Impressive how they managed to keep every shit regional variant secret and only revealed good ones before release.

The legends are atrocious but I'll hold my judgment because it's clearly a fusion thing so I imagine they'll look better in game somehow.

Alolan Decidueye is my favorite Pokémon, so my attachment makes it impossible not to love Hisuian Decidueye, but I can't say he isn't a downgrade.

Nah, I'm waiting to see him in-game and with the flames. I haven't looked at anything but the dex list in case I do end up buying it after all.

Also, I'm seeing a lot of the pre-release hate dying out. I'm starting to get hopeful that the game is actually good.
Weird to see this after Sword killed all my goodwill towards Pokémon.

I'm so torn on which starter to take.

I've gone back and forth between Typhlosion for his awesome new typings, or one of the other two that I didn't really use (never played Sun/Moon, and didn't get far in Black/White before hating it (I really need to try B2/W2, I've heard it fixes basically every single issue I had with it)).

This is compounded further by looking at the list of Pokemon available, and this possibly being the only game other than Gen 1 with wild Fire types that I actually don't mind. On the other hand, there's basically no Water types I like other than the two Water starters, and apparently you can't get the Piplup line until the third area/mid game. I guess Golduck is kind of neat, if I HAD to compromise, but I recall his moveset being horrid. Grass has both Torterra (area 2) and the new Electrode, and I think there was another Grass/Fighting to make Decidueye even more redundant... but he looks so cool.

So... guess I'm leaning towards Oshawatt?

Mainline pokemon has been exceptionally bad since X/Y and just by being something different this game has me huffing hopium. I was willing to try Sun/Moon even after how terrible X/Y were, but SM were such utter trash that I didn't for a second consider buying SwSh. This game I might actually give a chance to, because despite how much I hate gens 6/7 and how low of an outsider opinion I have on 8, I still like Pokemon and want Pokemon games to be good.

I'm in the minority that really likes X/Y. It was my favourite since Gen 2.

Great sound design, great region aesthetic, loads of fun with character customization and taking selfies in front of doomsday weapons. Shame I overused the EXP Share and rolled up to Diantha with a Lv. 80 team though.

I never did do the post-game for Sun unfortunately, but my main game experience was plenty of fun since melding the story with Lillie's character arc was genius. My biggest gameplay concern was this one cave where you had to hop down a bunch of different ledges like 20 times to get everything, that was cancer. Also the nerfed Strength puzzles.

Plus my boy Gallade got a badass Mega, god bless. X's Victory Road was really cool too with all of the different environments. Super Training was a great change of pace from Horde Battling for EVs too, especially if I wanted to do more finicky builds.
