"non-linear storytelling" is code for "you people are never satisfied so we just didn't bother writing a story this time, here's an open world and some scattered quests, go have fun or whatever".

I mean, it's an innovation as far as JRPG's are concerned but Pokemon going the Elder Scrolls route is probably a sign of the impending apocalypse or something.

Man I really hope the story is something of substance unlike SwSh's nothing. I don't necessarily expect something as good as BW's or SM's (not USUM's) but give me some flavor here.
