Okay. When should I expect this story to start diverging from canon? You don't need to spoil anything. Just a vague timetable is enough.
As will go off the rails a bit more because there is less artifacts that are static and more human element. The original story is next and well the HGW is not going to be following canon obviously.

I imagine he would be quite envious of the protagonist (purposely avoiding answering the question)
I'm not really sure he likes that type of heroes ( they only beat up monsters but almost never actually get to save people personally).
Also, Daneels latest snippets have given me the idea that, being the least idiotic person besides Signum in the Yagami houshold, Shirou and Reinforce Zwei have a weird parent/child relationship. Just look at how comfortably he carries her around like it's a habit of his. I now see Hayate squealing in delight after realizing that Rein II has a bit of deadpan-snarker from Shirou, before getting annoyed because Rein is snarking at her.

It's funny, but none of the 3 Aces are Deadpan Snarkers. I didn't know that. In fact I can't find anything about Deadpan Snarking in the Nanoha TV Tropes page.

That' s because Shirou is a natural deadpan snarker ( although he hides it most of the time by being very polite). Rein Zwei got the habit of snarking from him :P

Shirou mainly snarks inside his head, so that makes him a First Person Smartass more than a Deadpan Snarker.

Well, Archer is Shirou's future, in many respects. And since he snarks aloud, it is generally accepted that Shirou will snark more as he grows older.
No argument there. Side, seeing Shirou as the Only Sane Man among the three Aces will be funny.

Shirou feels protective about Rein II. The original Reinforce's sacrifice is one of Shirou's first big Failures. Thus there is that tiny part of him that wants to make sure Rein is safe and happy.

Someone do an omake that shows just how good a father Shirou will be. if confused highlight (In case someone does not get that I want an omake staring Shirou and Rein 2)
Rein II can't fly in the first few months after her creation, so Shirou lets her ride on his shoulder whenever she needs a lift.
