hatred will never falter. An endless storm rages through Kullervo's heart. It’s this unending torrent that caused him to abandon and even curse his own family in his desire to obtain revenge. By attacking from beyond the memories of his opponents (and because he also carries the memories of his tribe), critical effects are strengthened.

Class skill of the Avenger class. Until one's revenge is complete, magical energy is endlessly replenished. However, this skill has been sublimated into The Vengeful Storm That Rages Endlessly due to Kullervo's form of mana replenishment going above and beyond the limits of this skill.

Signifies one as a practitioner of the black arts. Kullervo was noted to have an incredible talent with sorcery and alongside the nature of his body containing numerous grudges, he would truly be a first-class genius at the art if not for his ill-fated life. Instead, Kullervo impulsively wields a vast assortment of curses and other dark magics as a weapon against all those who would spite him. However, because he wildly casts spells due to his anger, the expected outcomes are more varied and the effects are much harder to control.

Madness of the Spirits: A
The maddening howls of Kullervo, a child born from the countless grudges of the murdered tribe of Kalervo, scour the Earth, causing the spirits sleeping from within to stir and crush the will of all opposition. A mental interference effect that temporarily decreases the STR and AGI of his opponents, Kullervo's screams carry the collective weight of his entire tribe's rage and anguish.

Prana Burst (Lightning): C+
Magical energy is infused with the element of Lightning, surging from one's weapons and body. A skill that combines Kullervo's internal magical energy along with the properties of his Noble Phantasm, Ukonvasara. Summoned as an Avenger, blackened lightning overflows from Kullervo's body, enhanced and made stronger by the resentment accumulated within him, bestowing this lightning with a grudge effect and further darkening it. Eternally, Kullervo is covered in a furious tempest that grows along with his anger, protecting him in an armor of cursed lightning that also serves as a manifestation of his all-consuming desire for vengeance.

The Vengeful Storm That Rages Endlessly: A
A mutation of the Galvanism skill made by synchronizing his Noble Phantasm with his existence as an Avenger. Rather than stray magical energy, negative emotions and even curses are instead converted into electricity used to further fuel his quest for vengeance. The grudge-filled electricity paints Kullervo's mana, darkening his magical energy. Because of his state as an Avenger, who is constantly filled with negative emotions, this skill constantly fuels Kullervo like a Perpetual Motion Engine, allowing him to survive even spiritual core damage momentarily so long as he remains sufficiently angry. So long as the storm within his heart continues to rage on, not even the World can end his existence.

The magical broadsword given to Kullervo by the High God Ukko, Sky Father of the Finns. A "sentient" sword that can move and attack on its own, its main ability is to grant its wielder the destructive power of Ukko, the blade itself containing the High God's lightning. However, it seems as if this power has been severely weakened due to not being summoned under the Saber class, losing the ability to launch direct bolts of lightning. Instead, Kullervo has directed Ukonvasara's power internally through the use of his witchcraft, granting him the Prana Burst (Lightning) skill and essentially serving as a glorified lightning rod.

Because Kullervo's body is filled with grudges, the lightning borne from the blade is also strengthened with these negative emotions, resulting in a peculiar effect that allows the blade to transcend its normal limits. By invoking the blade's True Name and striking it into the ground like a thunderbolt, the tempest of hatred held within Kullervo is brought outward all around him, resulting in a destructive maelstrom that scales in conjunction with Kullervo's accumulated grudges. If sufficiently powered, this storm has enough destructive power to raze an entire forest or wipe an entire village off the map, permanently scouring the Earth with Kullervo's hatred.

Interestingly, the sword is also capable of speech. However, the personality of the sword has been significantly warped into that of a blood-starved murderer due to holding the countless grudges contained within its wielder. Even the blood of Kullervo's allies or even the wielder himself would satisfy the sword's blood lust. A terrible conversation partner, but otherwise loyal to whoever wields it. A sword is made to be a tool used for killing, after all.

Kullervo: this is actually very good. The concept of "Grudges in human form" is not new but you integrates it with his legend very well. I especially find Witchcraft(wild) a very cool skill and the NP very interesting. Overall, a very strong first impression.

Theft of Ride: Jieshehuai can use other servants horses or ride belongings almost as if he is their actual owner. Of course, rather than a magical trick, he either forcefully obtains them or convinces their master to dismount before.

