Speaking of, with Yae the developers finally managed to create a character whose E teleport ability moves where you want it instead of a fixed direction like Ganyu's. Please God please retroactively give this to her and the rest, it's so much comfier

Just finished Raiden's new story quest, pretty great. Prob my favorite story quest out of the current ones atm.

The timing of Hoyoverse rebranding and the huge lore dump in the quest which references Honkai, I see what they're doing there.

The whole deal with time shenanigans of Ei, Makoto and the sakura tree seed are references to some key concepts in Honkai that happened to become quite relevant in its latest storyline (it's complicated), Ayato shares voice actor with a key antagonist in Honkai as well as the renaming to Hoyoverse, and a scrapped version of the traveler's backstory from Genshin 1.0 beta indirectly confirming Genshin and Honkai are part of an expanded universe (think Tsukihime and Fate, shares some similar elements but each leads to different storylines).

Also Ei vs the puppet (referencing Raiden Mei fighting the Herrscher of Thunder form of herself, which is the inspiration for the puppet's boss form)

Qiqi is cracked after all.

My lv90 full crown Qiqi has been in all of my teams other than the Abyss tryhard, never disappoints. She's the char that got me into the game in the first place.

I still haven't played the quest, but I'm hanging onto on the theory that

Teyvat and/or the Travellers are the ARK project, and that the reason Celestia nukes the shit out of Khaenriah and visitors from outside is that they're keeping the Honkai from detecting/spawning in Teyvat.

I for one hope the story doesn't tie in too much onto HI because I'm tired of expanded universes, but nods are always nice and they did bring us Yae and Raiden so

On the other hand Honkai is chock full of unrepentant lesbianism so maybe we can get a few more crumbs of that.

Actually this is the Travelers' original backstory during genshin beta, that was changed upon release:

Which makes sense considering MHY said Genshin was originally planned to be Honkai sequel, but they scrapped the idea and make it into its own thing. So either they indeed changed their mind about it, or had to remove such spoilers to eventually come back to it later in Genshin's main story, in a way that only makes genshin a distant reference to Honkai and not 100% Honkai fest, cuz putting it there would not make any sense for Genshin-only players.

so far, I wish Yae Miko's E was smoother, casting 3 of those takes a lot of time and I'm getting smacked with wide attacks

The problem isn't that it's timeconsuming, since they do decent damage. The issue is the same as Sara's E, which is that there are no iframes on the skill. However Yae spends far more time doing her E than Sara does, making the issue far worse for her than it is for Sara. It's a very stupid oversight.

Finally have done the enkanomiya event along with its 3 stages mission. Some interesting thing through the story about

the the Snek's vassals and that the Pyro Lector has his own interest and goal compare to the rest

more history between Enka and Watatsumi. Strange though that Vishaps is considered to be being of pure elemental energy yet attack from vision with the same element as them still do damage gameplay wise
