In the same interview where Nasu discusses Part 2's potential ending, he also acknowledges that people would want a continuation, and although a continuation from the ending he had planned at the time would be "difficult", he also explicitly states that it would, in fact, be possible.
So no, I don't personally believe that at any point Nasu desired the game to end for good when Part 2 ended. It is entirely possible for say, a different protagonist to be introduced, or even for Fujimaru to still live and join a different organization and participate in a different story structure.
All we know for sure about Nasu's planned ending at that time is that it would give players a "sense of loss", and that Danganronpa V3 and Undertale's Genocide Route were explicit points of comparison. It should be noted that neither of those have a definitive ending, but they do address the idea of endings in general. DRV3 SPOILERS, and Undertale Spoilers.
His plans may or may not have changed since then but the intent, I believe, was always for there to be a possible way for FGO to keep going. Whether that be JoJo-style (new protagonist, same rules) or some other way, he was not going to shut the game down as soon as Part 2 ended.
Changing the subject a little, has no one tried to decode the Ocelomeh's speech? Japanese fans are usually on top of those things like when they figured out the Lahmu's speech on Babylonia, but I haven't seen the matter discussed.
I just watched the translated Chapter 9, and it's nice to get more crash course about Aztec's religion to understand things better. So there's a period where the sun was gone for a long time and it's dubbed as "night of terror", which seems related to Maia's presence weakened. That in turn made it easier for the people(deinos) of Mictlan to accept sacrificial ritual introduced by Tezca, due to similar circumstances behind the ritual's conception. And the cause of missing sun was unknown except maybe to Kukulkan.
And something more trivial is that the size of U-Olga's horns can be modified at will, and they're at their smallest right now.
Yeah, I can understand people not liking the fact that Ritsuka(both versions) aren't "fully realized characters"(That's primarily the case for Self-Insert characters, you don't want to make them truly unique characters so the best we get is a backstory that don't make them too special and characteristics that don't make them too unrelatable)... but there's no way in hell you can replace Ritsuka with a fully realized character and think that's gonna go over well, especially Kadoc of all people.
The entire point of Fate/Grand Order is primarily NORMAL Humans doing extraordinary things in the face of sheer insurmountable odds. Even if he is a poor Mage, Kadoc is STILL a Mage with better grasp of Magecraft, the world of Mages and everything that entails than Ritsuka ever could which would give him an advantage an ultimately normal person like Ritsuka would never have. You would also have the issue of how to get around Kadoc's issues to ultimately make him fully like Ritsuka when we still know even now he has his issues that while it would be nice to see in it's own separate story, wouldn't work with him trying to take over Ritsuka's role. He still doesn't want to summon another Servant due to him losing Anastasia, how would he get over Ritsuka basically handing over all of their Servants to him? How would the Servants feel about working under Kadoc? You would have to change so many things with Kadoc in mind, that it might as well not even be a gacha anymore and... yeah, it wouldn't work.
There ARE Gacha games that do have Stories that focus on fully realized characters(Like The Alchemist Code or War of The Visions) but what people miss was that those games was built that way from Day 1 and primarily stay that way. Games like this, Fire Emblem Heroes and otherwise wasn't built for that in mind due to the nature of how those games was built.
The only way you can really switch it up would be to make ANOTHER ultimately faceless protagonist but you run into the same problems with Kadoc but even worse(It's to the point it ultimately becomes pointless to really consider it). The best thing they can do with Part 3 is that for those who crave it is to actually give Ritsuka some real depth. The Lostbelts did give them something since that's part of the idea but even if we go into how they go with Hakuno in Fate/Extella and Extella Link and we delve into their minds, I think that would solve alot of issues people have with Ritsuka as a base. Even if it runs into the issues that we see in that game, it would still be a better positive than trying to turn something impossible and make it possible without basically just making a game specifically for that purpose instead...
That or just get the Anime/Manga version of the Events where Ritsuka can be more defined without the Self-Insert issue.