Through his 9 years service of commanding armies against nomadic tribes of Central Asia for Tang Dynasty, he had seen lives flourishing and perishing, ascending and descending, shining like a northern star or being corrupted like a spoiled mushroom leftover. There are times even the hardest metal bends, there are golds even to purchase something unthinkable to attain, and there are words and ways to disrupt people's seemingly indestructible loyalty. He knows what to say who, when, how and where, and in no-time one's meek servant might be found to openly attack him/her with Jiesheshuai's assistance.

This is a telepathic way of communication with other servants, in analogy of the intricate ways of information flow in palace for conspiration. The target servant's will not be aware of it directly. Requires very low amount of mana and can be done multiple times to anyone. However, it only (has a chance to) work against a servant with "Independent Action" skill.

Range - What meets the eye's of Jiesheshuai

Jiesheshuai is not a delinquent, he has his principles, status, dignity and of course, comrades. After the last word of the incantation, "TOGETHER" , the weather around becomes stormy, with occassional thunders and incessant rain, 20 comrades of him appears from the Palace Raid event. Each of them equally as capable as Jiesheshuai, and their unison boosts their endurance stat to level B++. Additionally, all of them including Jiesheshuai wear a long cloak which makes it impossible for enemies to distinguish him from his comrades.

This Noble Phantasm will require more mana to sustain, and still it will have a time-limit. The death of Jiesheshuai completely destroys his other comrades as well, and the last thing to remove it is, its ascension to Level 2.

Range - What meets the eye's of Jiesheshuai

Each alive comrade of Jiesheshuai and he as well immediately mount an unarmored horse. No stat is boosted but practically their agility and endurance increases. They can perform hit-and-run and Parthian shot tactics fully, the number of arrows is limitless as long as sufficient amount of mana is supplied by Jiesheshuai through his master or other ways.

When this stage is reached, the time-limit of this noble phantasm further reduces, and with still increasing mana consumption with horses and arrows. Literally, it is a last-ditch effort but using it on the verge of defeat or death will only accelerate them. If Jiesheshuai and comrades managed to obtain Holy Grail while this Noble Phantasm is active, they may survive. In all other cases, all of them including the servant will die.

Historical Background:

Ashina Jiesheshuai ( b: ? – d. 19 May 639) was a member of the Ashina clan of the Eastern Turkic Khaganate and general (Zhonglangjiang) of the Tang dynasty.
He was one of Shibi Khan's sons and the younger brother of Ashina Shibobi (Chinese: 阿史那什钵苾), who was a vassal khagan of the Tang dynasty and used the title of Tölis Khan. Tang China defeated the Eastern Turkic khaganate, which became a vassal of Tang China in 630. During this period, some Turkic nobles were members of the Chinese army. Ashina Jiesheshuai was among these nobles. By summer 639, as Ashina Jiesheshuai had not been favored by Emperor Taizong (because he had falsely accused his brother Ashina Shibobi of treason, which Emperor Taizong found despicable), he formed a conspiracy with Ashina Shibobi's son Ashina Hexiangu (Chinese: 阿史那賀暹鶻) to assassinate Emperor Taizong at his summer palace, Jiucheng Palace (九成宮, in modern Linyou County, Shaanxi). They had planned to wait for Li Zhi, the Prince of Jin, to depart from the palace in the morning and use that opportunity to attack the palace. On the day they planned, May 19, Li Zhi did not leave the palace due to a storm. Ashina Jiesheshuai attacked the palace anyway, engaging the palace guards, but the guards were supported by troops who came outside. Ashina Jiesheshuai and his comrades stole some 20 horses from the stable. They fled to the north, but were caught by pursuers near the Wei River and killed. Ashina Hexiangu was exiled to Lingbiao.

Story

...steppes...a breeze blew through but not strong enough to disrupt the serenity...then some vibration on the soil...thousands of horses were galloping on the horizon with a huge dust behind...suddenly he felt near to them...nearer...nearer...and now one of the horseman was him. A teenager he was, but capable of riding horses that much. Arrows flying, swords clashing, blood spilling, people passing away...it felt as a trivial, common thing to Jiesheshuai, except that his father, Shibi, died at that raid and life started to be quite different...that time an arrow was about to hit his nose and he suddenly woke up in sweats.

