I wouldn't even call this a remake. It's more like an updated rerelease.
looks like they tried that zelda remake, but worse texture
Spoiler:
Wandering on internet
Defo looks unpolished.
I'll let further trailers tell me whether I should get this or not. Probably not gonna be a day 1 purchase even if I do decide to buy it so I can also take a look at it after it comes out to make the final call.

Me: "Hmm...Maybe I'm being a little too harsh. I'll wait until another trailer and-"
GameStop: "Yo bruh, pre-orders for the game are available."
Me: "M'kay, I'll just take a little looks and...WHAT!? Eighty Dollars!? Yer havin a fookin laugh m8."

Indeed. I thought I'd be nice and convert it into American dollars for you all.
I did not consider the possibility that video games could be more expensive over here.

For me it's listed at 79.99, but for some reason Nintendo is the only online store that charges taxes on after the listed price, so it ends up as $92 instead.

Console titles can be 40$ though.
The N. Sane Trilogy was 40. Curious that that game is a remake too. Not of one game, but 3, from the ground up. And they charged 40$ for it.
GF are just learning from their Senpai, who charged 60$ for an emulated re-release of 3 Mario games.

However the Mario collection contains two of the best regarded games in their genre. Where does Gen IV rank normally in pokemon polls?

The Mario collection be was still a huge ripoff if only because Nintendo just pasted the games together and didn't even bother touching up the graphics to HD. That, and the UI was boring.

The language of the trailer and accompanying presentation was enough.
And the NST doesn't? It's very simple. One was a complete graphical rework from 0 and cost 40 bucks, the other was copy-paste no changes whatsoever and cost 60 bucks.
Yes Mario 64 and Galaxy are fucking great but that collection did not get the effort it deserved, and therefore it shouldn't even be worth 40, much less 60.
Ppl's favorite Gen changes overtime. Until ORAS everyone's favorite Gen was Gen 3. Nowadays everyone's in love with Gen 4 and 5. It'll change in the coming years.
Though Gen 4 is my personal favorite Gen.
It was enough.
FRLG - Same engine and mechanics as RSE and unrestricted connectivity to those games.
HGSS - Same engine and mechanics as DPPt and unrestricted connectivity to those games.
ORAS - Same engine and mechanics as XY and only slightly restricted connectivity to those games (can't use the Mega-evolutions introduced in ORAS).
BDSP - Not even the same engine as SwSh
Given this, the fact no Dynamax was shown off in the trailer, the fact that there's been no update to the character designs unlike every other previous remake, and the fact that SwSh has a significantly cut down Dex, which impacts the overlap the two games can even have to begin with, I think there's every reason to be worried that this will be a literal 1-to-1 block-for-block remake of DP, with maybe some Pt elements thrown in, and absolutely zero connectivity to the current Gen games.
That being said I don't think that's entirely 100% terrible. If it is a 1-to-1 remake we might get the full National Dex up until #493. And honestly if it looked slightly cartoonier (ie more anime-like with cel-shading and black outlines) I would probably be all over it. And it is Sinnoh, so a part of me will always look at it and at least consider the possibility of purchase, even now, despite every logical fiber of my being telling me not to buy it.
Time will tell.

If HMs are still are thing then I refuse to touch it even if I saw it second-hand. :/

Confession time: I always preferred HMs to their silly replacements Gen 7 onward. Sure, it's more convenient, but it takes a bit from the "adventure" feel that having your Pokémon do these tasks provides. For example, you used to have to teach your Pokémon Fly in order to fast travel, just by that you can infer that you are teaching you Pokémon and using their power to progress. Now in Gen 8 you have a taxi service, in Gen 7 you had a, that isn't yours, that picked you up and flew you to your destination.because of course it's a fucking Charizardspecifically trained Charizard
The HM problem would've been easily solved if the HMs weren't part of a Pokémon's moveset, but instead special items you could assign to Pokémon in your party to grant them that ability outside of battle.
Though part of me always enjoyed building a team that balanced its utility in battle with its HM necessities without having to have an HM slave or switching your party around, I do understand it got ridiculous during Gen 4 with 8 HMs. Though nowadays you can send your Pokémon to the box on the fly so you can easily switch in an HM slave and then send it back so replacing HMs for their goofy replacements makes even less sense to me now.
TLDR: I don't really wanna see Staraptor Taxi Service, thanks.

Thank you. This is a real problem.

I am going to have to soundly disagree with this take, mostly because the Ride Pokemon services helped establish the fact that you live in an actual world where other people who aren't you have the same transportation needs and where society meets those needs. It also sells the idea of human and Pokemon working together much better than the whole HM slave nonsense.
