Looking it up it does not surprise me that the writer for Persona 4 Arena (where Naoto made that erroneous claim) does not appear to have worked on the Persona series prior to 4-Golden and thus I doubt he's played much of the older games otherwise he would have known that statement was absolutely preposterous.

Persona: the aspect of someone's character that is presented to or is perceived by others.

Shadow: an unconscious aspect of the personality that the conscious ego doesn't identify in itself, or the entirety of the unconscious.

But on the topic of Persona, everyone has a Shadow. That's why you fight them in P4 for each character to awaken their Persona. I'm pretty sure Tatsuya and co in P2 already had their Personas when they fought their Shadows.

It sounds fucked up on paper but I agree actually. It is intended to be, I mean you have tons of scenes of heroic murder in the game and this is deliberately not framed that way.

Its not supposed to be heroic murder, its unfortunate circumstances over a long time that culminated into what was yes, a homicide(although if we had a lawyer who was keyed into magecraft, I think being a hobbled together experiment meant the trigger finger was unstable on her "gun", so that is still in the realm of an accident).
But realistically, even if you gave him the plea of insanity as well, when Sakura was exhausted from the past two weeks, possessed of a darker entity, and literally tried to talk the boy off the cliff before he went hog wild, with her also being injured at the time and still trying to talk him out of it as he was bashing her in the face, the legal council on his side would have no leg to stand on.
Even worse when he had cognitively exacerbated her body's issues as well as kept the secret of abuse hidden. If you laid this case out, the prosecution would be hard pressed for trying to get incarceration or restitution from her.

The UBW H-scene was bad, but I liked how bad it was, since it fit into the dynamic of Rin and Shirou at the time, and it was somewhat comical, which I think worked in context. A passionate, good sex scene just made less sense.

It's only after she has sex with Shirou that she recovers a smidgen of assertiveness, and then comes in Shinji like the hammer that's gonna bring down the nail that stuck out, saying that he's going to hurt Shirou by telling him all the awful things he has done to Sakura. Then you have Sakura firmly rejecting Shinji, whose shocked reaction leads you to believe that is far from the normal way the conversation usually plays out.

So I believe that Sakura's murderous intent wasn't something she usually had towards Shinji. It was something that boiled up in the spur of the moment out of a combination of 'he wants to hurt Senpai' and 'he wants to defile the tiny bit of happiness I was just given'. If Shinji hadn't been such a screaming baby about his lack of magecraft and been his 'calmer' personality, this probably wouldn't have happened as they are noted to get along well after the end of UBW.

Sakura is such a weird character sometimes. She seems to have a saintly patience and tolerance, even affection, for someone like Shinji who she should hate the living guts of. I guess it's because she understands him while Shinji doesn't understand her, so she knows that his situation is rather pitiful and can't bring herself to despise him.

Her Dark Sakura side makes a lot more sense, even with the mental corruption of Angra Mainyu bleeding through, you still see all the resentment she holds for her sister and even Shirou as well. She just keeps those kinds of feelings bottled up normally, I suppose.

i dont think that makes her weird, is as you said , shinji is an asshole but he is also a victim on his own, then she pity him, and is not like she is a natural murderous person without AM doing its thing , and she is much stromger than people give her credit for, but also as you said, once shiro says he loves her back, that quite changes thing, and when shinji theatens to destroy it for her , she says "enought " and snaps. Shinji is not beyond redemption, he survives one rute after all, but in HF he had it coming for being such a baby

Sakura is weird because she's internalized two contradictory emotional states about her situation. On one hand, she just resignedly accepts her situation and even feels some compassion for her fellow victim and abuser, Shinji, yet she also resents everyone around her for not saving her, even as she also hates herself for being polluted and not worth saving. I suppose HF is basically one long, dangerous therapy session where she untangles all of those contradictory states of mind and picks a lane that makes HER happy.
