In the as of yet unnamed world that Tales of Crestoria is set it, people are required to carry objects known as vision orbs (ビジョンオーブ Bijonoobu) at their side at all times. The images recorded within vision orbs can be transmitted via vision centrals (ビジョンセントラル Bijonsentoraru), structures located in place of importance, like plazas and churches. When a person is to be judged, the vision central shows "footage" from orbs related to the crime and according to the "prayers" sent by the citizens watching the images, the individual in question is judged innocent or guilty. In case the person related to the crime is judged guilty, they are branded with a "stain," and an enforcer (執行者 shikkousha) is dispatched to hunt the criminal down and pass the sentence.

The Stain of Guilt (罪の刻印 Tsumi no Kokuin, "Carved Seal of Sin") is a mark that appears on body part of those acknowledged as sinners, thus becoming a "criminal" chased down by enforcers. The positioning of the mark differs depending on the sin itself. The Stain of Blood Sin (ブラッドシンの刻印 Buraddoshin no Kokuin, "Carved Seal of Blood Sin") is an evolved form of the Stain of Blood Sin, born from the criminal's intent to carry the burden of their sin and overcoming Vicious's selection. The Blood Sin (ブラッドシン Buraddoshin) is a weapon drawn from the Stain of Blood Sin using magic after a person accepts their sin which is then embedded into their blood.

I've been enjoying it... well enough. It's hard to get invested when I know it'll wipe, but it is nice to get to try units out and such. REALLY wish the opt were more stable though.

My current, personal tier list of SSRs with the future in mind rather than just the immediate present (ie: I'm ignoring Awakening Skills for the most part and putting extra weight on memoria):

Figured I'd do a write-up on WHY I list each unit where I listed them. The higher ones have more time put into them, as the lower they got the more they were just... mediocre at best.

1) Stahn

+ His Memoria has the highest attack stat from the starting set (at 2550). This is 510 attack higher than the next highest Memoria. This alone puts him at the top of the list, as you'll be able to use his Memoria for a long time, as long as the game doesn't power-creep super hard.
+ His Memoria has a non-limited effect (that is, you can put it on anyone and it isn't restricted by element or type).
+ Has one of the highest character based attack stats (3930) and low cooldown time on his skills (2/3 turns).
+ His Awakening Skill has amazing synergy with other fire units, though this won't matter much for a while due to the time it takes to awaken units. It also has a generic component that gives all units attack up.
+ He is a Sword type, which is the most populous type at release. This makes it easy to power up his subgrid.
+ He can inflict Burn, which from my understanding is similar to "Toxic" from Pokemon.
+ At 180 OL cost, his Mystic Arte fires off relatively quickly. It is not the strongest, nor does it have a ton of hits, but it's somewhere middle of the road.

2)Leon

+ With an OL gauge of 150, Leon can potentially fire off his Mystic Arte in 2 turns. You need both of your attacks to get an OL bonus for this to happen, but it is possible.
+ His Mystic Arte has up to 29 hits.
+ Has the second highest Memoria attack stat at 2040.
+ Has the second highest character based attack stat at 3970.
+ Has low cooldown on his skills (2/3 turns).
+ Dark unit, which hits everything except Light neutrally, and hits Light super effect (and gets hit super effective by Light).

- The second half of his Awakening skill only affects Dual Blade users. He's the only SSR with this typing at the moment, and only two SRs have this type (and both are Wind rather than Dark like Leon).
- His Memoria's skill is only for Dual Blade users. This is fine if you're putting it on him, but if you need to put it on someone else, it won't be very effective with the current crop of units.
- Only a couple other Dark users, so it'd be difficult to make a competent Dark element team at launch.

3)Reid

+ Memoria has the potent "Heal % per turn" effect.
+ Memoria has the third highest attack stat at 1950 (I swear I'm not basing this whole list solely on Memoria attack stat).
+ Has great synergy with Fire once Awakened, with his skill giving the "Crit Refresh" chance effect as well as Heal on Break for fire.
+ Respectable character based attack stat that is over 3k (3400).
+ High modifier on his Artes (likely the second highest modifiers after Velvet)
+ Chance to burn.
+ Sword type

: Somewhat high cooldown on Artes (4/5 turns). Only a neutral because his Awakening skill has the chance to negate this.

- OL gauge is rather high at 240. This is still easily doable, but not something you can expect to spam.

4) Milla

+ Memoria increases gauge break, which is looking potentially essential for high difficulty raids.
+ Debilitate (second Arte's effect) is essentially "Defense Down"
+ Low cooldown on artes (3/2 turns)
+ Light unit, which hits everything except Dark neutrally, and hits Dark super effect (and gets hit super effective by Dark).
+ Respectable character based attack stat over 3k (3290).
+ Sword type.

: OL gauge at 200 is just barely too high for "quick use", but low enough that it doesn't take forever to charge.

- First Arte only has 1 hit.
- Awakening skill is bad. It's only usable by Light units and is only HP up. If Break/Heal on Break Light becomes a big thing, THEN it might become a good effect.
- If gauge breaking becomes too easy/not as essential as it seems right now, her Memoria will be far less useful. This was the main reason (in addition to Light element and Debilitate) that she was this high, so if this happens she'd drop to #8.

