Also, keep in mind that Greninja's original moves as a Dark and Water type Pokemon perfectly cover all of the Poison type's weaknesses.

The issue is that the 4 potential options don't really have much in the way of "blow the enemy up". Vaporeon can maybe do it with Acid Armor + Calm Mind + Stored Power, though it's still taking neutral from poison and dark moves (though if you can fire off some Acid Armors, you're probably fine). Clodsire, Quagsire, and Gastrodon can tank but otherwise not really do anything to it (stupid timer).
Though that potential 4th slot could wreck everything. Probably won't since Charizard and Cinderace didn't, but it could.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet...oooof. I got to say that this game needs a lot of improvements in... everything. In terms of my progress, I already beat the third gym and I did all the midterms at the academy. So I'm working on the next Titan Pokemon, and hopefully won't botch the aftermath.

though I'm actually only missing Armorouge and Paradox Salamence as far as exclusives go, I just haven't caught a half dozen Pokemon out there lol

I'm guessing Lucario and Klefki might be real good. I expect Gunk Shot, Water Shuriken, Dark Pulse at minimum but he's got a lot of stuff. Maybe Toxicroak with support will be a sleeper pick(muh frog...) and then it turns out Greninja carries extrasensory lol. I can't wait for gunk shot to one shot the online Grimmsnarls.
Why would anyone bring a Grimmsnarl (or any fairy) vs a Tera Poison type lol

Because 10 year olds play this game. At least a third of the pokemon community is also challenged. I had a Poison type Baxcalibur 6 star Tera I randomly joined the other day and 2 of the guys decided Garchomp was the play. Speedrunning that loss.

I just used Slowbro(again). Night Slash starter does like 40% but the trade off is an Iron defense for +2 Def. Turn 3 he cleanses your buffs so I'd just iron defense twice then stored power for some chip(with Shell Bell Healing). After cleanse just IDx3 with a heal cheer as necessary(or run slack off I guess). 3 Nasty Plots then 3-4 Stored powers will kill it. He really only used Night Slash and Hydro Pump. The poison from gunk Shot might suck so I could see covert cloak and Slack off if you want to be super safe. Unless he gets a Night Slash crit at a bad time or you get the worst RNG imaginable because of Double Team spam... it should be Free.
So the double team rng is a bit annoying so I thought, Bronzong might be good? Turns out it is. Calm Mind, Iron Defense, Store Power, Gravity with Shell Bell. No issues. I like it better than Slowbro but they're similar. You take less damage from Hydro Pump so setup is a bit easier on Slowbro but no double team cheese is nice.
I think I'm going to skip over this one, none of the Pokemon I have are good against it and I don't like any of the ones I could potentially raise specifically for this fight.

Could just go support with Umbreon or something. Snarls go a long way to helping a slowbro or bronzong.
I caught Greninja. It was like pulling teeth, but I caught it.
