Going by the previous iterations, there will be memorial quests and you'll be able to play the Interludes of characters you don't have.
I procrastinated so hard on this event that I didn't finish the story or get the welfare. Maybe playing a gacha game while having a full time job is a bad idea.
I somehow managed the final hour ladder grind, although the reward Douman roll at the end of it failed.

I know this guy is sorta like a reddit tabloid but I wonder how much of the criticisms about Ibuki he brought up there is accurate to the event story (cuz I skipped all of it lol).
I care little about Ibuki but care even less about Shinichameleon sensationalism. That's a bad post to import here, in my humble opinion.
Oh I know. I'm just wondering about the criticism regarding Summer Ibuki that he quoted in the post to prove his point. Things like Ibuki being wanked and push to overshadow other chars, fetish-filled writing, OP gameplay bait, worst piece of writing since Tunguska...etc...etc. I want to know if there are any truth to those criticisms, cuz I really don't want to read the event story. Whether those criticisms construct a huge backlash like he said doesn't matter to me.
Ibuki being wanked is true in my opinion, but I don’t think she overshadowed anyone. If anything, she’s feels like she’s just there all the time despite being the main villain.
I see. Sounds like how she is normally written and how all summer event villains are, minus Xu Fu.
Take into acount, for what I can remember that dude is one of those with a massive Sakurai hate boner, always blaming Sakurai for whatever people dislike even a little and there you have it on that article, what servants he claims are the most "hated" from the event? All Sakurai's
I'll be honest, the event read like the majority of events in this game. 90% of it is just character-specific jokes, until they remember there's supposed to be a story to it, and they tack on something to move the "plot" along. Repeat for as many times as there are timelocks. Anyone saying it's "the worst writing since Tunguska" would just conveniently be ignoring literally almost every other event in the game, and is just cherry-picking arguments for their case.
To me that whole post feels like what you regularly seem to encounter on the NA side, especially among people who don't actually read story but just go off what "they heard", and them hating characters or stories from that, except here it's trying to be played up as some huge deal because Japanese people said it instead? Even funnier is if you look at a lot of the links to supposedly malding players in that post, you'll just see people who are either like "eh not the best event" or "I liked it!" (Also he put a fucking NA "lore youtuber" as one of his links so, you know...)
But yeah, the event story is boring, but it's boring in the same way that most event stories are (as well as most summer events, in my opinion, where there have only been like, two and a half good ones).

Poor Sakurai. Literally the TM boogeyman.
I find it weird how Reddit NA players go off on hot takes based solely on summaries and impressions of others for main chapters/interludes/events instead of just reading it themselves when most of the future important ones have been fan-translated and put up on YouTube. And if it's wanting to wait for the NA Team to translate, why not just ignore JP entirely and wait, this is a VN title, reading is the only reason to play this gacha to begin with.
Asking a TM fan to read. Lol.
LMAO even.
