Grand Saber is Saber...'s ahoge. It kinda looks like a sword. Also it turns out that the original prehistoric Saberface is South American, and the ahoge is actually an offshoot of the space parasites which dispersed across the world and granted divine power to "worthy individuals" across time and space.

Any ideas for grand berserker? I had an idea of someone so insane that he achieved enlightenment as grand berserker one time.

Authority over the beasts and stuff.
Noah as grand is just the most obvious. He has one of the most famous rides ever AND all the animals in there. He hits both marks. Only other one that might compete for the spot in the fandom is Genghis Khan as the most successful conqueror, having double the land of Iskandar or Timur.

Noah as the Grand Rider does tie into the lore of the Divine Trees too.

But not the way you might expect.

Basically, the Ark is a vessel which contained two of each species on earth. It acted as a time capsule of sorts which allowed the world to be repopulated after the flood. The Divine Trees as repositories of data regarding living species and evolution on earth, existed to fulfill the same function. But were obviously destroyed with few exceptions when the White Titan did White Titan things.

Meaning that by building the Ark, and by having it hold every species of animal on earth, Noah created his own artificial Divine Tree.

And that's my reason in-verse for why he's Grand Rider.

I know you guys are set on Astoria/Arthur being Grand Saber, but I actually do think male Musashi has a pretty good chance of being a candidate for Grand Saber. I mean, Musashi is someone who did a lot for Japanese swordplay as a whole. Even if he's not the top candidate, he is definitely still a candidate.

I do everything to serve the purpose of developing my own lore for the series. He wouldn't be the only canon Grand Servant that I can draw connections to the Trees. Why, Romulus' NP directly mentions that his own mother, Rhea Silva, had a dream of a Great Tree which symbolized Rome. And his own spear is capable of controlling and creating massive trees, act the same time being connected to Rhongomyniad as being capable of pinning down a texture on the World.

Meh, Saber Hercules would be pretty boring. He would just be a sane Berserker versions, it's not like he got any special feats with a sword or a magical one.

I mean. What would the credentials even be for a Grand Berserker? Someone who is so mad they go right back to sane? Someone who didn't go mad so much as been born mad? Someone who made the most damage while angry, like destroyed the world or something? There's so many ways you can go about. Maybe the first Berserker on record. Or the one who originated the condition of Berserker? The only kinda theory we have about Grand Berserker is that they MIGHT be the one chilling with Daybit over at the South America Lostbelt.

Maybe someone in a constant state of insanity regardless of how that insanity was manifests.

Well, we have only seen Romulus as a Lancer. Orion is definitely Archer-only. So is King Hassan. And we don't imagine Noah as anything other than a Rider. The only one who throws a monkey wrench on this is Gilgamesh, who claims he could be Grand Caster, while being elligible for the Archer Class. And the latest servant, who claims they also classify for Grand Caster if they hadn't been summoned as a Rider.

But we're still waiting on that last one to pan out on whether he is telling the truth.

I like the idea that Grands are locked to only one Class.

Mm. I get why that would be a thing - my own reasoning would be that Grands are essentially the purest expression of what it means to be their Class and therefore are precluded from being any other Class.

On the other hand, I tend to think Grands are more meant to be the ultimate embodiment of some role and then a Class is more or less retroactively chosen for that. Orion is the greatest hunter to ever walk the earth and a hunter fits most with an Archer, so he's eligible for Grand Archer. King Hassan is the greatest killer ever and hence is not only Grand Assassin but the only Grand Assassin, since it's the main archetype of the Assassin Class.

If you think about it, the 7 Classes are basically broader, distilled versions of the Grand Servants.
