Servant/Project Idea Thread, "The Womb"

What immediately came to mind was King Crimson from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Vento Aureo with how the Boss sees the future via a kind of stroboscopic motion photography imagery and how only he can move freely within the ten seconds whilst everyone else has to fill out their predetermined actions.

Like the Stanley Parable, huh... another angle, then.

Maybe the predestination thing isn't as strong as we think, and rather than outright dictating the person's every action, the higher power can only telepathically whisper "scripts" for the person to follow. So long as the person follows this script, they will receive a bunch of useful buffs (damage reduction/partial invul, pseudo-immortality, atk boost, etc.) depending on what the situation requires. However, the more this person deviates from the script, the more the higher power punishes them by making sarcastic comments in their head and debuffing their abilities at potentially important moments. I picture this person as someone who's very stoic/emotionless from the get-go, so nine out of ten, they'd still follow the script even if the higher power technically isn't forcing them to do it. If summoned in a war, the greatest challenge for their enemies is to either get this person to develop a conscience/stronger sense of self, or use any method available to distract them from following the script. They'd still have to deduce what the "script" even is before they can pull that off, though.

Well that circles back to the question of predeterminism and how much supposed agency Pocoloco has over his own actions versus Enya prophesizing his great success.

An interesting debate to be sure, but that's a discussion for another time since it's off topic.

Eh... true. Not sure how to get around that. One idea could be to have the family steal the Grail from Darnic while he steals it from the Nazis, but at this point it becomes a game of hot potato. Or Hot Grail, I guess. Another idea is that the Third Grail War just ends on a similar note to the Second Grail War, a failure that only strains the resources of the Three Families while ending with no victor. And in this frame of weakness, the family could sneak in and capture the Grail.

There are plenty of options, more importantly is to ensure this plot beat to get mcguffin from A to B actually means something rather than just so you can use this premise.

Well, rumors of my survival were greatly exaggerated.

And will continue to be greatly exaggerated because I am about to move my entire existence across the country for work.

But I do have a semi-finished contest entry for the one I missed that I'm going to chuck in the regular thread because it continues to live in my noggin, so here's a little hint as to what might be coming when I have time to sit my ass down and write again:

i'm planning on hosting a draw-off competition to serve as a follow-up to the Secret Santa competition.
Basically, the submissions of the competition will contain two elements: the winning servant of the Secret Santa competition, and a setting as described by the winner of the previous Draw-off(considering this idea survives)

ie (Bobby Fischer playing chess with James Moriarty Lily)
1. Bobby Fischer (winning servant of the Secret Santa 2022)
2. Playing Chess with James Moriarty Lily (example setting, hopefully a new one set by sutaa if this idea flies)

Medium can be variable, must make sure the submission is clear.
Rules that apply to usual competitions and voting systems apply as well, but since art is a very subjective thing, we can sort of figure something out.
Prep time is an entire year so don't worry about not being able to submit on time.
This competition would most likely share a thread with the Secret Santa competition since it's a follow-up competition, yea...

I greatly encourage people to take part in it, who knows you might be able to discover your creative flair here?
