The Hiroden Project
The magnum opus of one Kiiro Shibusawa. The Shibusawa family specialize in producing Mystic Codes that assimilate and replace a part of the body. These mystic codes essentially force their wielders into the form of a “specialist” - as the mystic code’s intimate ties to the body hampers its ability to perform any other kinds of magecraft, in exchange for making the mystic code much more efficient at its designed function - as it has the support of the entire body behind it.
Kiiro Shibusawa was the truest “genius” of his family. None paralleled his skill in terms of making the family’s signature mystic codes - in both their efficiency at their designed functions and their ability to assimilate into their hosts.
In an effort to push his skills to the limit, Kiiro designed a series of Mystic Codes based around the Four Symbols - The Azure Dragon, the Vermillion Phoenix, the White Tiger, and the Black Tortoise. He then took four children: his daughter’s recently orphaned best friend, his daughter, and two twin orphans. He crafted these Mystic Codes with these recipients in mind, and then introduced them at a young age - in order that the Mystic Codes could truly become a part of their hosts in an unprecedented manner. He dubbed this endeavor, "The Hiroden Project".

Mystic Code: Skeletal Byakko
The Mystic Code “belonging” to Jai Shinriki. While Jai can be described as Skeletal Byakko’s “owner”, it would be more accurate to describe the Mystic Code as being “a part of him”. As with all Mystic Codes created by the Shibusawa family, what begins as a simple “implant” eventually consumes the part of the body it is meant to replace. In the case of Skeletal Byakko, the Mystic Code eventually grew to devour and replace Jai’s entire skeletal system.
There are two crucial functions of Skeletal Byakko:
The Conversion of Nutrients in Mana and Vice Versa
The use of [Reinforcement] on itself and the rest of the body
Skeletal Byakko could, in a sense, be described as a “software manager” for the body. Regardless of the body’s condition, Skeletal Byakko will use [Reinforcement] as a way to manage the body’s processes in order to make sure it achieves [the peak of what it is able].
As a testament to Shibusawa’s talent, this included upgrades to the Mystic Code itself - Skeletal Byakko eventually becoming an organic metal much stronger than typical human bones even without active reinforcement via magecraft. Of course, the same applies to the rest of Jai’s body, with muscles that are capable of far beyond what a normal human can produce.
Skeletal Byakko also enables extremely safe use of active [Reinforcement] on the whole body - enabled by the fact that the Mystic Code’s impact on the body is already omnipresent. This allows Jai to sharpen his already spectacular physical and healing abilities to even greater heights in short bursts.
In short, thanks to [Skeletal Byakko] Jai Shinriki can be described as possessing a body that is both “easy to reinforce” and “constantly being reinforced”.
As is typical of a Shibusawa style Mystic Code, the growth of Jai’s body being oriented around one particular kind of Magecraft (Reinforcement), has limited its ability to perform other sorts of magecraft without outside aid.

History
Jai Shinriki does not remember his youth well.
To him, it is something that exists only in broad strokes.
He remembers he had a sister. He remembers her name was Kai.
He remembers looking out for her as best he could.
Jai doesn’t remember what their original surname was. But he does remember that they didn’t have parents. They were eventually taken in by Kiiro Shibusawa.
And that was when the pain started.
The four children chosen for the Hiroden Project received their respective Mystic Codes as soon as Shibusawa had them ready - Jai would receive the Skeletal Byakko - which started as a replacement for his Lumbar Vertebrae, and would expand to consume the rest of his spine within the month. [Skeletal Byakko] would fully assume the role of “Jai Shinriki’s Skeleton” by the end of his first year under Shibusawa’s care.
As an eventual “reject” Shibusawa did not see the value in holding on to, Jai’s memories would be tampered with and he would be given to another family (The Shinrikis) to be raised in a “normal” manner.
However, in spite of the general fog over his memories, he would maintain one distinct memory, as clear as polished crystal.

