Isn't that how dubbing works in JP? Outside of Tsukire getting Nasu'd, most voice roles are assigned "for life".
since its japan i wouldnt be surprised if its social/peer pressure to stick to a role forever more than it is contract clauses
and still, 20 minute Drama CD people can get recast, but 30 second TV PV, you`re in forever

It is funny that a short CM locks actors in more than drama CDs. Like I'm pretty sure the entire KnK cast had different actors in CDs before the movies.
Idk about all of Japan but it's been pretty standard for TM works in general, hasn't it? TsukiRe feels like it just got recast partly because not all of the cast is available anymore (RIP) and some might not be for much longer which is not good for setting up a new big long-lived franchise.

Technically this is the Tsukihime cast's second recast, since the anime was a different cast from Melty/Carnival.
That bit about the anime and Melty/CarniPhan having different seiyuus allowed Prisma Illya to do something quite smart: Ruby and Saphire are meant to be references to Kohaku and Hisui, down to their voices. When Miyu Matsuki died, the replacement for Saphire was Hisui's seiyuu in the Tsuki anime, thus allowing them to keep the voice reference to Hisui. Interesting case of a replaced seiyuu somewhat getting to recover her role (not quite Hisui, but as said, Saphire is suppossed to be basically Hisui as a sentient mahou shoujo stick, so it counts somewhat)

I'm Enokido, taking on the role of director. This project, Fate/strange Fake, conceptually straddles not only the other Fate works but also the TYPE-MOON universe. The Heroic Spirits and Masters who appear here are all so very anomalous. This was by no means a simple story to work on, and so two directors were summoned to see it through. You never know what will happen in a Holy Grail War. I would be delighted if we could enjoy this chaotic piece of entertainment together.
Mfw Narita throws around so many dank references they needed 2 directors to keep track of them.
The way they phrase it makes it sound like they literally summoned Cecil B. DeMille as a servant to work on this. XD
