    Story Summary - Part 2

Part 2 - Manslayer and Manslayer

This section opens up with a flashback to "June 2nd, Tensho 10" (the date of the burning of Honnoji).

Mitsuhide has betrayed Nobunaga and set the fire. Mori Ranmaru is at Nobunaga's side, and is ordered to take Nobunaga's head and escape with it. If this is really Mitsuhide's doing, then there's no chance for Nobu to escape, but she won't let her head fall into his hands. After all, that would mean that his "empire" would finally come to pass. Ranmaru is ordered to escape with the head and then discard of it somewhere secret.

Back in SAITAMA, you remember that the reason you're here is to search for Nobu's head. Ranmaru says she was searching for something as well, but she can't remember what it was. However, she does react quite strongly to hearing about Nobu's head. She steps outside for some fresh air, and you follow, before being attacked by some real burly dude. He says he's there to capture you, and when he goes to cut down Ranmaru, you jump try and take the blow for them.

Fortunately for you, Mori made it outside and took the blow in your stead, though he had to leave Chacha inside to fight off a bunch of chibi nobus that appeared (the start of the second arrow is a flashback explaining this as well). The burly man says he'll spare the rest if you surrender yourself, and since Mori can't fight anymore, it's up to Ranmaru to do it. However, before she can do anything, another person appears, offering you her services (for cheap prices such as 100M or 10M QP) to help out. Fortunately, she also offers a free trial service. She seems to be affiliated with Takasugi, and summons a robot called Zanzaburo to help her out as she introduces herself as Izumo no Okuni and tells you to prepare for a once in a lifetime kabuki dance.

While you're combined forces can't seem to fully defeat him, Izou arrives and scolds him for making too much noise and drawing too much attention. He's forced to retreat, but says the Kinno-party/faction won't be broken so easily. Izou says he'll spare you any hurtful words, but tells you to return to Chaldea, then follows the burly man.

You thank Izumo and she leaves after some dance-allegories, leaving Oryou to help treat Mori, who was on the verge of death. Sakamoto also ponders on what Izou could be up to here, before finally saying that he has someone he needs you to meet: the president of Takasugi Heavy Industries that rule the city of SAITAMA, Takasugi Shinsaku.

Takasugi is written very well so far (+ he's hot). Honestly we're barely in but he's one of my favorite gudaguda characters ever so far. Need more of him

(I'll put up the full TL later.)
    F for Yasuke.

...Though interesting they give Ranmaru the escape with remains role that is often attributed to him rather than the 'hold the line' one that Ranmaru's famous for.

Enjoying the plot and some of the surprises, just an interesting blinkblink.

    Story Summary - Part 3

    Part 3 - Kiheitai

You travel to Takasugi Tower in the middle of the city, and are greeted by Takasugi Shinsaku. He refers to himself as an evil mastermind, and was so excited to see the "interesting Magus" Ryoma had talked about that he couldn't help but meet you at the door. You enter his office and ask about him being an evil mastermind. He explains that it's more a matter of perspective, since to the people who benefitted from the Showa Restoration, he'd be a hero, but to the people who suffered from it, he's the incarnation of evil.

The people who lost the most as a result of the Showa Restoration were the "Showa Kinno-party" and their leader, Takechi Zuizan. For reference here, IRL Takechi founded something called the Tosa Kinno-to (party) which is more or less just an imperial loyalist faction. I guess more or less you can just think of it as a "keep japan japanese" movement during a time of foreign influence.

The scene cuts to Takechi and co who are discussing the burly man - Manslayer Shinbei - failing to capture Gudao. Izou and Shinbei fight a bit, and Ryoma reports that you have made contact with Takasugi. Takechi here seems certain that you are searching for "that".

