Recommend Me An Anime

It's not about what I like, since normally I'd just randomly wander into a room and see what's going on. The idea is to find the widest scattershot of things I either had no idea existed, or that I had nostalgia for and hadn't seen in a very long time. Which is why the only things I'm really throwing out are the one's I've seen in the last year.


Like that time I was in a room and a random episode of Milky Holmes came on out of nowhere. I had no idea what the hell was going on, and didn't really follow up on it, but that memory of trying to make sense of a bunch of magical girl detectives going about a SoL about farming is forever burned in.

I'll skip out on Anglemois because it's pretty recent, so fresh in my memory, and it's also not good enough to push past that hurdle.

Looks like I've gotten about as many responses as I'm going to get here. Though if you guys have any more, toss them out. Looks like I've got a long weekend coming up net week so anything up until Friday will probably get put on there still.

I'm a little surprised someone else actually recognizes that show to be honest. In my case after Soul Eater I think it was even one of the first anime I ever watched.

When I first "really" got into anime and manga (as opposed to just Naruto and Bleach), I was majorly into AMVs and generally used them as inspiration on what to watch. There's a really good one that convinced me to give C a go, and after that the concept is memorable enough that apparently I still remember of it (although I don't think I got past the first 2-3 episodes).

Huh, I was never into AMVs so I pretty much just decided to check out the series because the idea of economics interpreted through basically Pokemon battles sounded endearingly offbeat and I heard the animation was pretty good. Funny thing was I knew hardly anything about economics at the time and only later heard the show was basically a big pro-austerity author tract (the main villain's evil scheme was basically flooding Japan's market with new currency because he was hellbent on preserving "the present" at the cost of sacrificing "the future"/increasing debt). Still a fun watch though.

The most obscure anime I've ever seen (and therefore the ones you are least like to have seen) are probably either the Digital Devil Story OVA, which I watched on youtube or the original Cutey Honey and its sequel, Shin Cutey Honey. I watched Cutey Honey on animefever and Shin Cutey Honey on youtube

Thanks everyone for making a memorable (okay, I can't recall a good chunk of what I watched) entertaining long weekend for me. Normally after a convention I come back with maybe four or five new shows to check out, and after this weekend my Plan to Watch has ten new entries. Then again I also watched way more stuff than I ever would at a convention where I have things to distact me from anime like panels to argue about Gundam opinions, a dealers room to waste money on figures I could get off Amazon, or a bar where I have to go every few hour to top up my buzz. Like Holy Fuck, 63 shows.
