It's true, we really can't deal with Archer paired with any character we like.

I can deal with it, but I feel a certain amount of trepidation, elf considers saber a side charachter, so I wonder if thats what saber would end up being, or heavily flanderized in attempt to "develop" her into a main charachter.
(dont be hating elf, didnt say I was sure it would happen, just concerned by the possibiliy)
Yeeeah, Elf has said she preferred Saber before she dropped the "emotionless king" facade, so I'm not so sure how something like that would work out.

Well, she seemed to do a decent enough job with Sakura, at least, and she characterised Saber well enough in Steel and Cherry Blossoms too, IIRC (in the few parts in which she is involved). I wouldn't be too worried about it if I were you, because Elf seems to be pretty good at understanding the characters in general. Not liking Saber isn't the same as not being able to characterise her (hell, you don't like Sakura, and yet you characterised her perfectly OK in your letters).
thank you, but let me ask you, hypothetically, if before you had actualy read the letters, if you had heard I was working on a fic in which sakura eventually suicides, wouldnt you have been just a teensy bit worried that I might not have been overly concerned with getting her right? up to now, elf always has used saber as a side char you see, hence the question.

And, honestly, I could have made the same statement about Sakura prior to Steel and Cherry Blossoms as you're making about Saber here, but yet I was always in favour of it.
wel, elf has a lot of support for sakura right? she usually defaults shirou to sakura for the purposes of freeing up rin for archer, would there be any reason to worry?
Well, I think Elf prefers Sakura to Saber, yes, but I'm not sure if I'd say she has a "lot of support" for her.
