I think the Crimson Moon was just Shiki looking so deep that he was about to touch on the truth of it all. I'd be surprised if this doesn't come up again. Wasn't Shiki doing something weird with Nero back in the OG too? He was like reading his thoughts or something. The retrocognition on Vlov might be some extension of that.

I'm like 90% sure that its a dog that Vlov turned into a familiar, hence why it disappeared.

Ya, that is what I suspect it will be. It makes the most sense. But man, would it be cool if that was just a subtle hint to the OG and Nero is actually prowling around.

Probably more easily explained by Kohaku and Akiha lying. Remember Kohaku actually helps cover up Shiki's murder of Arcueid, all while trying to convince him nothing happened. They're probably intentionally trying to keep Shiki in the dark.

SHIKI being the the 18th Roa (original + 17 reincarnations), like the 800 years thing, is leftovers from the old lore, which shouldn't be there if that part of the script had a bit
more polish.

Ciel gets the XV label from Roa and the Quinze derogatory nickname from the Church, so I think we can be sure Ciel is 15 and Caps is 16, with Mike Origin being 0 instead of 1.

It does definitely does get a bit annoying that disparities like this exist in the text. Because right before the 16 reincarnations thing (new lore) is a statement about him reincarnating for 800 years (old lore). Please... Nasu...

Arcueid did detect Arach in Ciel’s route, when she spent a whole day in the mansion waiting for Shiki to come back from school.

Keep in mind that there's a strange contradiction of the timing of when Roa reincarnates, for example it was 2001 when Roa Elesia participated in that ritual, but since the Remake is supposed to take place in 2014, that means SHIKI was already born by that point in time.

It appears to be the case that when a version of Roa dies, his next incarnation has potentially already been born. Most likely due to Reincarnation not being bound by time. Meaning that extra time could have compounded into the 800 years mentioned, if we include the time that Roa's original personalities have not yet been subsumed. Thoughts?

Keep in mind that the wiki is unreliable at the best of times, but... it would explain why Shiki and Arc could face the Dead in broad daylight without them being harmed. And that info does come from the most recent update to the wiki thanks to the remake, so it might be trustworthy...

Also, it's a bit more like an arc, where the lower ranks are less harmed by the sun, but stronger ranks gradually become resistant to those effects. According to the wiki though, which as I've already said, is unreliable.