This was the only remnant of Jiesheshuai's childhood. He does not want to remember those years anymore, and not forced to see this dream almost every night. Losing his father that time, he started to distance himself from everyone as things kept going on very smoothly, like nothing happened, even to his brother. Kinship, friendship faded gradually. The days started to pass by herding animals, hunting, training Parthian shot and with some survival necessities. He was growing, becoming stronger and firmer, maybe more dependable, but something was lacking, some subtle thing...

One eventual thing is that there was a growing interaction with Chinese, they looked weak and strong, oscillating between them. But they have a solid foundation of culture and every other thing, and a massive population. Once he daydreamed like having an army of 8 million Chinese warriors and conquering all the known world. Of course, there won't be anything like that. Still, China attracted him. He started to communicate with people who both know Chinese language and his Turkic language at that time and started to learn to speak in Chinese as well. Two language, two people, it occured to him that there are far more things to see and care in this world than only herding animals and killing people.

The fate created the opportunity. Emperor Taizong of China at that time was merciful and cosmopolitan, with sympathy against nomadic ways and culture, and of course utilizing these as much as he can so that his influence grows over Central Asia as well. Year 630 A.D. was the demolition of Jiesheshuai's khaganate, and his transfer to Tand Dynasty. With his calm and trustworthy manner, exceptional war talent and ability to see through people, as he was watching them afar for years, it did not take long to appoint him as military commander. Under this title, what was being done is continuously scheming and warring to push the boundaries to north and fight the nomadic people there. And he started to be center of attention, a thing that he never knew in Khaganate years and quite enjoyed here. Two years later, his brother Shibobi died on the way to Chinese capital, he did not do anything particular about this. But this was kept in mind of others...

Things were different here, unlike nomadic people, Chinese spoke much more and used much more words, sentences and meanings. At first, he found this ridiculous and meaningless. Later he started to be overwhelmed by their interaction speed volume of information exchanged in a given time. But finally, he started to become like them. He kept thinking, solving the mysteries, intricacies of the power dynamics in both his milieu and in palace. He slowly started to use these dynamics on his advantage, to make himself more influential. The people who he could not startle with his archery skill, got drawn to him by the knowledge they would like to know about their adversaries. Sometimes, Jiesheshuai also be amazed by some properties of other people, and he established his connection with them as well. As it was like a star collection, they started to do things all together. They would practice riding, archery, Parthian shot and even oratorship together, and they grew familiar with themselves, always trying to improve both themselves and each other. But Jiesheshuai found this insecure, getting more familiar might look a stranger cute and well but in the eyes of palace, the rivers would flow anti-gravitationally. So he started to put random people in his collective activities as well, in total he was always with more than 100 people whatever activity of merit he does. He realized that there were Chineses taking Parthian shot even better than him, and also some other were slightly better than him in the other ways. He left the pleasures of the life aside completely and started to train alone sometimes to surpass everyone. Yet this was no joke, being the best was not that easy anymore. Fortunately he still got the attention he seeks from the people so he did not need to feel bad about his distance to his ideal, or hold grudges against the people who is more talented.

This kind of connections did not actually make him more sociable or less alone, yet he filled a certain gap in his heart. He started to feel the warmth of comradeship. He was a realist, that with certain push everyone may change their attitudes 180 degree, so he never expected an unbreakable friendship or invincible loyalties.

And the calendar showed 639 A.D. At a palace ceremony, Emperor Taizong favored this people and that, but overlooked him completely. This, was speculated later as done due to Jiesheshuai blamed his late brother for treason. But at that instant, he barely kept his cool while his mind was entirely shaken. A few days passed and he found no way of return, he kept seeing the dream he was always seeing, with additional scenes of insolence from weak Chinese emperors, ministers and stuff. There is a visible interest loss on his trainings and activities as well. Without further ado, he found that with the people who he can still influence, he would take that Taizong hostage and put another person in his place so that the history will completely be overwritten in favor of him, among many other benefits on his side.