There was no way Jai could have had the words to describe what he felt.
He was young, with little life experience and little realm of comparison for anything. He hadn’t lived enough to understand what pain looked like, only what it felt like.
Skeletal Byakko consumed his bones, his body tried to repel this foreign substance, but even as his body acted in defense it was being conditioned to accept the mystic code as no different from itself.
But worse was the hunger.
It was simple math that Jai could not understand. [Skeletal Byakko] had much more work to do than any other of the Four Symbols Mystic Codes. It consumed Magic Energy and nutrients alike at a desperate rate to continue its progress.
Shibusawa would never allow a piece of his Magnum Opus to perish of something as avoidable as starvation, but what was necessary was not enough to dull the stress of the changes.
“Hey. Hey.”
One of the other Hiroden Children was poking Jai on the shoulder. She had the same blonde hair Shibusawa did. She was his daughter by blood, so it only made sense - not that it saved her from ending up here with everyone else. Her movements were shaky and the remnants of tears glistened on her face. She had received a Mystic Code to replace her heart rather than her skeleton.
Less energy intensive, no less painful.
“You look sad. Take this.”
She left some of the food she had been given next to Jai.
It became a trend. She’d eat a little less and Jai would eat a little more.
Eventually, Jai’s pain settled into something more bearable, and even later than that, three of the four Hiroden children would be discarded.
But the feelings surrounding those events froze them in Jai’s mind, as if entrapped in anger.
There was no way Jai could have described the emotions he felt for that girl.
He was young, with little life experience and little realm of comparison for anything.
But as Byakko grew, he realized what that emotion was, or at least what it had become.
He would love that girl until the day he died.

Jai was given a relatively normal life by the Shinriki’s, just as Shibusawa had hypnotized them to. It was a basic life. Sometimes he would be teased for getting into “childish” things late, but his athletic prowess and laid-back demeanor led to a level of acceptance from his peers.
By some miracle, he was able to keep in touch with one of the other Hiroden Children, Ryotaro Mochizuki - who had received the Ocular Seiryu Mystic Code. Jai knew that Ryotaro’s memories of their times with Shibusawa were clearer than his own, but he never pushed the topic.
Those memories, as far as Jai was concerned, would only matter if Jai met that girl again.
…
No, that was not the truth.
While that girl was important to Jai, there was another important person to him.
His sister.
The only one of them deemed worthy of further resources by Kiiro Shibusawa, and kept by his side.
Even through his tampered memories, Jai remembered Kai clearly. She was back in that mountain home, and he was living a normal life.
No matter how much Jai appreciated his normalcy, as a brother, the sting of “abandoning” his sister was omnipresent.
But, he did not know where that mountain home was, and Ryotaro couldn’t answer him either. So it seemed any solution was out of his grasp.
So perhaps a basic normal life was all that was possible for Jai. He graduated high school with unremarkable but not poor grades, entering a low level college while working odd jobs. Perhaps that would be Jai Shinriki's fate. A discarded project living a normal life he was content with.

On the Prowl
--May the Hunt Begin--But that was not what fate had in-store for the white tiger.
One day, Ryotaro returned with news. He knew where Shibusawa would be, and where Shibusawa was, his sister would probably be there too. As would that girl.
But it wasn’t simply a matter of location, it was a matter of event. A “Holy Grail War” - a competition of summoning heroic spirits of the past and using them to fight to the death for a wish.
It would be extremely dangerous.
Even if everything went perfectly, a return to the normal life Jai appreciated so dearly would be impossible.
But Jai accepted Ryotaro’s offer of joining without missing a beat.
This was a chance that Jai would have never turned down. A chance to act on every emotion he had been unable to act upon for so long.
And so Jai Shinriki left Japan, set to participate in the Griffeture Great Holy Grail War.

Creator's Notes

- A sheet I was pretty shy about actually posting up, tbh
- Honestly, I'm still a little reserved, Skeletal Byakko was really hard to figure out how to make work, and I feel I might have still missed the landing
- Regardless, this is a bit different than the sheets I normally post. Most of the time - espesially for contest sheets - I like to give a glimpse at a character's whole story and arc.
- Jai, meanwhile, is more of a "primer" style sheet. A sheet whose primary purpose is meant to provide a peak into a possible story - hence why it hints at or implies other plot elements.
- Jai was sort of made to be a foil to Auge. There both young men who could easily fit into a "protagonisty" archetype, but where Auge is a hot-blooded, offensively focused fighter with all the big dreams and middling intelligence of a typical shonen hero, Jai's comparatively laid-back, is more centered on survivability, and his "seemingly normal guy with some capital S Shit going on" is meant to be a bit more VN adjacent.

A Lake Still.

