It's the Servant Summer Festival! the biggest and craziest FGO event! And remains Nasu's favourite.

We need to go Hawaii on a totally serious mission. Most servants seem to be not around, leaving a few that aren't normally concerned with honest work - apart from one loyal retainer - to take this on.

Well... after three two years of being locked up in Chaldea, getting copies summoned to fight, spending carefree days with fellow servants, causing mayhem, occasionally going on an actual mission with Master - oh, and farming hell. They've mostly decided fuck it, we're on vacation.

This event is immediately more interesting than the last Summer. Though it's weird to see them throw canonicity out of the window after trying so hard to fit events in the story so far.

Not that I'm complaining about it.

I agree, it's a bit of fresh air to (so far very early anyhow) have a story that feels "nah fuck the narrative, we're going to go fucking loony with this and drag you all along for the ride" - at least that's how I'm feeling right now. Grinning like a moron at the whole intro scene with Blackbeard. XD

I think this takes place during last year, canonically. Da Vinci mentioned something about the Association's investigators taking their sweet time arriving to Chaldea.

Technically you could summon Anastasia before starting Lostbelts, she's not story locked. But we clearly don't know who she is when she attacks in the prologue so early summoning isn't being accounted for in the story.

So to my understanding, once you finish the days you need to do a loop back to the beginning and you keep your points. And to get the costume quests to show up, you need to have a certain amount of points on a certain day?