He knew that the longer you plan a rebellion, the less chance it will have for success. The quickest he can have as assitants in this undertaking seemed to be 40 people. Sometimes openly, sometimes with innuendos, he sway these people to his side. He planned to ambush palace Emperor Taizong resided after a prince, Li Zhi left it with his army. Days passed and still he did not left. And when they had a date for his depart, they put everything on that day and made preparations. Poor thing that there was not any farmer or knowledgable person among them on weathers, that day was messed with a storm, inceassant rain and hence prolonged stay of prince. Jiesheshuai still wanted to attack the palace as according to him was too late to change the plan. 20 of people found this extremely unpleasant and fled in many directions (whom the Chinese authority later would found and exile many of them, if not all), but giving chase to them was not an option for them. The remaining people take a look at themselves and found that none of them actually knows each other, another fluke of fate maybe, but they did not bother to delve it anyway.

They attacked the palace. Started to bring down guards one by one with arrows, swords, lances and the like. They could not pierce through as there was an army against, even though they held out much longer than expected. Some enter the stable and brought 20 bare horses, with that they fled to the north without thinking much of what will happen later. They kept dropping the numbers of followers but to no avail. There was the Wei River and constant rain, as if to bury them alive. But that did not happen, they valiantly fight to the point that no one knew which one was Jiesheshuai, but there are times numbers matter, and that was not an exception. A hopeless rebellion of Jiesheshuai and his comrades was torn to the pieces at that place.

By the way, I quite liked Kullervo, also reminded Kalevala ofc. He has not only interesting skills and noble phantasm, but also acts like a counter-hero imo, further makes the result of any possible encounter with him more unpredictable, and consequently, more exciting.

Grants protection against magical effects. Cancel spells with a chant below three verses. Even if targeted by High-Thaumaturgy and Greater Rituals, it is difficult for them to be affected. Saber possesses greater resistance against dark or demonic magecraft due to obtaining the approval of the Church, yet at the same time, he is weak to church sacraments due to his half-incubus blood.

A half-brother of the great mage Merlin, Saber was born from the union between human and incubus. This grants him increased mana generation, allowing him to use various forms of magecraft in rapid succession. Saber normally uses these illusions to pull off pranks, but in battle, they can be used to confuse the enemy, executing feints, and creating openings.

Saber's disguise during his penance. Adopted into the court of the Holy Roman Empire, Saber disguised himself as a foolish court jester who ate under the table with the palace dogs in the evening. This skill creates an illusion presenting Saber as much weaker and more insignificant than he truly is, leading enemies to underestimate him, and leaves others who see traces of his actions thinking "It couldn't have been him."

The armor Saber wears, originally a set of Heavenly armaments that Saber earned through his prayers. Wishing to stop an ongoing war, Saber fought three days in succession with impeccable skill, first fighting as a black knight, then a red knight, and finally a white knight. After the war concluded, no one, safe for a certain princess, knew who the mysterious knight was. Working similarly to disengage and information erasure, This Noble Phantasm can be activated whenever Saber is heavily wounded, or if his True Name became known to his enemies. At that moment, Saber would withdraw from battle and any information regarding his skills and True Name will be erased from the enemies' minds. While it is useful for obscuring his identity, Saber can only activate this Noble Phantasm three times at most.

Saber's main weapon. Originally a demonic sword that had taken the lives of many, it also gained Heavenly attributes after God had fully forgiven Saber's sins. This makes it effective against enemies of both divine and demonic origins, capable of bypassing most of their protections. In addition, by invoking its True Name, the sword would release a beam of light embodying the concept of "absolution". Its damage is further increased if the target possesses evil alignment or had done something generally considered "evil". After the initial damage, those struck by it would have their aggressive and hostile urges significantly reduced, as the sword had "absolved" them of their sins. In a way, even if the sword failed to kill its target, it is possible to erase their will to fight, unless they believe themselves be fighting for an exceptionally just cause.

Saber's True Name is Sir Gowther, the protagonist of a short story contained within a poem set in the late 15th century. The son of an incubus and a human, he wreaked havoc, repented for his sins, saved a princess, was canonized and crowned as Holy Roman Emperor, and lived happily ever after... Or so the story goes. In truth, he hated life as an emperor. His free spirit was ill-suited for monotonous political and governmental obligations. Thus, unknown to anyone else, one day he decided to abandon his position and leave the empire with his wife for a life of adventure, after delegating his post to a close friend of his, Maximilian I. Eventually, his life faded into obscurity, relegated into a lesser-known piece of literature, while the world believed that Maximilian I had ruled the empire the whole time during the late 15th century.

