Gen IV stan all the way, so I'll stick with catching a Chimchar and raising the most kickass Infernape in all of Hisui.

Started Legend of the Galactic Heroes (14/07/23), pray for me.
Cyndaquil's probably my favorite starter of all, though my favorite region is Hoenn.
They're all cute.
Chimchar has best movepool IMO, but Cinderace is strictly the strongest fully-evolved starter because Libero.
It's Pokemon. If you need to rely on strength then you're playing the game wrong. You should be relying on switching and type advantage enough that any enemy will only take two shots to kill. Unless you're lacking the specific counter, but they tend to be broad enough that almost never happens.

Started Legend of the Galactic Heroes (14/07/23), pray for me.
That's the point. Both of those starters and their evolutions are incredibly versatile due to vast movepools and type change giving STAB for every move respectively. I mean, Chimchar learns Grass Knot, Thunder Punch, and more as a starter, and this only expands with Infernape's coverage and balanced attacking stats, and Cinderace literally changes type with Libero.
And then there's me just picking what looks coolest.

I haven't had that mindset since playing BW nearly 9 years ago. I may not have the time or skill to play competitive Pokemon, but I do follow it and know how it works.
I just pick what I like. And what I like is Johto. Cyndaquil, I choose you.
And if I find a Mareep in the wild I can guarantee you I'll catch it.

I uaually just pick whatever cool Pokemon I find. Fortunately for starters I recently finished US with Rowlett and Cyndaquil was one of my first ever Pokemon, so Oshawott (who I've never picked before) it is.
Or it will be, if I ever get a Switch, anyway.

Love the ancestors of Sinnoh dudes.
Looks mad interesting. The graphics I'm still a bit on the fence about. At times it looks gorgeous at others it resembles SwSh a bit too much.
But the region itself looks like it will be an absolute blast to explore.

So mechanically, Nobles are Totem Pokemon and Wardens are Trial Captains. I hope they also have the challenges the Alola trials had, I had a lot of fun with those compared to normal gym puzzles.

Also Akari was wearing Dawn's hairstyle for like one frame at the start of the barber shop section of the video. I wonder if you'll also be able to get Dawn and Lucas's clothes, as like a special unlock or something.
It seems the Wardens are culturally different from the Galaxy Recon Squad, and probably are the Ainu to the latter's Japanese. Still, I am loving what we've seen and can't wait for more.
