Lupin III episode 2: Glad they addressed the fact that "Sherlock Holmes" is a mantle and they even referenced the Sherlock Holmes the Third dude from a previous season. Goddamn, Holmes is a legend when he gets serious, his singlestick beat Goemon's swordsmanship, he can dodge Jigen's bullets and he can out car-fu Fujiko in a motorcycle chase. Calling it now that Lupin didn't really kill Watson and he's either alive or someone else killed him.

On the one hand I'm surprised we're just leaving these plot threads dangling for now and going back to episodic stuff, but at the same time this feels way too important to wrap up right now. Interesting that they don't seem to be repeating last season's gimmick of having the episodic episodes marked by a different jacket colour.

Fuck yeah, what a fantastic ep of 86. Shit got real. And so we wrap up vol 2 and move on to vol 3.

I think Raiden kinda got the short end of the stick here though, the anime didnt really let him show off his speciality. We've known since the start that Shin is the only mf crazy enough to use the close combat blades, Anju got to do her missile spam, Kurena had a cool sniping sequence and Theo showed off his Spiderman hit and run style. Oh well, still a superb ep. So happy with how the mechs move, that was one of my primary concerns with an 86 anime.

I just realized that there is an uncensored version of World's Finest Assassin episode 4 somewhere out there.

Digimon Ghost Game Episode 4: Hoh, a holidays episode actually taking place on said holiday, how very timely. Hiro reminds me a lot of my parents in that he is *not* curious about technology - if I had a Digivice I would be pressing every button combination to see what it was capable of. We got a lot of exposition this episode, so the grassy knoll isn't the Digital World but something like it akin to DigiQuartz and it's useful for forcing Digimon battles as there are no humans about and whatnot. I know that Hiro's father said he was fine, but I would have pressed Angoramon a bit harder on the Digital World and possible ways in or out if he was in the slightest danger. On to the threat of the episode and this is a real weird one as GG really seems conflicted on whether to commit to the horror theme or not as the first half was total slasher vibes with the bodies being dragged away but the second half became very silly with getting chased around by floating pumpkins and getting water sprayed at you by Ekakimon. Speaking of, I felt that really undermined Pumpkinmon by giving him a bunch of allies since his whole reason for being evil was that he was all alone. The fight scene with BetelGammamon was once again disappointingly short.

Anyways, next week is Kiyoshiro and Jellymon's introduction and I am curious to see how that one plays out.

Felix's face was pretty off-model while he was talking about how Musicart are JUST WEAPONS though, that's not a good sign.

Lupin III Episode 3: A pretty standard standalone episode by Lupin standards. I do like that they're giving Fujiko more to do these days by leaning in more to the whole cat burglar schtick. The best moment had to be when Zenigata stumbles across Jigen and Goemon eating and they just casually rip their faces off for a disguise...only to rip those faces off after the inspector's gone to reveal their true faces under a mask inception. XD

Muvluv: fantastic 3D action scene, some OK comedy thanks to funny faces that dont require any actual animation, but the overall 2D animations remains extremely poor and the storytelling is as FUBAR as always. But hey, cool robots! That makes it better than the last few episodes at least lmao

Kaginado: more funny nods to their porn roots and riki having more sex appeal than some of the heroines

86:Agree with what Raff said. This episode felt really...oppressive, I guess? Like the dread of Shin's situation is finally setting in, all the goodwill the Federacy showed them crumbling away in an instant and all that's left is the regret and loathing. In other words, really good episode. Haven't felt depression like this from a single episode in a long time.
Also, I think that drawing is supposed to depict Eugene's bloody corpse in the woods? At least that's what it seemed like to me.
