Case files is the pratical demonstration that any Type Moon work centered exclusively on the Association would be incredibly boring. I think it's, like the second or third worst between all the mediocre fate spin offs.

Yup. Waver is cool, luvia, caules or others are cool supporting characters like in other spin offs but the association as main settin is just a bore ,

Waver's only boring after the 4th War. Beforehand when he's a tiny ball of conflicting inferiority complex and overinflated ego, he's great. It's hard to make a character compelling when he's already gone through his story arc.

He was born boring, he'll die boring.

And the only reason he looked even slightly interesting during the 4th was because the Incredible Bulk was standing around shining his somewhat homoerotic spotlight all over him.

I don’t think I ever sat down to properly watch Case Files or read.

the literal only scene I watched randomly was Waver ‘meeting’ Rider one last time, so I kind of feel most of the ultimate reason for Case Files is to lead up to that (since otherwise, new stuff like Gray doesn’t really interest me)

He's a bitter grumpy man who wants to be cool but knows he isn't.

He's the nerd who knows all the theory of how to be a cool baseball player and collects all the cards but has a bad heart or something. He deals with wacky woohoo people like Flat, and hey he's a bretty cool detective.

Even if one hates Waver for whatever reason, Case Files is certainly a worthwhile read. It's better than anything else we have atm.

Power levels are a yes and no answer honestly. It really depends. Even without changing anything about them the original servants are still the top of the mountain.

shounen super escalation without elegance is a thing in FGO however.

As far as FGO goes I’m personally in a semi-hibernation until we get something else at this point for TM stuff.
