Playing Clear Wings - and Speedroids in general was pretty fun during the festival thanks to the Loaner Decks being decent this time. But after seeing how broken the new Baronne de Fleur is, and being also in the midst of a 5Ds rewatch, I decided to start building a Fleur deck. Playing a virtual world deck without going into VFD was pretty interesting.
Trying to figure what deck to build next with the rewards, Thunder Dragons (and then may as well make dragon link) or Skull Servant (and eventually a Grass is Greener version)
Though abandoned, forgotten, and scorned as out-of-date dolls, they continue to carry out their mission, unchanged from the time they were designed.
Machines do not lose their worth when a newer model appears.
Their worth (life) ends when humans can no longer bear that purity.
Pai and I have been playing some janky piss-weak decks that are enigmatically well matched in their powerlevel to the point that we can do some hilarious back and forths. Dogmatika+Charmers and Charmers+Magistus vs DespiaAlbaz and Dark Lords. This is the good Master Duel.
VW is fun to play, I almost feel sorry when I have to put all my shiny level 9 synchros into VFD. Then I see what my opponent was trying to run if VFD wasn't negating it and I'm back to being thankful he exists.
On the subject of janky decks, I decided my next project (while pulling for UR dust to finally finish crafting my handtraps so I stand a snowball's chance in Plat) is gonna be Phantom Knights but without Rhongobongo lock or the Burning Abyss engine. So far, it's good enough for the bots (though I do need their boss monsters I didn't get yet).

Despia Albaz is pretty legit actually, especially if you splash Invoked or Shaddols in.

I still haven't encountered anyone using it, but I've only played like 4 games since it dropped and two of those were structure decks (Cydras and Galaxy-Eyes).

Floowandereeze are fun, if really linear, Adventure engine goes with everything, VW lost VFD and is now more fun to play (but loses hard to halq/don bullshit), Swordsoul reminded everyone that Tenyi exist, and we stand on the cusp of a Despia/Branded renaissance (and apparently Marincess is about to stop sucking). What are your new projects?

I personally stopped playing a while ago. Made some new decks like Stardust/Le Fleur, but I wasn't really feeling it anymore. Might come back in the future, but I'm currently doing stuff from my backlog so...
I went back to Legends of Runeterra after getting bored trying to get enough resources for a second deck.
Sure, I still play a couple of times a week.
I'm a boring person though so I just build cool decks from the anime - Dinowrestlers, Red Dragon Archfiend, Raidraptors and Volcanics just to name a few.

I can't understand the Floow hate, I really can't. They have exactly one gameplan and it's very easy for most decks to play around it.

The starting gems ahould be more than enough for a couple of decks before they start getting scarce, unless your first deck was something like "every single HEROES archetype". I've got 6-7 by now and that's while barely playing ranked.
Lightsworn (mostly dismantled), Gravekeepers (didn't get very far+ dismantled), Gladiator Beasts, (Infer)Noble Knights, Tri-Brigade Lyrilusc, Virtual World, Invoked Dogmatika Shaddol ft Albaz, no Rhongo Phantom Knights, Swordsoul Tenyi with no halqifibrax bullshit, Floowandereeze (still technically need Dimension Shifter and possibly Dimension Fissure and Macrocosm to be "meta"), Darklords/Despia Branded with a dash of Darklords, and I'm currently working on an Evil☆Twins deck.
And just by pulling I technically have all the cards for Suships and Magikey decks, but they aren't really my style.

It wasn't an evaluation of the game's economy, I simply played very little of it.
You aren't wrong, but you also forget that the 'No Special Deck' Festival was a thing to promote it, and the very little I played against it was more than enough to solidify my opinion on it.
Don't get me wrong, though, I'm not judging.
After all, I play Altergeist because I too hate humanity.
TBF, I mostly played the Machina loaner in that event and I had a fucking blast with it.
Since I got a bunch of Altergeist cards (and like 4 Multifakers, goddamnit) pulling for Evil Twins, how does that deck play?

It's basically Disruption the Deck. All of the monsters do things like returning cards to the hand and negating attacks/effects (usually by sending themselves to the GY), while the traps negate backrow and summon the monsters back from the GY. Once you draw Multifaker, it's game over for the opponent. Even without it, though, the stalling potential is insane. I have had several matches where I drew a brick hand and still managed to squeeze out a victory some 15+ turns later just because I had one or two cards that completely undermined everything the opponent tried to do. And keep in mind that I don't even run Mystic Mine in the deck, which usually puts the Archetype into Cancer tier, no problem. Big weakness of the deck are the monsters getting banished.
So yeah, TL;DR if you love fucking around with your opponent it is absolutely the deck for you.
I will say, one thing that does hamper my enjoyment is just how slow new cards are added to the game. One of the reasons I picked up MD was that at launch it had like 95% of the cards unlike say DL but as the months go by we still have cards from 2021 not in MD still.
I just really want to build a Hellfire deck, it was one of my favourite archetypes from 5Ds and they just won’t let me.
