I have to concur, this Danmachi plotline is stupid, predictable, and stupidly predictable. There's definitely some room for writing a story around an economy based on the extermination of sapient creatures... and they chose the worst possible way to go about it.

I disagree. bBut mostly I don't see how this is a story around an economy based on the extermination of sapient creatures. Most monsters ain't sapient. And the Xenos are something that happened relatively recently and most people don't even know about them

I have remember what the space time rift is exactly, but it seems like the Evangelist came from there and gave that woman in black her powers in the first place. And then, there's the possibility that she's been the one that's been shaping human culture and religion from behind the scenes for years. So in a way, you could consider her to be the real God. That's the enemy they have to face. That's what they're up against. Man, I didn't think that's how things would turn out.

Like I said before, there's a contradiction in the story of how the Tokyo Empire was created. Now The Holy Sol Temple is suspicious along with Hajima Industries. And Shinra's right, if the Evangelist did aid humanity in the past, why try to destroy it now? There's so much that's still unknown. Another great episode.

Lol the armageddon, rocky and edward scissorhands bits, cant say i expected that. So far Kamisama day is hands down my AOTS. i havent liked any of Maedas original anime but maybe this will be the one.

Digimon Adventure Episode 20: A very good episode. Seeing Velgrmon again was cool and he got to do several of his iconic attacks from Frontier. Having the heroes have to fight in unconventional ways like WereGarurumon riding a missile and MetalGreymon using his Trident Arm as a grappling hook was awesome and even Yamato got in on the action. I got unexpectedly emotional when Angemon descended to protect Takeru only to use up all his strength and "die". T_T

And then the stinger came with SkullKnightmon crashing the party. Hmm...considering he's been nerfed down to Champion Level, could we be seeing a Jogress to DarkKnightmon soon in order to fight the heroes? :O

Higurashi 4: so we finally went anime original in the surprisingly early finale of the arc. Tbh original onikakushi was much better than this one, both VN and DEEN. in onikakushi the tension and paranoia slowly builds until shit naturally hits the fan, here we’re like a little over halfway and suddenly HEEEERES RENA, The End.

Yes, at the same time it's interesting what made Rena snap, which implies this was a combination of Onikakushi and Tsumihoroboshi and other changes that imply knowing all the answers from the past won't help Rika avoid disaster in Gou as easily as it was assumed. I see the big Rena moment as a distraction of the more subtle stuff that has happened in the episode. Like what killed Satoko and Rika? Doesn't seem the job of the usual culprits. And Hinamizawa wasn't gassed. All said, I'm looking foward to the Watadamashi

Yeah, it's not doing anything for me either. From K8's lack of reaction to anything to the highly unsubtle in-your-face expressions of characters responding in an ominous way, it all just feels...bland. It doesn't help that all the slice of life interactions come off as incredibly obnoxious. Guess it only took me 12 years to figure that last one out.

Akudama drive is so weird. The plot is nothing special, but the animation is so well done. That hotel room fight was so good. I think I'm going to keep watching it just for that.

Rika probably saw Keiichi freaking out and was "oh shit, here we go again with the onikakushi bullshit" and focused on babysitting him, so she missed that rena was actually freaking out too and it wasnt just all in K1's head like usual. Renas trigger is her dad and Rina (lmfao that shot of her listening in on their sex in the ED), so I guess something happened offscreen on that front. Or maybe she saw an alternate universe flashback like K1, but instead of going noooo i must horobosu my tsumi, she just went le killer loli mode cause her syndrome is stronger.
