Might be because of what was stated in the prologue, that summoning AoG-era Servants is difficult and you usually only get wraiths? It's a plot point in the Völsunga saga that Sinfjötli's Völsung (i.e., Odinic) blood is the strongest because of his origins.

    Yeah man there you go

Her hair really is long, she has braids around her neck and they still fall to like the mid part of her back

Also the pixiv dictionary says that Lemina was younger than Roche and everyone (including Darnic) kept her away from the war and fights, what that means who knows, but Darnic showing something that isn't being an ass is cool

Wow, knowing this i'm surprised they gave him the same B rank divinty that Sigurd has instead of giving him an A, at least a + would be nice

Or alternately, she could only chose Percy because Nasu is the one holding onto the other unrelease knights.

weird because in the end it was higashi who created him and wrote his profile

The two theories I've seen for Assassin (assuming she isn't someone completely new) are either FSF's hair Zabaniya, or Intoxicating Smoke from Camelot. Intoxicating Smoke is confirmed to be a woman and parts of Camelot were probably done by Sakurai given all the Prototype characters there.

Not that weird, the interview have both Sakurai and Higashide commenting on Fragments. Apparently it was the three of them (Higashide, Sakurai and Nasu) who sat down to determine the servants for Fragments (For example it was Higashide who recommended Bryn), and by the end of that meeting Sakurai had to actually write the servants, so most likely Tristan just got handed to Higashide on that meeting or later on for FGO.

Nasu confirmed that he consulted Sakurai on how to write the Pharaohs and other Fragments servants dialogues and have her go over them after he wrote them (It was on a post on his blog I think)

Also, if this fusetter tweet is anything reliable to go by, it seems Assassin may have been designed by consulting Nasu and Narita: https://fusetter.com/tw/zWytF7NB#all

    Hi guys,

Status Update. My copy of Lost Einherjar is being delivered in the next week. So I'll begin the translation when it gets here which is probably Monday.

Very excited to read it! (Though I am very slow with LNs because huge blocks of text give me headaches)
Thank you very much for your effort and kindness in translating it for us.

Thank you so much, Phoenix! I have zero knowledge of Japanese, but if you need help with any Norse-related reference that may pop up, I'd be happy to help!

  12. #492
All my thanks to you, Phoenix. So excited to read your translations, as a native Norwegian I can help out with any words, names, places and whatnot if it's needed.

Man, there's so much i want to talk about, and that's just from what little I've been able to find so far.

Apparently Aslaug really likes waffles, spending her free time during the HGW eating a ton of waffles. Which, hey, I can agree with. Waffles sure are popular here in Norway, especially during our Constitution Day.

Is the thing Aslaug and Ragnar ride on possibly the harp she slept inside, transformed into some other form? The silver color and the strings have me curious.
    Spoiler

I've seen one Japanese twitter suggest this scene is set inside Engebret Cafe, based on the backgroiund details matching up with the real-life cafe. Man, Miwa really has an eye for detail.
    Spoiler

But what has me the most curious about the story is this:
    Spoiler

Just who is this mystery woman who appears on both the cover, which features characters from the past. And the lineup of participants in the Doubles Holy Grail War (behind Saber's master), which is set in the present. Could she be the potentially eighth servant of the war?
    Spoiler
And more importantly, her identity. From what I can gather, it's possible Sinfjötli isn't the only relative of Aslaug involved in events. And this mystery woman is quite possibly Svanhildr! She has the same eyes as Sigurd and Aslaug, and you can see her wearing a horseshoe on her collar, possibly referencing her death by being trampled by horses. If so, there's potential for some serious sibling drama .

I will have some respect for Sakurai if she genuinely can hold herself back from making Dantes appear in this for no good reason.

A single finger curls on the monkey's paw: Nero shows up instead.

I found this comparison a couple days ago. It's the same seat exactly. Makes me wonder if Miwa and/or Sakurai had a trip to Oslo.

If she really is her then i congratulate them, this is really interesting and seems to have an in Depth research behind it, this actually inspired me to look up make the family tres of both the Volsunga Saga and the Nibelungenlied and after that i really appreciate that everything i read is being implemented because there really is a lot and it's very interesting, glad to see a break from english and japanese lore for once.

Hopefully latinamerica gets a second chance as well, so far the lostbelt is like a 7/10 for me at best

That family tree is a mess and not just because of the incest.

If I had a nickel for every time one of Sigmund's kids got killed by his brother-in-law due to a complicated revenge scheme involving a Valkyrie, I would have two nickels...which isn't a lot of money but it's weird it happened twice.

It gets worse because Sigrun is supposed to be the reincarnation of Svafa, Sigurd's aunt, and it's even worse because Siggeir has a brother named Sigmund, which means he hated a dude with the same name as his brother, must have been awkward

    - - - Updated - - -

Honestly it only gets weird when you get to Sigmund, before that it's pretty normal, if you ignore Volsung's "unique" birth

Now that i think about it, this is probably going to get memed on but i don't care, is Saber a man or a woman i genuenly can't tell