An easygoing, free-spirited young man with little sense of responsibility and obligation, Saber only desires a fun adventure and a good time. He's the type who believes "it's okay to sin as long as you just repent sooner or later", although he does seem to genuinely avoid crueler, more inhumane sins committed by his younger self such as massacres and arson. Despite loving his wife, he is also somewhat of a womanizer, easily smitten by any beautiful woman he encounters.

Saber has a fondness for pranks and practical jokes. In battle, he rarely takes his enemies seriously, preferring to draw out the battle and openly mock his enemies through his illusions. That said, the enemy bringing up his past or saying something along the lines of "a despicable incubus is all you'll ever be" would most likely succeed in pissing him off enough to take them seriously.

Saber shares a close sibling relationship with Merlin, despite the two never having met in life. It's as if their personalities are highly compatible, despite the frequent fights they have and Saber's constant pestering to have Merlin teach him more magecraft for his pranks and mischief.

Saber doesn't have any specific wish to the Grail. To him, being summoned for any reason simply beats the boredom of governing an empire or sitting around for eternity on the Throne.

Lore

Our tale begins with the Duke of Austria, who threatened his wife with divorce if she does not quickly conceive an heir for him. She was in her garden one morning when a person she believed to be her husband arrives and they made love beneath the trees. However, she had been the victim of the utmost deception. Her "husband" was actually an incubus using magecraft to disguise himself, similar to how Uther Pendragon bedded the Duchess of Tintagel through Merlin's help.

The child the lady carried in her womb is Merlin's half-brother, we are told. But he was a fiendish child. As a young child, he sent numerous wet nurses to their graves and bit off his mother's nipple on the only occasion she dares to suckle him. As he matured, hunting became one of his favorite pastime. Another one of his favorite involved terrorizing nearby villages while carrying a demonic sword, murdering innocents and burning entire villages to the ground. Perhaps due to his incubus blood, he seemed to possess strong hatred towards anything holy, as he burned an entire convent of nuns to their deaths. It was said that his father, the Duke of Austria, was so sickened of his son's behavior that he died of shame.

Eventually, rumors of Gowther's incubus father and demonic blood began to circulate around the villages. Gowther was outraged hearing these rumors. He confronted his mother to see if they were true, and at the point of his sword, she confessed everything. Now appalled by his actions, Gowther resolved to travel to Rome and see the Pope to receive absolution for his sins.

Gowther received an audience with the Pope and was given the penance that he may not speak, and that anything he swallows must first have been in the mouth of a dog. With nowhere else to go, by some luck Gowther was taken in by the Holy Roman Empire as their court jester, allowing him to eat under the tables with the palace dogs.

The Holy Roman Emperor had a daughter who is mute, but that didn't stop a tyrannical sultan from a nearby kingdom from asking for her hand in marriage. When the emperor refused, the sultan declared war. Gowther, still disguised as Hob the court jester, prayed to put an end to the conflict, and he was rewarded with three sets of divine armor, as well as a majestic horse outside his small room. For the next three days, Gowther joined the emperor's army and fought with remarkable skill, first disguised as a black knight, then a red knight, and finally a white knight. As the war concluded, the people were left wondering on who was the mysterious knight who saved them all. Only the princess knew of the knight's true identity, but she was mute and thus unable to reveal it to anyone.

Yet ultimately, victory comes at a price. Seeing Sir Gowther badly wounded, the princess fell from her tower in anguish. The Pope was summoned to bury her, but just before she was buried, she awakened, fully capable of speech. She declared that this is a miracle, and God had fully forgiven Gowther's sins, lifting his penance.

Following this, the two married and soon Gowther was crowned as Holy Roman Emperor. He built a number of abbeys, churches, and convents, as atonement for his previous action of burning down a convent in his youth. Eventually, bored of ruling, he named Maximilain I as his successor and set off with the princess for a life of adventure. Nothing else was known regarding his life afterwards, but it is most likely safe to assume that the two lived happily ever after.

Creator's Notes

Basically what would happen if Merlin chose the warrior/swordsman build and doesn't have a protege like Artoria to keep his more... mischievous impulses in check. Hopefully that little in-universe explanation on how "he's actually a real figure all along, but history didn't record him as one due to him running away from the throne" works well enough. Let's just say the church and the empire covered up his actions or told his tale simply as a fictional piece of literature since having an emperor run away from his job would definitely look bad for them.

