I will bet on not long after Kimetsu S2 ends.

apparently Mahoyo VN is out of stock on Amazon.

is this the indication of new release?

    Mahoyo Movie

Well, I didn't expect to see this today.
I think it goes: "I don't trust people like me." — no, that's not it…

If it comes next year on April 12th 2022 I would lose it.

Your not a TYPE MOON fan if you don't even own a TM Merch or haven't fapped to a TM character.

Good news. I hope it's a success and like others have said , it will surely bring more attention to the VN and increase the possibilty of sequels

Even if it comes on April 12th 2022 we won't be able to watch it untill BD release.

Nope. Who's gonna make them? TYPE-MOON is busy with another sequel.

So I have one of two theories about this
Either a) it's going to be 2 movies, the first ending at Flat Snark and the second ending at Touko
or 2) it will be one movie with Flat Snark cut out

Because I think having two dramatic cinematic battles would be awkward for the pacing of a single movie.

Maybe, but think about what Spring Song did. That was like all sakuga.

I would argue putting the entire VN in general into a single movie would be awkward for pacing. We're either getting one horribly paced movie, one movie with most content cut, or very unlikely multiple movies.

mahoyo regular version is being sold for over 25k yen, to think two or three weeks ago it was just like 6.5k

Two movies should be the way to go but considering how much dialoge heavy is the VN and depending on what they want to make of the focus of the movie regarding marketing, it could be a movie.

Actually how much content is there before Flat Snark again? Aoko introduction, Soujuurou introduction. Alice introduction, Aoko and Alice fighting puppets, SOL shenanigans, and Flat Snark that optimally should be 50 mins at least. How that makes of a movie?

Oh, btw, give for lost part of the magi worldbuilding as is not possible to transfer it properly to movie medium.

The easiest solution is just move some post-Flat Snark fluff scenes to before Flat Snark.

One is worst case scenario. Three is best case scenario (excluding the Kara no Kyoukai multiple film format, which they simply won't do.) if they want to adapt some of the slower slice of life scenes and flesh out the characters more (which I doubt they will).

I think two movies is a good compromise. Although I fear the second movie is just going to be fight scenes galore. I'd really prefer three movies and a slower pace overall. Even if they take a fight scene or two that should take place in the third film and shove it into the second one in order to appease the ufotable nerds that only care about the fights.

    In my mind:
Movie 1 = Chapters 1 through 5-II (including the Alice fight in extra chapter 1.5.)
Movie 2 = Chapters 6-9 (forcibly insert the fight in chapter 10 in order to create a satisfying cliffhanger ending to build up hype for the final film. Adaptating other extra chapter stuff can also help with hitting the run time.)
Movie 3 = Chapters 10-13 (with the amount of stuff that goes on in those chapters, it can easily make up its own film, hopefully without too much of the infodumps being glazed over.)
