Servant/Project Idea Thread, "The Womb"

I wanted to ask how many people would be interested in a 'Create a Heroic Spirit in a non-Fate setting' thread? (Obviously I'm using the term 'Heroic Spirit' for convenience) It could be for existing franchises, like Civilization, the Koei Warriors series, Assassin's Creed, Shin Megami Tensei/Persona, etc., or it could be for your own settings, which is what I have in mind

Asking here since I wasn't sure where else to. Don't know if I can expect much interest, since this is a Type-Moon fan site, but I don't think there's any harm in asking

I've already rewritten my Black Dahlia profile on my blog if an example sheet would help people. Most of my Servant sheets admittedly don't reference Nasuverse lore that much beyond the basics, which luckily makes them easy to adapt and tweak for non-Fate/ settings

I don't see what the point would be. Servants are intrisically tied to the Nasuverse, and trying to put them in another setting would just make them more generic by removing the elements distinguishing the universe. And if you want to make a different universe like the one in your example, Lostbelts and alternate universes like Musashi already exist.

Well, the thing is that it doesn't sound very fun. And I think you're not finding much because that's all there is on Hiroari: he was said to shoot a weird bird and served Prince Kaneyoshi in the civil war between the Southern court and the Ashikaga Shogunate. Having to work with absurdly obscure people is the risk of wanting to make a sheet just because they're mentioned in a Touhou song title.

That said, I guarantee there are lines to make sense of it. That's how I felt about my Manji Manzaburo before I opened up a whole can of worms. My first step for any obscure story is to search them up in their native language.

I mean, there are stories that have mythic/historical figures summoned into the present and wielding superhuman abilities loosely based on their feats in life outside the Nasuverse. I could see wanting to write up a figure in Record Of Ragnarok style for instance. That said I don't quite see the point of this basically Fate with the serial numbers filed off approach. Even if you're writing an RP or something for people not familiar with the Nasuverse I don't get why you couldn't still just use the original terms rather than inventing new more generic ones that convey the same effect.

Question: Can anti-heroes be turned into alters? I distinctly remembered there was a Blackbeard alter sheet where he was a total gentlemen who hated his normal self. And two, would a alter of Gorgon just be Medusa Lily?

'Alter' denote a Servant being modified by something, not an 'evil' version. So no, a modified Medusa wouldn't be her Lily form because that's not how it works. Lily doesn't mean a good counterpart either, just a younger version.

I just thought that since Gorgon is Medusa fully as a monster then her alter would be similar to her Lily form where she was still a goddess.

There might not be a rule that alters must be evil but that's their whole aesthetic. If they're not evil you should call them something else.