Also that Oniichan bit with Merlin is 100% ironic. He just figured out the cringiest, most annoying way he could refer him as and decided to tick with it just to pester him more.

Finally, I feel kinda bad that his second NP is pretty much the generic sword beam, but I just couldn't think of anything else involving his sword.

Sir Gowther: his "Merlin but with no restraint" personality is really fun, it alone makes me want him to be a real servant. His Hob, the fool skill is really creative and, while his Np's are nothing crazy, they are not bad. In fact, I think there is a "cool simplicity" to them that matches his character. Really good, would summon.

A Noble Phantasm original to Lancer herself, it is a crystallization of her feat of slaying the wolf Fenrir which she accomplished during the battle of Ragnarok. It is a strong conceptual attack that "forces into submission a strong foe" and "breaks their bodies along with their spirit".
The technique is initiated by Lancer stomping into the ground, creating a powerful shock wave that manifests a special boundary field with a strong gravitational force that pressures her target into place, almost as if they are being held down. Lance will then jump into the air and come down into what can only be described as a "diving kick" who's power can be equated to a full-force swing of the divine hammer Mjolnir, completely eradicating her target along with anything on the area around it.
If she so desires, Lancer can activate the boundary field to immobilize her enemies without having to finish the attack. This Noble Phantasm also caries strong Anti-Beast effect and in fact, only Divine Beasts on the level of the "White Whale" or the "Bull of Heaven" would be able to survive this technique, and even so not completely unscathed.

Lancer is a naturally stoic person. She has seen the fires of Twilight and the end of her world, so she is hardly ever startled by anything. It is safe to say that experiencing this destruction has had a great impact on her personality.
She is quiet, rarely speaking and when doing it so, having a soft voice. From the beginning, Lancer always knew what her purpose was and never really diverged from it. In a sense, her existence is somewhat similar to that of a Valkyrie, being almost mechanical on the way she approaches duties.

A conceptual replication of the island that Caster inhabited in life, imbued with the true essence of her magecraft, namely "the ability to make others see things the way she wants them to see it". Upon its activation, a bounded field is laid on top of the world, enough to envelop a small town. At first, this bounded field only serves to increase the range of Caster's territory creation, granting her a boost to her mana generation rate.

Its true effect serves to further strengthen her illusions. The mana cost for her illusions is halved under the bounded field, and rather than simply "deceiving the people" or "deceiving the environment", this Noble Phantasm allows her to go beyond and "deceive the mind". Essentially, this allows her to induce certain thoughts, ideas, and emotions within the people trapped inside her bounded field, weaving a narrative and turning the field into her own personal "story". Similar to her actions in life, her illusions under this Noble Phantasm has become so convincing that it is also possible for her to "turn" the enemy into inanimate objects by convincing their body and senses to shut down.

Caster can maintain this bounded field for around 2-3 hours, although she may need to consume more mana for this Noble Phantasm to affect individuals possessing high-ranking mental resistance skills or anti-illusion magical artifacts, shortening its duration.

Description

Caster's True Name is Alcina, the devious witch who trapped Ruggiero on her island during the course of the legendary Italian epic Orlando Furioso. Caster initially presents herself as cold and distant, partially due to not wanting to get hurt by love again, and due to her own unfamiliarity to the topic of romance. Deep down, she possesses a highly idyllic view of romance (being a character inside a chivalric romance story doesn't help matters), which may cause her to easily fall in love, get jealous, and act somewhat obsessive towards those she deems as her "prince charming", although she would just as easily ditch them (if not worse) the moment she deems them lacking in any way. A witch who desires the perfect fairytale romance despite having little to no understanding of the subject.

Caster deeply envies romance protagonists who "had everything handed to them without any effort". As someone who takes the saying "you are the protagonist of your own story" a little too seriously, she deeply believes in working hard and doing anything in her power to achieve her "happy ending", even if her misguided attempts may occasionally (okay, more often than not) come off as unsettling and obsessive. Due to this belief, she despises her representation as an antagonist (albeit a sympathetic one) in later retellings of her story, as she defiantly, yet innocently proclaims that "there is nothing wrong with falling in love and wanting to be loved!". Ultimately, while she had already moved on from Ruggiero and forgiven Bradamante for foiling her plans, it is unlikely that Caster could get along with either of them due to her envy towards people with wholesome, lovey-dovey relationships in general.

