That really just doesn't seem like a good medium for an adaptation, unless the movie is 3-4 hours. A comfy 13-episode anime would be more like it, and you'd still have to stop and Rinspeak way too often.

A lot of mahoyo consists of narration or monologues to expand on characters or even just portray entire scenes. Very little of it is Rin-style loredumping or action scenes and even a minority is probably actual dialogue between multiple characters.
At least DDD got what 1.5? 2? volumes. The bit about the dude spinning heads around was great.

Yeah, I can see that already: "its sooo boooring", "how much do i have to skip till the flashy part", "wheres my seibahface", and so on. You can call it elitism, but Mahoyo is for hardcore TM fans. It works only as a VN. Whatever adaptation will just downgrade the story and its characters.

Which one? There are two fandoms: one for Fate and the other one for TYPE-MOON.
I don't mind an adaptation as an abridged refresher and, depending on the studio, some good sakuga for the action sequences.
That's primarily what I use the FSN adaptions we've got for, and what I'd use a Tsuki adaption for in case there ever is one.
I am not worried about entertainment value on a movie adaptation, it'd have to be particularly egregious to turn me off from seeing it. The VN ain't going away so for some quality reading time I can always fall back on it (my concerns not withstanding).
