Done with 1st gym and 1st Titan Pokémon.
Impressions so far...
I like the blend between PLA and classic mechanics, this is a fine middle ground. School system can be fun, reminds me of P3 specifically for some reason. Still seing how they'll connect the 3 main throughlines of the game for the story, but I like the idea in concept. And being given complete freedom from the get-go is refreshing. Also I'm half spanish so the region interests me greatly. And finally the Team Star battle theme is a certified banger.
Don't particularly care for the HM replacement gimmick but I do think it's the best one so far, at least it's integrated into the very narrative of the game.
As for negatives... ppl complained DP took too long. Bruh, I'll take a slowly draining HP bar over the extra second this game takes to load every. single. battle. textbox.
It also has sime weird lag spikes just in general. PLA wasn't the industry standard but it still managed to look more pleasing and stutter less.
Terastalization or whatever it is, is dumb, just like Dynamaxing was, and just like Z-moves were. I won't miss it when it gets inevitably dropped for Gen 10.
