So I hoped on to Strive to try out ABA. She's a fucking weirdo, but I kinda like that. Along the way though I also tried out the other DLCs I'd missed since Testament and why did no one tell me that Elph has all the Ram unga bunga bullshit from Xrd? She's made of pressure and rushdown squirrel-on-cocaine energy and I'm fucking there for it. Asuka feels like the most Arcsys OC chaarcter they've ever made, but unlike Android 21 and Labyrs he doesn't click with me.

So I'm really new to fighting games been playing granblue fantasy versus rising for the last 5 month's and I'm constantly unable to stay on one chara to play, I try someone out play them for 2-3 days then drop them, I have only stayed once with a chara long (around 2 months).
So does it ever get better or is it a me problem ?

In all seriousness, if you're going through the entire roster and can't settle on a character, maybe you just don't like the game. That could be easily explained by the fact the GB:VSR isn't very good. So, play a better game is my guess.

Really depends on how seriously you play the game, whether you're aspiring to be decent at it or just playing it with friends, and indeed whether you actually enjoy playing it (even if you're losing). Whether you're changing characters due to curiousity, frustration, or boredom.
If you want to actually become proficient, you eventually should try to get your hands on the entire cast just to see what you're up against, but it should come after you're confident with one character and just feel like you're missing matchup information. But if you're just pressing buttons with friends or mashing against CPU, then it literally doesn't matter what you play or how.

I'm really surprised they brought her back from 7. She was such a late entry on the DLC roster it felt like she had no real support behind her.

It's called character crisis and it's very common. Your fate is to either become a random select main or just wait for the game to add a character that actually snags your interest enough to stick with them. Tbh I think as far as interesting playable characters goes, GBVS doesn't really have much to scratch that itch and most of its appeal is playing to basics with simpler character design. A decent starting point for sure but I think if after playing it so long there just isn't a character you feel strongly about you're probably not going to find one.

I think if you want to fuck around with fighting games and explore a game with characters distinct and crazy enough to have strong play appeal, and you want to stay in anime fighters, you could try getting BlazBlue Central Fiction whenever it goes on sale. I think it went as low as $5 or something one time. Since this is a TM forum I also have to mention Melty Blood, either Type Lumina or Actress Again Current Code are honestly fine. Type Lumina is newer and shinier, but has some modern game design brainrot but also some solid modern design QoL. However, it's easy to get your hands on AACC without spending a penny and most people who have played both extensively have greater fondness for AACC. And since I'm Spinach I'll mention that Under Night In Birth Sys:Celes is the second most popping anime fighter around right now and is all around a solid package.

All of those games are a bit harder to get into than Granblue but if you want to screw around in the anime fighter subgenre they're the places to start imo

If you're going for the newer FransuPan stuff, you're better off going with UNI2, as Spinach said above.

If it's of any interest to you, Type Lumina is MUCH less complex than AACC (as a starting point, there are no moon styles, but there are many more things that all add up to make AACC a very complex game) and is well suited for beginners. UNI is a moderately complex game. It has some characters intentionally designed to ease newer players into it, but I'm a strong believer in picking who you think is cool, not who you think you can learn. Anyone can learn to play any character if they have the motivation, and nothing is more motivating than thinking the character is cool and wanting to play them for that.

Also yeah lol, the bulk of Melty's story is in the very first game, Melty Blood, and everything after that is peppered into every version that came after.

And have fun trying out SF6. I actually think it is really fun for being a more basic type of game (I prefer coked up anime shit) and the only reason I don't play it is because the gap between intermediate and high level players feels like looking up at Mt Everest lol

Just picked up UNI2 a few days ago. Previously I got mad at uni a few times over how there's never any space on the screen to do anything, but it feels like sweet release after Lumina. I'll take an oppressive game over a stupid game any day of the week.
- On the bad side, some of the combo routes still feel like Kamone deliberately made them as obnoxious as possible, in particular there's a lot of 2C into 4C/6C kind of stuff. I thought they already had this figured out back in AACC, with how F-Ciel's 214C is downkeys, so you just end the combo in a knockdown, and don't waste any meter on the misinput. But I guess it's nothing new, it just encourages you not to go for the tryhard combos early on. But why did he have to make make hien 22x stop catering to leverless ugh
- More grid specials is pretty cool especially since it encourages you to look at grid more often.
- Really like what they did with Chaos, he always felt like an incomplete character before. Crazy to think he only had 4 different puppet moves on release.

Good game! Though I started on Reload, I don't know if I'd recommend it to a current year gamer. It's like coming to the apothecary with a prescription for medical marihuana, and getting an aphrodisiac instead. +R will drive your blood pressure up so high you might get a sheer heart attack.

I will say, as much as I love Lidia - compared to how flashy Eddy is, it feels like she should have been in the base roster as outside of her own fans, I've noticed a lot of people who aren't as familiar with her have the similar comment of how basic she looks for a DLC character.

She also looks way flashier in 8 than 7, replacing her plain grey gi with something with a some pop to it.

I think Spin's right on recommending BB. It's got really basic controls for every character but everyone has such a wildly different playstyle, outside of some of the OG cast (Or the Nu's). The cast is pretty huge too, since it goes the VF route and just adds new characters without dropping old ones.

I honestly don't like Blazblue. I never got especially deep into it, and I think I won't either (not that I've ever got deep into any fighting games for realsies, I just pretend I do)
The Drive and Overdrive mechanics are awesome though, totally stealing those.