5) Velvet

+ Highest modifier on Mystic Arte
+ Highest modifier on Artes
+ Highest character based attack stat (3990).
+ Awakening skill includes an attack up to all charaters.

: Medium tier cooldown (3/5 turns).
: Second part of Awakening skill is only for Martial Artes types.
: Martial Arts type. This will probably be fine later on, but at launch there aren't many units in this typing.

- OL gauge is super high at 270. This makes it difficult to fire off her Mystic Arte.
- Memoria effect is only for Martial Artes types. Fine if put on her, but hard to plug and play/swap around.

6) Sorey

+ OL gauge is super low at 140. This lets him fire off as fast as Leon, if not slightly faster.
+ Can burn
+ Second arte is up to 13 hits.
+ Sword
+ Memoria effect can be plugged onto any Sword user. Has average stats.

: Mystic Arte only has 8 hits, so even though it fires fast like Leon, it doesn't set up high combo chains.

- Character based attack stat is super low at 2410. This is the main thing that kept him at #6 instead of #3 or #4.
- Awakening skill is bad. Element locked and defense focused.
- Somewhat high cooldown on skills (5/4 turns).

7) Cress

+ OL gauge is 180, so not too difficult to fire.
+ Second Arte has a chance to burn and up to 12 hits.
+ Awakening skill is a global attack up and a Crit Refresh chance for Sword users.
+ Memoria has a Mystic Arte damage up effect for any element/type.

: Unbalanced cooldowns on Artes (2/5 turns)

- Memoria is on the lower end of the attack spectrum.
- Poor character based attack stat (2900).
- First Arte is only 1 hit.

8) Kannono

+ Good hit counts and cooldowns on Artes.
+ Has perfect synergy with SR Veigue.
+ Awakening skill has an attack up all portion and a Longsword portion.
+ OL gauge at 190 is respectable.
+ Good character based attack stat at 3600

: Longsword type
: Has nothing that stands out

- Memoria is underallocated (it should have some combination of 1k more HP, 100 more attack, or 100 more defense). This is the main reason she's at #8 instead of #7.
- Memoria is type locked to Longsword

9) Kanata

+ Memoria has a generic attack up effect
+ Has an AoE Arte with a good number of hits (for PvP, this gives you a turn starting with up to a 28 hit combo)
+ Awakening Skill has attack up for all
+ Light element

- Mediocre at best everywhere.
- Memoria has below average attack stat.

10) Luke

+ OL gauge is only 160
+ Mystic Arte has up to 25 hits.
+ First Arte can hit multiple enemies
+ Memoria is a Sword based gauge breaker
+ Sword type

: Unbalanced cooldowns on Artes (5/2 turns)

- Below 3k attack.
- Awakening skill is bad (HP up for fire).

11) Misella

+ Only SSR healer
+ Can burn

- Memoria and Awakening skill are defense based.

12) Asbel

+ First Arte increases attack stat.
+ Sword type

: OL gauge is 210

- Second Arte only has 1 hit
- Character based attack stat below 3k
- Mid to high cooldown on Artes (3/5 turns)
- Mystic Arte is less than 10 hits (up to 9).

13) Yuri

+ Up to 38 hits on Mystic Arte
+ Good hit count on Artes

: Unbalanced Arte cooldowns (2/5 turns)

- OL gauge is 260, which is almost as bad as Velvet's.
- Memoria attack stat is one of the lowest
- Character based attack stat is one of the lowest

14) Aegis

+ OL gauge is 140, so can fire off as quickly as Sorey and Leon.
+ Low Arte cooldowns (2/3 turns)

: Awakening skill and memoria boost Knight type. Not many at the moment, but could easily get more later.

- Mystic Arte is only 6 hits
- Extremely low character based attack stat (2150).
- Lowest attack stat on a Memoria for gacha units

15) Vicious

+ Dark element

: OL gauge is 210

- One of the lowest character based attack stats with 2000 attack.
- Memoria and Awakening skills are HP based
- Gun type, which is very rare so difficult to build a subgrid for.
- Arte cooldowns are high (3/5 turns)

Just got info from someone that the story writer is the one who make Persona 3 movie and Phsycho Pass 2... So yeah... For people who have watched Phsycho Pass 2

But he also the one who wrote Showa Rakugou series which is great!. I hope he do his job well like that one

Okok. It looks like Milla is pretty viable pick

I'll go more in depth after getting home and trying the new units, but after looking at their stats on the wiki:

Lloyd sucks, he's defense based. Not atrocious, but not good.

Estelle is a great healer and basically nothing else. Could be quite good end game, but not at the start.

Rita... Isn't bad, but not good either. Not sure where I'd rank her, but probably in the middle. Being an average water user will hurt with summer units coming, who are likely water too.

Ludger himself isn't bad, but not great. His stone, however, could be stupid. Pure evasion.

Jude and Kohaku, though, look like they completely change the tiering. I'm leaning towards Kohaku being the best launch unit in terms of likely longevity. 10% ol gauge on arte use for martial artists is freaking insane. And her stone is Kaleidoscope.

Will update further once I can play.