Back at Takasugi HQ, Takasugi pulls a loredump on you. The Kinno-to are the ones behind all the attacks and sabotages on the city, and are even selling their own counterfiet "Kinno manjuu" on the black market to compete with the real "Restoration manjuu" (which are the event mats, actually). He explains that the Kinno-to are trying to alter the Singularity for their own gain, but his role as president here is basically making sure that doesn't happen. Basically, he's trying to correct history, because the Singularity was originally controlled by the Kinno-to, who made a bunch of changes to benefit themselves after the battle at Edo Castle, and so he intercepted them and rewrote the Singularity with the Showa Restoration using a grail.

The battle at Edo Castle had turned "bloody" because a Holy Grail War of sorts took place there, where Takasugi and Takechi were summoned and killed most of the people who should have survived. Ultimately, Takasugi was the one to earn the grail, but for some reason not even that was enough to correct the Singularity. You surmise that there's another thing keeping it going - Nobunaga's head. In other words, right now, the grail and Takasugi Heavy Industries exists as a way to "counteract" the effects of Nobunaga's head, which most likely is in the hands of the Kinno-to.

Anyway, you decide to enter an allegiance with Takasugi, and then he says it's time for you to die. He summons a bunch of his goons, takes a look at Mori's armor, and then uses his NP to give his troops similar armor. His NP is "Kiheitai" which allows him to turn anyone into a "great warrior" through reinforcement, as long as a will exists. He also seems to activate it with the phrase "
    Innovate
    Reform
    ".

You beat his goons, and almost kill him too before he explains that it's just another test of mettle like usual. Finally, he explains that the city is divided into multiple sectors, and they each have their own Magical Furnaces that power them, so if you protect them during your investigations, he'll share some of their resources with you.

Here's hoping he'll be playable in the second banner.
His chances look awful, but yeah he's great

I wouldn't be so sure, he's a servant in-story and even showed off a Noble Phantasm.

Eeeem, today we fight against Lancer Ryoma, but after fighting him I'm not sure if we're really going to get Part 2 gatcha or if it's going to just be a costume...

Why's he a different class then? (this doesn't mean I think we're getting a part 2 gacha btw, but we might or maybe we get him somewhere down the line)

His animations are noticeably different and he's been datamined with unique skills, I highly doubt it's a costume

Also why on earth would they give a costume to a unit they haven't made attainable in over 2 years?

Some of his animations are still the same as the Rider version though, would they really use recycled animations from a welfare on a SSR?

Unless they created a brand new extra attack for an enemy only battle...yes?

Honestly if there was completely no differences I'd just nod my head with a "Yeah, another costume makes sense" because of all the Guda Guda characters to get an SSR, I'd definitely not pick Ryouma.

I know it's kind of reaching out, but... since Okuni has an anti-Pretender append, maybe Lancer Ryoma is actually a Pretender? And that's why his animations look pretty similar to Rider Ryoma, because then he changes kinda like Oberon to Vortigern. That would at least explain why he's in a second banner, in order not to spoil the twist.

People have called every new character since Oberon a pretender so I'll believe it when I see it.

This is why I am confused, because I saw Lancer Ryoma reusing some animations from the Rider version (and Oryou too) and I don't know now if it's a costume or if they decided to be lazy and reuse stuff from the Rider version to create this one.

From the CM we at least know there's going to be a new Oryou form, maybe that one will have more unique animations?

Tbh I would rather have him be a costume if they're going to be lazy with animations, I like Ryoma and I feel he deserves abetter job if he's going to be an alternative version.

Hell, in one of his attack animations he appears with the spear, but after that he switches back to the sword he already uses in his Rider version.

Maybe he'll get a new set of animation as he ascends, considering the trend.

Also, I don't recall Rider Ryouma has a self-Arts Up + Buster Up + Crit Up in his kit. So the Lancer one is likely a separate unit.

After checking it again he has some unique animations that he doesn't have in his Rider version that I never saw in battle because he never attacked with them. I guess I was unfortunate enough to not get the most unique ones.

    - - - Updated - - -

How the hell did I manage to never get the ones in which he shoots a laser? I didn't even finish the battle in two turns to see what he does.
