Digimon Adventure Episode 56: This was a very samurai episode, gave me a lot of Ghost of Tsushima vibes. Zanbamon was a Digimon I couldn't take very seriously in the past due to his horse body but this episode did its best to make him look fierce. I nearly didn't realise it was Hiroshi Kamiya as Strabimon, not enough shouting clearly (lol). I was glad they made the reason behind Gabumon becoming CresGarurumon different from BlitzGreymon so it didn't feel too repeated. I did like the subtle touch of Izzy discreetly calling in Taichi as backup since he knew Yamato wasn't the kind of guy to ask for help when he needs it, definitely worked a whole lot better than Taichi randomly teleporting in last episode. The final battle between Zanbamon and CresGarurumon was very Samurai with the single slash cut and delayed reaction of Zanbamon's decapitation.

Next week I'm very curious about as the title makes it seem like we might get a glimpse of who's behind everything yet we saw Algomon attacking Agumon so very curioser.

In terms of Meikyuu Black Company, necromancy tends to have lower MP cost than Command Humanoid for the same magnitude of spell, so that plan would be better when using corpses.

Dead Detective: Nagi is really annoying. I called from the start that she had Siesta's heart, so I'm glad they didn't drag that reveal out. LMAO at Bat being Hannibal, though. And poor Kimi, he's encountered a Vtuber.

Realist Hero: fun show so far, I am liking the angle that it is the princess that is learning stuff alongside the viewers instead of the isekai MC.

Detective: I miss Siesta already. The second episode is dull so far, except for the super terrorist guy.

Battle in 5 Seconds: Low budget, but they're trying. Mion's voice was way less than I thought it would be in the trailer, so that's a blessing. I wasn't sure of Ayumu Murase but he's doing a good job.

It's really weird that when the teacher started talking in Opera Girls, I spent like five minutes trying to figure out how I knew that voice. I kept flip flopping between Archer and Eraserhead from MHA, not realizing until I later looked it up that Suwabe also voices Eraserhead.

Love Live looks to have cut their cast down to 5, maybe this will make them more memorable than last season. MC seems fun, Chinese girl is a bit much. Looks like they're keeping the normal 'the student council keeping them down and then joining up after the first arc' plotline, which makes it 4/4.

I still don't know what kind of show Detective is Dead actually is. Seeing as this episodes mystery centres on Revolver Ocelot's Ghost Arm, there's not a whole lot of mystery going on. It's not really a good sign when most of the episode had me thinking about how I should really rewatch Angel Beats, rather than anything interesting the show is attempting.

5 Second Battle feels pretty weak as a premise. Outside of the the villains plan of creating a group of people with superpowers who's only real goal will be mess up anything you try out of spite and ultimately kill you, the MC's power is too OP. I like having to see characters out think their opponents, but it's more satisfying seeing someone turn a useless power into something usable, than having a god mode power with some set up conditions.

While I was watching that CG battle anime I started wondering why anime CG always seems so still and out of place, while anime as hell video games don't have that problem. Maybe it's the fact all games have a similar art style, while anime is CG models on 2D backgrounds?

Goddess Dormitory is great. Holy shit. And HiDive has the full uncesored release with nipples, yes. So, no need to wait for someone to put their subs in AT-X's video
Night Head and D_Cide Traumerei look great, really Sanzigen and Shirogumi are the CG studios I'd say are as great as Orange, if not even better.
Getter Arc is tons of fun right now. This is clearly made by people who love the manga and Getter in general, even if they don't have the time or staff needed to make it the best it could be

So, Sonny Boy. What The Fuck did I just watch? The interpersonal stuff was easy to parse, but I have no idea what was happening outside of that.

Godess Dorm: Holy shit, this is just shota porn, isn't it? And not even good porn, since it always seems that the more explicit shows never get the fanworks that a more chaste show does, so they end up being too explicit for regular viewers but too explicit for fanworks to bother.

Uramichi continue to hit the fucking bullseye.

Black Company feels like someone took Kazuma Sato and wondered what would happen if he was less lazy and thus more prone to schemes.I could absolutly see him doing everythime this MC does, only Kazuma would have just become a bum rather than overworking himself. Aside: was the whole second episode about a capitalist creating communism to fuck up a monarchy?

Wow, Opera Girls went fucking hard this episode. Was not expecting that. I doubt I'll ever see an idol show deal with any one of the three (four?) things brought up in this one episode? And here I thought it would be a while before an idol show topped the drama of the samurai flashback in Zombieland 2.

Digimon Adventure Episode 57: Hoo boy, that was an ominous episode. The final boss is finally rearing his head and I like that it ties back to the starter enemy Algomon so that things feel like they're coming together. Cool that they gave Algomon (Perfect) a proper speaking role, I wonder if he'll be a proper enemy to fight or just serve as a mouthpiece for his Creator. Since Taichi has embodied "Courage" moreso than any of the other kids with their Crests, I did like that the writers flipped it around so that in the Taichi/Agumon episode it was Agumon who had to take the initiative and show some courage, made it feel more like a two-way partnership.

Next week though, are we getting another one-off Side-Evolution perhaps?

Vanitas shouldn't go around saying that he's "just a human" when the truth is that he's technically a ghoul. Not as powerful as a complete vampire, but still. In terms of Shaman King, I like how the current voice for Boris is Ryōtarō Okiayu AKA the voice of several vampires, including Alucard, Dracula, and Ludwig.

It's a victim of the stupid decision to scramble the episode airing order in broadcast. Chronologically PBR broadcast episode 3 is episode 9. There's a lot being skipped, which the anime has to get to eventually

Digimon Adventure Episode 58: It's been a while since we had an exclusively Hikari focused episode. I guess Petaldramon's corpse is becoming a new Village of Beginnings with all the Digitama springing up lol. Soulmon is definitely one of those variants that I always forget exist but whatever, SkullBaluchimon was much cooler and I love the continuity of having the soul of the actual Baluchimon put to rest after the former was destroyed. Like sister like brother, Hikari got the silhouette of her partner's Mega instead of actually transforming into it but it was cool nonetheless.

Next week though, Izzy finally gets off his butt and helps and HeraklesKabuterimon is coming.
