Her story doesn't make sense if she's a virgin, though, because she wouldn't have been executed (in the way she was, at least...).
I don't think that's how the legend went, though. The English didn't rape her, some of the other prisoners did, and then she dressed as a man to try to prevent that, leading to her execution.
