Hello! I'm pretty new to the server and love Fate, so I've got some project ideas I'd like to maybe share.

Hello! That's a cool concept for a newcomer's 1st sheet, let's see how this is gonna go.

By the way. Could Harlan Ellison be made as a Servant for a Grail War or is he WAY too modern? I know in canon he couldn't, but what about in fics?

His death is way too recent for me to be comfortable with it personaly, and what would you even do with a TV writer? If you just want to give him Star Trek stuff, we got a modern fiction thread so you can skip the middle man.

My plan was to give him "I have no mouth and I must scream" as his phantasm. He'd also have a skill based on his incredibly contentious personality.

Then you'd be better off doing AM or something in the modern fiction thread, honestly, rather than caricature a guy who died four years ago. Especially if it's to give him 'has a shitty personality' as an ability. And we don't do reservation on contest. As long as they can give prompts and are ready to answer others, anybody can take part.

I think there were plans for one this year, but in the end, we have a regular monthly contest going on instead. The prompt this month is "syncretism".

Its not to do that, but if he ever was a servant, Shitty Personality would DEFINITELY be included somewhere in the sheet as its one of the things he's known for. However, I see how it would be disrespectful to him.

He wouldn't have a sheet in the first place, because he would never be a Servant anyway. And 'being a jerk' is not a skill, so if that's all you can think of, then that just show further he's not Servant material.

Having many different histories and mythologies in the same setting means that Type Moon often has to draw connections and justify the existence of different figures by conflating them. Sometimes though, real life has already done it for them.
The prompt for this month's contest is Syncretism, the combination of different faiths and beliefs. Let's put the phantom fusions and high servntas aside for a minute and take a look at what kind of stuff real life came up with... Or not, justify that syncretism yourself! Draw connections no one's seen before, just be convincing enough!

There's plenty of other things you can give him. I'm just saying that one of the things I would give him would be some kind of innocent monster based on his reputation. I'm not going to make him, but hypothetically, if I did, he would have that skill in some form.
