Fate/Desmoterion The Magus Prison, Jacob's Ladder, located in a deep pit in the midst of an endless desert. Nine levels descending into the darkness, it is a place to hold mages who have broken the laws of their society. All those imprisoned are not expected to leave alive, but even in darkness, there is hope. A Grail War, with each victory bringing one closer to freedom.
Premise
Fate/Desmoterion finds our protagonists locked within the deepest depths of the Magus Prison, Jacob's Ladder. While the first eight floors contain various villains and criminals, the lowest floor is reserved not for those convicted of any crime, but are considered threats to the status quo of Magus society. Political prisoners and those with great influence or unnatural abilities to sway people are held here. While every prisoner has the right to summon a servant and attempt to ascend through the prison to freedom, not all of them do, some content to live out their lives quietly within the walls of this expansive dungeon. Those that do however, must battle and defeat opposing masters to earn the right to climb higher, those that manage to reach the top gaining their freedom.
The story is mainly plot focused PVE as I will provide antagonists and the like. The planned story is more complex than what I've laid out here, but I don't want to write a whole bit on that for the introduction here.
Character Creation
Masters
When it comes to character creation, there won't be a lot of rules to follow as I'm assuming anyone that can keep up with the dense mythos of Nasu works has enough judgement not to go totally off the rails (In a bad way) when it comes to creating a character. Try to make them interesting and compelling, just cause they're in prison doesn't mean they're a villain or a hardass, so have fun with it.
There is not currently any player limit, but I'll let people know if I think the numbers are becoming unmanagable for me. Players will be responsible for a master/servant pair.

Servants
For Servant profiles, I have some stricter rules, but please know that they're here for good reason and I'm not trying to ruin anybody's fun, just promote creativity and stop myself from having an aneurysm.
1. No canon servants, even in different classes. I don't want to have to deal with people clamouring to get the best servants according to lore or long debates about the characterisation of them in depth. Leeway can be given for ones who have only been mentioned or hinted at. (Eg. Passing references in Extra or Requiem etc.)
2. Whoever you choose should be your original take on this figure, I live in constant agony from a past RP where someone made Yukimura Sanada in his 'signature red headband'. If I wanted to see Sengoku Basara's Nobunaga Oda vs. Rurouni Kenshin's Saito Hajime, I would just write the fanfiction myself.
3. While I understand that the series has basically thrown away most of the rules that were established long ago, I still choose to enforce one. Servants should be at least a century old. Whether this means they died, were first written about etc. a hundred years ago, doesn't matter, I will give 5 years wiggle room and no more, so if your idea was after 1925, it's out. Again, past mistakes with somebody making modern servants that were frankly terrible.
Please people, don't make me add more rules.

History: Former scion of the prestigious Lynn family, while the family maintained a high social standing, it was all a cover for their more illicit pursuits. Corina, a pawn in these machinations, ultimately became the one to reveal them to the world, but in doing so, found herself destined for the bottom rung of Jacob's Ladder.

Personality: In terms of personality, he's mostly an introvert who doesn't let weakness manifest in his expression. Perhaps because he does not remember a lot about himself, it is easier for him to distance himself from the idea of a morally righteous human being and speak bold, cruel words. While it remains pretty clear that humand interaction is not his forte and that he doesn't smile often, he's not as rutheless as his appearance hints, and traces of honor and respect remain within his heart. As such, he's not a machine, but rather just another selfish being who puts his well-being first, before the rest. That's human nature, so one cannot blame him for being like that.
History: A private investigator turned inmate when he probed too deeply into the affairs of Jacob's Ladder. His mind has been shattered thanks to the torturous methods of his captors, ensuring he cannot use what knowledge he has gleamed about the prison itself. Now, a mostly amnesiac without tools, he finds himself on the bottom rung.

You have to beat 9 teams, one per floor (Very Extra, I know), and at the minute that is the plan, but I need to think on it more cause I was originally compiling this as a fanfiction idea, but I wanted to open it up and see people in the environment without just shuffling about my own ideas.

Well that's what I'm debating with myself. Cause while masters have to win to get higher, they technically have access to all the floor's below their own. So I could give people different designations and just have them tossed on the bottom floor with the expectation that those from higher floors can just walk up to them.
In my original story plan, the protag was supposed to be a prisoner from floor 9 (Cause of friggin' course they were) but again, doesn't necessarily work for an RP setting. So that one is up for debate.

Any magical gear will have been taken before they got in (Don't ask what a magical cavity search looks like) but like any prison, there's a thriving economy of contraband, so getting information, tools etc. can be done.

People of influence from outside factions. Like if they locked up Darnic or Kiara in order to gain influence over their groups, or people with unusual abilities that could cause difficulties, like Touko, but without the motivation of sealing designations.
