You know, this is actually kind of bothering me now. What did you all expect in this chapter anyways?

Personally I was half expecting Shirou to somehow win the fight but I love how while he won in a way he lost because of a last ditch sealing method.
Something along the lines of having Precia use the Jewel Seeds in her possession to control Shirou via his rampaging Jewel Seed. Que the protagonists entering. Shirou gets turned on the casts with unlimited blade works. Things go really badly for the protagonists when Precia vomits half a liter of blood. Precia realize her time was up and opens the dimension door. She leaves with Alicia. And the entire time Shirou was watching as a spectator jailed in his own body.
Methinks the "Everything is not at all well" feel to the chapter half threw everyone off a little bit.
What with the MGLN canon the worst physical injury was a scalp wound.
We now have Shirou, with broken ribs, metal in and coming out of his body, brain damage, nerve damage, internal bleeding, multiple fractures, micro fractures, sprained muscles, torn muscles, probably demolished muscle groups.
As well as the fact that he crawled forward at the end trying to do something and then phaild miserably. Which will likely draw his attention more than the plethora of hurts that should be getting his attention.
Probably a tad bit different from the "Everything is fine and gonna be a-ok~!" feel that the episode it is based on gave off.
I was thinking that ALL of the jewel seeds react to Shirou's rage and there wasn't enough dialogue between Shirou and Precia. I know that Shirou is filled with rage with everything but even I would think that he would TRY to understand Precia's feelings. On the other hand, you can have Precia yelling that Shirou is a naive idiot, his ideals cannot save everybody. You can even draw a connection into having Precia (when she was engaged in that experiment of hers) was an attempt to help everybody but because of that ideal, Alicia was an unfortunate casualty.
Well, you can write alternate endings, and there could be one that Shirou does save Precia but have his circuits blow out, nearly/or killing him. At least, the ending wouldn't be COMPLETELY the same as the Nanoha ending.
I must be dumb not to have noticed there was actually an update. Sorry Hero! >.<
I didn't really know what to expect from this chapter. It's just that... all that trying, all that pain, all that determination, and he still wasn't able to do anything as events unfolded; and for Shirou that must really hurt. More than the physical pain. Like, ouch.
Like Santo said, a real far call from the show, but I liked it. That's what good writing does.
Then again, this story is alot about the character interactions for me, so I'm really looking forward to the aftermath of this.
Well, I will not be the first person to say that the Shirou Vs Precia confrontation seemed like it could've had more to it, but there's only so much a person can do, and I'm alright with that because this is still a very much enjoyable read.

This is not a bad thing as long as it's addressed and not by just some throwaway scene. We have this badass scene with Shirou fighting Precia, nearly winning, then gets bound, shock tortured and ultimately gets ignored once Lindy arrives on scene and once again were back to cannon. It's not the first time I've complained about it. Everything Shirou does is irrelevant. That trend continues here.

Wow, I knew what was coming when we were bouncing ideas for this chapter a few weeks ago, but you actually took my idea of Shirou failing and wrote it out beautifully.
And now everything has shattered, and Nanoha is left to pick up the pieces of her childhood friend and her former rival. Those kids need therapy... or a good hug.Tears slowly made their way down Shirou’s face as he realized the truth. That he had failed completely. Not a single person was saved.
