I was browsing another forum and saw a comment on that trailer say "That doesn't look like Melty, it looks more like a Tsukihime fighting game" and can't really tell if that's funny becasue the person was oblivious, or if that's more indicative of how Melty diverged over time.

Seems like they're reusing moves from the old games, based on animations. It shouldn't be hard to get used to it if that's the case.

Didn't it seem like Sony was going to be the sponsor for Evo this time? Hell, that is even more likely to get a showing if their marketing department isn't asleep at the wheel, with Aniplex and Sony's relationship.
Its like the dominoes are all falling into place.

Also DH you're out of the loop. Evo will be happening again, it got acquired by Sony. Even if Evo doesn't run Melty as a main game (it has a very legitimate chance of being main stage though) it'll be run there anyway, due to the nature of Evo.

Well, I certainly hope you're right, although my fears run more along the lines of new and improved COVID cancelling everything for another year.

I doubt French Bread would go that far. We might see some characters as DLC though, I can see that happening.

As for the disappearance of the tats themselves, I must say I was never the biggest fan of them. Yea, they're paint, but that's the thing. They're plain paint, that Ciel has to put on and wash off like a muggle. That takes cool points away from them. Like Ciel is gearing up for battle, and then spends time painting that stuff on herself. Kinda dumb sounding innit. Now, maybe they could've made the paint magical or bound to the Scripture or something to give those cool points back, I would've been cool with that. But I'm not devastated that they're gone.
