I think Wave, Listen To Me is my AOTS. The show is legitimately funny, but damn does the VA take the whole show up to 11.

Fruits Basket, Kaguya, Tsugumomo and Railgun are more of the same good stuff they were before. (though I don't know if I'd call Tsugumomo good. Enjoyable, maybe.)

Gleipnir is the most "This is a sex metaphor!!!1!!!" thing I've seen in a while. Which is pretty funny.

Arte is adorable, but it's just Arcuied in Renaissance Italy.

In terms of Tsugumomo, while I generally do not enjoy "monster of the week" setups, in this particular case, there is a good reason for it. It's generally only dumb when all the "monsters of the week" come from the same army, but most amasogi work alone.

So I watched the first episode of The Great Pretender. Wow, this show is hitting all my buttons. Gratuitous Engrish. A show about con men, out conning each other. Tanned kung fu girl. Jazz Op. A Freddie Mercury ED.

So Hamefura ended, and Bakarina was her delightful self, even during the episode and a half where the show suddenly remembered it was supposed to have a plot. All in all, good fun, but not all that special.

Also freshly "ended" - Bookworm, season 2. Episode 26, in which we finally reach the beginning of episode 1, and you learn the entire two seasons so far have been nothing but a flashback! Too bad they didn't have any budget to actually animate these last few episodes. Slideshow battles are disappointing.
Also, it says they intend to keep going... which is weird. Story arc 2 only has about 2-3 episodes of content left, with a major climax (the biggest event until the entire series climax, another 500 chapters later!). Are they going to put them in an OVA? That seems like a terrible idea. But then, starting a new season only to have episode 3 or 4 be a huge climax while the next 20+ are slow? That also seems bad. And then there's the entire content thing: in the books, Arc 1 was 70 chapters, Arc 2 was 100 chapters they couldn't fit into one season, then Arcs 3 was also 100 chapters. Are they going to cut off season 3 in the middle of Arc 3 as well?

Honestly, I've found the best parts of Listeners are the OST, and the ED's with their hyper stylized episode recaps.

Finished Sakura Wars.

It was mostly ok. Sakura was somehow more tolerable than she was in the game despite being an even worse spotlight hog that she was in the game. Might be because she doesn’t need a pep talk every other chapter/episode.

But the last episode has no idea what the fuck pacing is.