Their speech seems like a simplified version of Maya glyphs. They do seem similar in stylization to Aztec glyphs but I cannot find anything matching the ones we see in the game.
Ultimately it seems to be a generic replacement cipher if it even means anything. The Madoka runes were deciphered using Faust as a key under the assumption that the language was German and that Faust quotes would be used, but we aren't as lucky here. The best we can guess is that they might be speaking Nahuatl, but there's nothing that we can use, such as quotes, to absolutely confirm this.
Garden of Lost Will is just "I want to carry Romani's will regardless of anything". It's nothing new, LB5.2 had it too. It's what Chaldea itself is.
Oh and Oberon saying in the garden that Guda will never be "regular human" anymore, which doesn't require Sherlock to deduce. No one will be "regular" after two ends of the world and many deaths etc.

Are full horns look like Fantasy Tree?
The horns do have spiral pattern, and good indication for her connection to the Tree. It's like how Kiara's Beast form has Demon God Pillar texture as her horns, with eyes and all due to Zepar's influence.

They're also conduits for Olga channeling lightning in her Buster animation.

Throwing Fujimaru into a scenario of forced self-reflection to get characterization out of them is not gonna be around for ever, and the trick will wear out eventually. The mere fact we have to do that to know about them is indicative of the real issue at hand, and even then Kishinami Hakuno gets more done in 3 paragraphs of narration than Fujimaru Ritsuka does in both self-reflection scenes.
The issue with Fujimaru Ritsuka's lack of characterization after 7.5 years of publication is an issue that permeates from the very beggining of the game, when the decision to not have any POV narration was made. It's down to the bones of the presentation of the story. And it cannot be fixed now. Not without making the experience feel jarring. And we can't change characters because of player progress. We're stuck. Get comfortable.
burn your dread you coward
the conclusion i took from the interview is that Nasu has permision to do something drastic after the end of Part 2, and every relevant party signed off on it.
now the fact that we dont believe this to be the ability to turn off the game is because we are whipped under the power of the almighty dollar and greed and as a result we refuse to believe it.
but that drastic thing could be killing the main-character and force the massive re-writes people say they arent gonna do. New status quo part 3, its completely disconnected from part 1 and 2 so you dont need pre-reqs for anything and rewrite the valentine scenes
On a completely unrelated note I had a look-see at the Rayshift translation of Kirei's rundown on the Aztecs.
I'm sorry everyone, but I'm going to have to cancel Tepeu for primitivizing the Aztecs.
And that would be business suicide, as I already pointed out. Every time there's a clash between the money and the principle, always bet on the money.
Besides, if it's that disconnected then why make it part of the same game at all? (See also the big post I made about why this would be a catastrophic failure.)

Nasu doesn't really need to kill Ritsuka for this to happen. After the PHH is restored, so is UN and MA. This is gonna be Part 1 aftermath all over again - world losing a huge period of time without knowing what happened and blaming it all on Chaldea. Except if origins of Alien God indeed lie inside CHALDEAS then they kinda have a point.Nasu: I aim to make a game where you can feel proud for having experienced it despite carrying this huge sense of loss in you. And then I want to deliver, in the best way possible, the “what comes after” that no one could have predicted. That’s the future Kinoko Nasu would be putting his efforts on.
Combine it with the fact that our original HQ is trashed, Wandering Sea replica gone, and Storm Border cant function properly when PHH is fine and there are like 8 members of Chaldea still alive... Chaldea is pretty much done. Ritsuka would have his records wiped and go in hiding to avoid getting MA's attention on top of dealing with PTSD and knowing he will never see any of his friends again (Da Vinci dead, Mash ascended to the Throne with the rest of Servants, Goredolf and Kadoc arrested by MA provided they live at all past the final battle).
But hey, the world is saved and Ritsuka gets to stay alive, so it's all fine, right?
