Servants don't go against that because they represent "progress built on the feats of the past". Without the giants of the past we'd both be nowhere and get nowhere, and so Servants summoning literally represents the "lending of power from tradition", just in a much more tangible way. At the same time they make a big deal out of even though servants are used like that, they cannot be the ones to decide the future, only the humans of the current era may do that. This comes up time and time again, and is just a huge indicator that Nasu wants you to consider it like you need to make use of what the past has left for you in order to progress, but you need to not let the past dictate the course of future progression.

Yes but i also said magic and vampires as well

Would nasu make a work with no magic whatsoever, no vampires or servants or beasts

and no extra doesnt count as there is still blatant bleedover so they still count as magic, nor does notes count either

And there is also a argument to be made that there not really ghosts but clones of past figures who dont match up 1-1 due to the servant process and having updated information and views thus not being the original selves

I dont think that counts either as magecraft is mentioned to exist there and the brain of the moon thing as well

Also if the world is ended due to things from the past or systems using things from the past, and the world is fixed by those similar ways and only those in the old systems know, is it really humans deciding the future or the systems of the past?

And at what point is a person a thing of the past vs the present, Merlin is a living thing but he is also immortal, is he of the past or the present? what about Romani? his defeat of goetia utilized the mans of hte past and his servant self

I mean thats part of the point im making, and yes i know your being sarcastic

But what Im saying is, has any story that makes magic goes away or dislikes it yet is a fantasy actually done it well, I remember people disliking that one cartoon that had the magic go away that ended a year or two ago as it just made the protag a mass murderer

But apparently if you dress it up in pretentious logic its okay to a nasu fan

Every time I think I should rewatch Canaan, it's always late enough that I only get 3-4 episodes in before falling asleep.

But then what's the point? He might as well write a random work not set in it for all it's worth. Also, magic is nearly everywhere in that world, even with the diminishing of Mystery, it's subtly different from our world in that the magic has been interwoven with human history and culture the whole time.

I got into T-M with Melty, there's a new Melty, I am content.

As long as there is Melty, I'll care about T-M.

With most things set in alternative universes, Nasuverse is becoming more like comic book universes.

I started describing TM and Fate to my friends unaware of it as just Japanese Marvel a long time ago.

Wasn't it already a comic book universe around like 10 years ago? Also, I think japanese Tolkien is another good nickname. Wonder were the main differences lie, seen as even most of the alternate universes stem from some of the same core stuff.

TM is not "Japanese Tolkien." You will retract that statement or face the consequences.

Oh, a rare burst of seemingly genuine anger from Dullahan. Or at least real annoyance.

Actually, not surprised you're a Tolkien nerd.