Caster is not quite sure on what she would wish upon the Grail. Realizing her dream romance fantasy seems like the obvious wish, but that would defeat the purpose of the wish and go against Caster's own mentality by using "an obvious Deus ex Machina" to realize her dream. After all, the true love she longs for must be achieved through her own efforts only, and it must be "as natural as can be, like a real-life fairytale". Truly, a hopeless romantic capable of committing various atrocities in the name of her love.

Lore

The tale of Alcina begins somewhere along the course of Orlando Furioso. Bradamante has just rescued the brave knight Ruggiero from an enchanted castle. Suddenly, Bradamante's hippogriff takes a liking to him and flies away carrying Ruggiero before Bradamante could intervene. The hipogriff lands on an island in the middle of the ocean and when it starts nibbling on a nearby myrtle bush, the bush begins to speak. The bush introduces himself as the paladin Astolfo, and told Ruggiero that the island is home to two sister witches, Alcina and Morgana. The two were said to have seduced countless men and turned them into inanimate objects such as stones, statues, and bushes whenever they tire of their lovers. Despite Astolfo's warning, Ruggiero decides to find the two witches and ask them for a way home, convinced that his pure heart could protect him from the witches' influence. Then Ruggiero promptly falls under their spell.

A few days later, Bradamante arrives at Alcina's island accompanied by Melisso, a benevolent mage and Ruggiero's former tutor. Bradamante disguises herself with a full set of armor, adopting the name of her brother, Ricciardo. Melisso also gives her a magical ring that enables the wearer to see through illusions, which they plan to use to rescue Ruggiero. The two first encounters the witch Morgana, who immediately falls head over heels for "Ricciardo" and dumps her previous lover, Oronte. Morgana escorts the two to Alcina's court, and on the way, they encounter Oberto, a young boy searching for his father, Astolfo. Hearing this, Bradamante deduced that Astolfo must have fallen for the witches' trick and had been transformed into something, but she decides to hold her peace and prioritize finding Ruggiero first.

On Alcina's court, Bradamante was appalled to find out that Ruggiero is now engaged to Alcina, in a state of complete amnesia about his previous life. Bradamante tries to snap him out of it, but under the spell, Ruggiero cannot think of anyone or anything else besides Alcina. Suddenly, Oronte barges into the room, convinced that "Ricciardo" has stolen Morgana from him. Bradamante, still wearing the armor, attempts to clarify the misunderstanding, but Oronte, still in a foul mood, decides to take it out on Ruggiero. Oronte claims that Alcina, as far as he knows, has fallen for Ricciardo as well. Still under the spell and overwhelmed by jealousy, Ruggiero defeats him in combat.

Bradamante witnesses the whole fighting going on and becomes jealous seeing how far Ruggiero would go to win Alcina's heart. Having had enough, Bradamante discards the armor, revealing her true identity and causing the entire court to become very, very confused. Outraged, Alcina threatens to turn Bradamante into an animal, but she was stopped by Morgana, who begs Bradamante to leave before things get any worse. Bradamante refuses, claiming she would not leave without her beloved (Ruggiero). Morgana misinterprets Bradamante's "beloved" as herself and sings a dramatic aria describing the feeling of love she experiences.

Eventually, Melisso managed to snap Ruggiero out of Alcina's spell by forcing him to wear the magic ring. Now Ruggiero sees the island as it truly is; a barren wasteland populated by monsters and ruled by a terrifying witch. Melisso tells Ruggiero that he cannot just escape as Alcina still wields immense power. Instead, he should cover his escape by telling Alcina that he simply wishes to go hunting. Ruggiero agrees to the plan, but still bewildered by the illusions he just saw, he refuses to believe his eyes when he sees Bradamante, accusing her of being another one of Alcina's illusions. Bradamante falls into despair, as does Alcina when she realizes that her "prince charming" will be leaving. Desperate to prove her love for him, Alcina appears before the two, and is about to turn Bradamante into an animal as a "symbol of her love". At the last moment, Ruggiero pulls himself together and convinces Alcina that she does not need to prove her love to him. Seemingly satisfied with his response, Alcina left the two alone. Secretly, it pains Ruggiero to do this, as now he knows that Alcina genuinely loves him, in her own misguided way.

