That being said, that Pokemon in the Scarlet Book on the official website is so much more cooler than the one in the Violet Book. It almost makes me want to change my mind about getting Violet.

Well I just went looking, and the only starter evolution I could find leaked is the 2nd stage Fire. Bad quality shot too, so don't risk it yet.

i didnt really look into the game so far, but when the topic of this game is future and past, I heard that there are paradox pokemon that show future or past evolutions. But thats something i heard months ago, tho

I've avoided spoilers myself. Only a little bit to go and Sonic is keeping me busy. I'm totally going with the fire starter regardless. Either he looks super goofy by the end or super badass and menacing. Win-win.

So from what Iv'e gathered, there are version exclusives that are also available in the other version but with a reimagined theme. For example Tyanitar is Scarlet exclusive, but (presumably in late game content) will show up in Violet, but looking futuristic. On the flip side Salamance is Violet exclusive but will have a prehistoric version show up in Scarlet. Donphan however exists in both games and has both a future and caveman variant depending on which title you pick up.

It's also aside from the normal region variations as well.

Also I've seen the evos and Grass is fine? It's really not that bad.
The duck could be better.

It makes you really consider wheter you'd rather have whatever version as a normal team member, or if you'd rather go looking for the crazy new one though whatever (probably a raid) event are going to give you them.

Then again we have internet trading nowadays so grabbing exclusives is easier than ever.

But yeah, prehistoric vs future theme on species is cool. That's why I went Scarlet. The prehistoric angle looks more badass to me like the professor. I feel like future and sci-fi shit is pretty much more common in Pokemon so it feels a bit more fresh.

Still going to get Violet I think, if only because I hate how Koraidon looks as a vehicle and that'll probably what more time is spent looking at than anything else.

I'll also likely bench the starter at some point, since I don't really like any of them. Not going water since I'll need/want to raise an Azumarill to fight the Dragon-terra Charizard raid. That leaves fire and grass, so I'll probably just flip a coin when I get the game to decide. Though, if these alleged datamined stats are real, I'll likely choose grass because I like my starter to be fast and the fire one is just slow and bulky.

I doubt anyone will be swayed if they've already made up their mind on whether to get the games or not, but Nintendo put out one last trailer to hook people in.

Tbh I'm still kinda undecided.
I really miss playing competitive and Arceus did bring me back after I decided giving up on the franchise after Sword and Shield, but the game is pretty expensive and a lot of other good stuff released recently.

I know myself though so I know that I'll probably get it anyway unless some seriously massive problems become evident after the review embargo is up.

From what I've played, the game so far seems like Sonic Frontiers. It's a step in the right direction conceptually but the actual execution is severely lacking.
They should have spent another year on polishing it up.
