To become any sort of tester for something you enjoy, is to either have endless patience, or a desire to no longer enjoy such thing.
don't quote me on this
Not sure. It feels like I've already ingested most of TM content that would interest me.
Forums as a medium have this cozy vibe to them, and it's unclear where I'd find one which suits me more (if it exists). So I'm 'stuck' popping in every now and then.
I first came into contact with the nasuverse via the fate deen adaptation (when it was the only adaptation existing), fell in love with it, and wanted more. So i decided to investigate more, and that brought me to the VN, read the fate route (Becuse I really liked Saibah), and dropped off for sometime. When FGO NA was announced, my interest in Fate rekindled and so I read UBW, dropped again because university and stuff. By that time I had started to dig more into the lore, I found about tsukihime, KnK and more so i became more facinated with how magecraft worked, the true magics and all that stuff, and through my searches i found that lots of information about the lore and stuff were in scattered materials and stories, some of which the community had translated and that the best place to find those translations and see the discussions was Beast's Lair.
That's how I got here, but reason I come back is because the community here is really intresting, most of you know your lore pretty well, and the discussions are really interesting. I don't quite engage much on internet in general, so I feel more like a glorified lurker than a member per se of the community, but this forum feels to me like it is one of the first strongholds of the western Type moon fandom, old with i'ts peculiar character.
I came here because, and I shit you not, hoped someone might write a fanfic for me because I misunderstood the purpose behind the Fanfic Ideas thread. I was quickly disabused of my belief that people were looking for ideas to write about and decided to work on it myself. This ultimately let to SeiKeo doing the nicest thing he's done for anyone here in years by ripping the garbage that I initially produced to pieces. Considering his personality, the fact that he's disliked me ever since we met, and that he seems to find my naïvety and cluelessness personally offensive, I'm pretty sure his goal was as much to scare me off as it was to tell me what was so wrong with my original story draft, but I was so clueless about TM lore at the time that what might have been sparse information was still immensely valuable to me.
I ended up spending over a year creating a prologue to the HGW fic I wanted to write. That prologue became Letters From Tohsaka, its own standalone story that SeiKeo and Imperial inspired which is definitely better than the HGW fic I initially wanted to write. There were good concepts I had, but I added too much to the queue and it grew too big for me to manage.
I have a lot of people to thank for helping me create Letters From Tohsaka, but if memory serves, chiefest among them are TwilightsCall, Leo, Imperial, and SpoonyViking.
Imperial was the one to finally convince me that I needed to read the VN if I wanted to write Fate/ fanfiction. I read UBW, then HF, (by printing the LP Archive's script like some kind of maniac) and by the time I finished HF, I realized I had completely forgotten a lot of what I had read in UBW. And I haven't reread despite it being my favourite route… I just have so many things I want to do… VTubers taking over the internet hasn't helped.
What keeps me coming back, besides the community in the RP section — since the fanfic section is mostly inactive beyond Create-a-Servant-et-al — is probably that it reminds me of ZeldaUniverse when I was originally a member there back in 2008, but also, It's a lot easier to make friends on a forum like this than on more mainstream places like Reddit where you can join a bunch of different forums, but you're just a light grey name written in superscript above your post. It's hard to see the people behind the posts on credit, while here we have our avatars.

To prove I am the superior Nasuverse fan from those peasants from those plebs sites that talk about TM content. I'm a different breed now after joining this site and none can deny my sovereignty
Current FGO setup
I can't bear how people act on reddit and western twitter and on 4chan shitposting gets out of hand too often and also has schizos.
This place is a good middle ground.
Really is hard to discuss anything type moon related without god awful uninformed takes, and tired jokes and misinformation so you really do need to choose where you hang out carefully. But I guess it applies to any space.
I originally came here to check out the progress on the then-unfinished F/HA translation patch. As it turns out, this place is quite cozy and the community, welcoming. I've always been a fan of the forum format, but the good ones seem to become more scarce by the day.
I don't come back way too often since I have no interest in gacha and so much of TM's output is GO-related these days, but hopefully Tsuki R and the Mahoyo localization mean the tides they are a-changin'.

With the soon-ish release of LB7 which, in theory, will be set on my country, I got angry again that it will be only made of Mexicans and Aliens.
It led to me feeling kinda nostalgic over the forum and decided to check whats going on
I'd been vaguely aware of Beast's Lair for many years as a place for T-M discussion, but the catalyst to me joining was embarassingly, Fate/GO. More specifically, wanting to keep up with newly released Servant loreto crush arguments in /a/without having to actually play the darn thing.
Too bad that last thing didn't work out.
shit BL says
Once and always and nevermore.
I like to drop in from time to time because it's like a time capsule into an era of the Internet we've lost. I love forums and discussion and there's something about it that discord and definitely twitter or reddit cannot replicate. That and I love nerding out with other hard-core fans.
