Kongming episode 2 is putting off big Carole and Tuesday vibes. I had a wide smile on my face this whole episode. That OP was madness, too.
By the way, apparently there's a Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans re-release this season that's supposed to condense the 50 episodes down to 9. Has anyone seen this? It sounds like one of the biggest speedruns I've ever heard of if it actually exists.

I'd heard that, but never had the impetus to hunt down the original. Thanks.
I think I prefer the psychedelic anime version more, with it's oddly entrancing dancing segments than the originals recreation of the opening scene of every Fast and Furious movie. The rap break was pretty nice there though.

Hayasaka's karaoke song really sounded like a Gundam OP to me. Did anyone else get that feeling?
I was kind of surprised at how surprised everyone was at the train hijacking in Isecutioner. Those guys weren't even trying to hide their guns. Hell one was almost licking it like you see delinquents do with knives! Then I remembered what happened IRL this week, and my suspension of disbelief was firmly restored.
Date a Live is constantly banging up against the old sunk cost fallacy. The first episode was alright, but this second one was a slog to get through. It wasn't even the whole episode either, the first half with the failed attempts were entertaining. But once the full waifu squad came in, I lost a lot of interest, partly because it was so bland a situation, and partly because it's been so long and the group so large I don't remember a full half of them.
Healer Girls: I don't know much about the vocal side of music, but key changes aren't a hard thing to do. It's annoying having to know what what's suddenly automatically flat/sharp, but if you just treat it all as C where the composer went wild, it's so much easier. I've rewritten entire scores like that because Fuck E Major. Four fucking sharps. Get real.

I was thinking an OP, due to how upbeat it was, but those SEED vibes were definitely there.

Isecutioner: Momo's suffering continues. I'm rooting for you, Momo! This is a refreshingly LN show, and better put together than Dead Detective so far.
Kaguya: It's funny watching this with manga knowledge of Osaragi. Fujiwara fleeing was the funniest part.
Spy x Family: Cute, good. The grenade proposal's what sold the manga to me.
Shikimori: She's cute when she's jealous too. I'm curious what Kamiya's deal is.
I wasn't really on board for Summertime Render for 95% of that first episode. But HOLY SHIT that last minute. So many questions!
I think I'm almost done with Shikimori. I'll give it one more episode, but it doesn't have the humour to keep my interest, and the romance feels weak since its already established offscreen beforehand.
I'm all the way done with Not-Overlord though. It just didn't do anything for me. Maybe if they added another character sooner (like that Vampire in the OP/ED) they could get some kind of dynamic going, but with the only sounding board MC has is a nonspeaking kitsune, it just feels like it's power fantasying out into the ether.
So Onipan is just a bunch of shorts stitched into a half length episode? Saiki Kusuo style? I'll give it one more episode but the only laugh it got from me was "The transformation magic does nothing?! We might as well just be cosplaying!"
Soccer Anime has me on board. I'd say it's the best sports show I've watched in a bit, but this season also has Ballet show which is just superbly put together, and Golf show which by epsiode 2 has Mission Impossible masks, corrupt cops extorting the slum orphanages, back alley golf on the train tracks, super moves, the golf mafia, money matches where it turns out the wager is actually Gunpla and its treated as more important that the possible sexual favours that were implied previously, underpass putting hustling for 1000 euros a pop, and a character who looks like they were lifted right from Helltaker. It's cockoo for coco puffs, and I love every minute of it.

my favourite anime genre is "my gf is really cute"
tonikaku kawaii, dress up darling, etc really are just ">tfw ywn" the anime
My big problem with Shikimori is that after 2 episodes I have no idea what their characters are. The guy is clumsy and the girl is protective, but nothing more really. I don't know that MC hyper devotes himself to specific goals or that he's a closet fan of obscure Japanese arts, or that GF is a rich girl who can tank a transport truck or an unexpected otaku.

you know in all three the mc is a cute shy boy (literally me). maybe this means I have a chance...
Ultraman S2 done. A shame it's so short as it's only 6 episodes (half as long as S1). That said, decent plot and cool fights. It also ends with the villain saying his death was what starts his real plan, and Bemlar (OG Ultraman) knows something. A clear sequel hook, so I guess S3 could come eventually. Looking foward to that

Been enjoying The Executioner And Her Way Of Life so far. Fun spin on the isekai premise with some intriguing darker elements and of course, that sweet yuri potential. Menou and Akari's scene with the terrorists in episode three was close to this comic:
I also like how they made the token "princess-knight in a skimpy outfit" actually have her eccentric fashion-sense as a personality trait. I won't say it "excuses" the trope or anything, but it was a fun take. I will say though the show's strings are showing a bit when it comes to the action-direction in this episode. While not badly animated they're slow in a way that makes it hard to get hyped.
Which one is that? The skeleton one? Or the femdom one?
