I will take the opportunity to opine, in my usual way that legally establishes everything I say as fact, that Beasts are overrepresented as bosses. We've basically overcome them in FGO so far by a series of Counter Force-mandated flukes. Without a metaphysical power bending the odds in our favour all the time, staring down a Beast is like a sentence staring down a period. They aren't stepping stones, they're the means by which mankind cuts its own knot. You can write a boss as something besides a Beast, and there'd be plenty of meaning in that just because it isn't one.

I even wrote a Great Beast specifically to be an unwinnable fight for the post-game for when we inevitably do squeeze our way through VII with tremendous effort and massive casualties. "Then why are you saying they're overrepresented if you go out of your way to make even more" because im a hypocrite shut up

tl;dr - "Beast" means something specific thematically. You might get more milage by selecting a different classification for the guy with the big HP bar.

And if you wanna sell a sheet just by the merit of the power-level, you better beware why and what you are doing.
There are other ways to hype up someone as tremendous and larger than life than to slap a Grand or Beast in their title.

On the topic of goku. just realized that the best character to make a goku type figure would be sun wukong due to him being the literal inspiration for goku and pretty much creating the archetype of the shonen protagonist. I’m actually pretty sure that sun wukong could be considered the primordial shonen protagonist who inspired all other shonen protagonists.

Didn't Gilgamesh in Babylonia outright say that the Beasts aren't threats to destroy humanity, but obstacles for humanity to overcome or something along those lines?

He did, but that's because transhumanism rather than because they're doomed to fail. Otherwise there'd be a lot of contradictions in their nature as personifications of the self-destruct switches burned into the human condition.
