I remember a leak about convergent evolution, that process where completely unrelated species evolve into basically the same shape. If I remember right the leak said the new Diglett was one of those.

So technically speaking it's not a regional variant, since those are divergent evolution, the same species adapting to different environments. Diglett and Wiglett have different ancestors and both of them adapted to look pretty much the same.

Anyway, modernized Diglett is cool but I hope they have an evolution.

I like Firagiraf. Love how original the concept is, Girafarig has gotten so many fan evos yet I've never seen anything like this.

Challenging the Teams seems super boring. Just click a button and watch them auto-battle until you get to the boss? Ok...

Seeing as the battle system is so simplistic as to be a joke that Let's Go autobattle is the best new feature Pokemon has added to a mainline game since... gen 4.

I wonder if auto-battling has any restrictions. Do you need a level or badge threshold? If it's just a measure that lets you swat away Pidgeys then that's fine, but throwing out even more gameplay than before leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Base storming being a reflex-based time attack is lame too. Where's the adventure of exploring? It'd be funny if someone auto-killed a shiny though.

Terastalizing looks pretty wild since every Pokemon can change their type on the fly now. Craftable TMs are nice.

I don't think they know how to do fun exploration anymore.

I'm pretty sure all the Gamefreak map designers died spontaneously after the release of B2W2 and they just decided to not hire anyone else. It's the only explanation.

Yeah, not a fan. That looked like garbage. They should just stick to the tried and true but make shit actually challenging. Limit healing items and give enemy trainers competitive teams with held items and make it so you can't easily overlevel.

I really liked the changes to the battle system in Legends, I'm upset none of it was brought over.

The catching mechanics too.

The battle mechanics kinda sucked though.
I won't miss the catching style because it's a different type of game, but I REALLY wish we could still throw a pokeball to start a fight, and that the battle transition was still just as seamless.

Actually, I think with TMs going back to one use we might actually be netting negative improvements already.