Afterwards, Melisso, Bradamante, and Ruggiero shared their escape plan with Oronte and Oberto, and the group swiftly executes their plan. By the time Alcina and Morgana realized the plan, it was too late Alcina tried to stop them with her spells, but she fails, as her magic powers fade away when true love enters her life. Perhaps she was unwilling to hurt Ruggiero, or deep down, she realizes that it would not be right to deprive him of his "happy ending" with Bradamante. Either way, she stops pursuing them and weeps in sorrow.

The tale is resolved quickly afterwards. As Alcina's magic fades, the illusions are dispelled and the bodies of her previous lovers are restored, including Astolfo. Before they leave, Bradamante and Ruggiero destroys the source of Alcina's magic, an ancient urn, and after the deed is done, the entire island sinks into the ground, taking Alcina and Morgana with it. The survivors sing of happiness and relief, while Alcina is forgotten.

"Ufufu, my apologies, back when I heard tales of the legendary Sir Astolfo, I imagined you were some gallant knight in shining armor. Then turned out you're just a crossdressing pervert, so... I just can't help but turn you into a bush, you know."

George Frederic Handel:
"Master, the nerve on that guy! He adapted my story, got my name on the title and all, and he didn't even bother to tweak the ending a bit to give me a happier end! Maybe I should sue him for some royalties as payback, I heard that lion-man is good at this sort of thing..."

Ruggiero/Bradamante (bond 5):
"Those two? Don't worry Master. Sure, it was painful back then, but maybe that was for the best. I hope they're happy, at least... W-Well, not like I'd ever say that to them directly!"

Creator's Notes

The thought just dawned on me when I finished the sheet, but she could probably be a good pseudo with Manaka Sajyou due to their obsessive love towards their "prince charming" and their expertise with various forms of magecraft.

And wow, that lore. There's just so much comical misunderstandings there that I wouldn't be surprised if this literature was one of the early pioneers of those misunderstanding tropes you'd often see in anime these days.

NP-wise, it's a rather generic "grand illusion" type, partially inspired by an anecdote I heard on psych class on how it's theoretically possible to give someone a fatal shock or heart attack by blindfolding them, then firing an empty gun accompanied by a light tap to the chest, as the body convinces itself that the gun was loaded, and the body had died from the gunshot noise and the sensation of something hitting the chest. Kind of a basic Caster NP, but I feel it suits the character well as "illusions" are pretty much her main thing.

Overall, enjoy the witch waifu.

Alcina: I loved this sheet. Is simple, but in its simplicity lies its biggest strength: her personality. I'm such a sucker for these types of characters, the ones who will do anything for a misguided ideal. And the fact that she is indeed a maiden in love inside of her heart, despite being a "villain" with terrifying illusionary powers is nothing to laugh at. I almost want her to find happiness with her Master or someone else, but at the same time, her capricious and even naive nature will make difficult for her to truly find a satisfactory conclusion... Maybe, when she grow up (in her heart) one day... Anyway, what I'm trying to say is: 10/10 WOULD ROLL FOR HER WOULD GRAIL WITH MUCH LOVE.
Also, look, I'm not saying that the Monthly contest's Alterego and her would sigh a lot about love life together, albeit for different reasons, but I'm saying that they would indeed sigh a lot about their love life together.

I also quite like her third skill, specifically her "Curse" because it is something that fits her perfectly. I also love the FC, but that may just be my Touhou fanboyism and bias.

Haven't really found any ideas for the contest though, other than one Assassin-class Servant who I'll be posting in a day or two (which I'm still kind of iffy on their skills and NP).

Anyway, Alcina here is an attempt to write a Servant with a bit more "waifu" feel to it compared to the usual "cool" approach I take with most of my previous Servants. Glad to see it conveyed pretty well.

She is i must say an quite good servant and her ilusioncraft is also good worked out as i like it more if the possibilities/aplications of their thaumaturgy is mentioned,also do i like that she is an vilain but not really one if seen from an other angle ,i would like to see her in an anime Adaption and get the Medea route ( i mean that she find her love and not the part of demise) one Question are the effects of her noblephantasm after its releasing still active like the Suggestion like ilusions ?

Also is she a quite nice waifu ,i would wish that she goot an own Story where she is the Heroine .
