The Summer season is less than a week away, so what's everyone anticipating?
Continuations:
Devil is A Part Timer 2: Been waiting forever for this, but I don't know how I'll react now that I know the (controversial) ending.
Overlord 4: I really didn't like 3, but I'll give this a chance to disappoint me before I drop it
Made in Abyss 2: I should really watch that movie, shouldn't I?
Danmachi 4: See Overlord
Utawarerumono 3: S2 hooked me something fierce years ago when it aired, enough for me to go back a decade and watch S1. I hope S3 is good as the conclusion. Or at least has a banger ED.
Love Live Superstar 2: Maybe my favourite LL season getting a sequel right after my least favourite? That's some whiplash.
Kakeguri Twin: I don't know how compelling the show will be without Yumeko orgasming everywhere, but I'll give it a shot, the Op and Ed will probably be worth it regardless.
Oddtaxi Movie: Hald the time it sounds like a movie recap, and the other half it's a continuation from the ending. If the former then it might be best to skip to the last 10 minutes, just to see what happens, and miss them condensing the tension down into nothing. If the later, could be movie of the year.
Tonikaku Kawaii OVAs: It's just so cute. And probably will only be 1-3 episodes, so really light.
New Stuff:
Yofukashi no Uta: I heard someone talk this manga up, and it seemed very interesting. Like a Shaft-less Monogatari.
Lucifer and Biscuit Hammer: The manga I never expected to be adapted, is. SO FUCKING HYPED. Just please, don't try and cram it all into 12. Let it breathe. Also rerelease the manga. Vol 1-3 is going for almost $200 on Amazon.
Give It a Shot:
It's Not Really Incest: This seems like a Domestic Girlfriend trainwreck. But It may be an entertaining trainwreck.
RWBY: It looks good, and redo-ing the Poser season is a good idea. But that storyline is also pretty weak (though not nearly as bad as 5).
Isekai Ojisan: I'm a bit of a sucker for shows that take place after the main conflict has finished. It's the only reason I gave Magical Spec Ops Asuka a chance. And while it wasn't good, it was bad in all the right ways.
Bucchigure: Seven Deadly Sins: Shinsegumi edition sounds intriguing.
KJ Files: I'm a sucker for Kaiju, ever since Jurrassic Park and Godzilla '98
All in all, A pretty light season for me. 4 Returning shows, 2 highly anticapetd new ones and 7 on the fence shows. I'll still attempt to give everything at least one episode, but if Danmachi and Overlord bust and nothing catches my fancy it might be one of the sparest season in years. Might be time to break out those 10 survivors from last years Covid induced anime gauntlet.