Once upon a time, there was a fairy. She was made by her mother to take care of a small lake, and that being all she knew, she put all her effort into it. She made sure it was visited by all sorts of animals, made sure to scare any person who dared to get close, and made sure it was hidden from them when they came back in groups. Though she didn't know why she had to take care of that lake, she nonetheless did it, for a long, long time (ask Siena more about her life to continue this) (reminder: finish this section!!) (reminder: find out how to make Siena talk more about it)

One day, she realized that it was impossible to keep hiding from all the people all the time, and she noticed that all the spirits of the forest were leaving one by one to the land of fairies. She didn't think it was a good idea to leave the lake behind since the Lake Fairy that was her Great Mother asked her to take care of it. She didn't know where to find the Great Mother, who was surely taking care of much larger and more important lakes, so she just swam as deep as she could and kept taking care of the lake from down there.

As the days went by, she continued to see people coming and going from the lake, always thinking of how she wished she could walk free and be among them, find love, find happiness damn she almost saw me writing this

Marian Apparitions.

Okay, seriously now.
After waiting so long at the bottom of the lake, she was no longer able to hold onto her form and mind. With the expansion of human common sense, she was fated to fade away due to her refusal to leave for her sacred land. Her fate was overturned by none other than Our Lady of Laus. The Virgin Mary herself appeared to the citizens of the town built next to the lake, attracting attention with her blessings. As the church kept visiting the town to verify the Marian Apparitions which occurred so frequently for 54 years, eventually an agent of the Assembly of the Eighth Sacrament who was among them recognized her remnants among the waters touched by The Mother of God.

She was preserved and brought back into the Church, remade to fit its objectives and put to work for them. This might be the only thing I can get Siena to talk about, but she really doesn't seem to mind it. I think she likes being forced to choose something else besides the lake. "Work for us or you'll be eliminated", "Restrict your abilities only to what's accepted by the Church or die", "Help us find your kin or be destroyed", these harsh non-choices for her seem to be salvation. I have no idea why she finds it so satisfying to live by that, but with how strict and commited to it she is, my only choice is to admit she really does. Really, when they told me I'd be taking a talking firetruck to deal with that village full of ghouls, I didn't expect to find an agent much more commited to the teachings than me!

She really doesn't open up, but on this at least I managed to get a comment, even if she didn't use her own words. "Joshua 24:15, But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord." So she says.

Abilities.

She's just the best accountant one could ask for, who knew a fairy would even understand this much about money?!
What else? She has very good taste in clothes even if she doesn't care at all about her own, so I always get her opinion before going out. She's loyal but understanding. She only tries to kill me, like, once a week. Honestly just a great partner all around for a guy like me. Oh! Combat abilities too, right.

What was left of the fairy found in Saint-Étienne-le-Laus, France, was fused to a mystic code meant to bless water en masse. The technology inside her allows Siena to bless water at over a 15 liters a second and at an 18000 PSI, turning her into a legitimate weapon capable of devastating hordes of undead with holy water.

Red Burst.

Siena's self-developed alternative usage of Black Keys. Despite her transformation, she still finds it unconfortable to touch the blades of a Black Key and can't bring herself to improve her aim, so she makes up for it with speed and numbers.
Her internal storage contains dozens of Black Keys with sharpened pommels. Instead of using magical energy to mannifest blades, she uses her massive magical energy capacity to fill them with much more than necessary, causing a burst of energy to come out instead of a blade. She uses those to shoot the keys out at incredible speeds, piercing targets with the pommel themselves.

Baptism Mode.

Her true robotic body. Taking the shape of a mobile Virgin Mary altar, she uses bursts of water to float above the ground and expels highly concentrated jets of holy water through her hands. Through prayer power expenditure, she can even convert the humidity of the air around her at impressive rates, guaranteeing she never runs out of water.
The body is also outfitted with multiple consecrated firearms and is draped in the Shroud of Benedict, capable of cutting off all of the target's senses.

More seriously, Siena is a fun character. Any chance for more folk Christianity showing its face in the Church is a benefit, in my opinion. Siena experiencing syncretism with Mary aligns very much with the Black Madonna back in Gray's hometown actually being Morgan, but I have to assume it's a pretty widespread phenomenon too.
Replacing a fairy's common sense/rule set with the Church's own admonitions is probably my favorite bit, good luck Mr. Anonymous Interviewer.

Profile An averagely built, average Japanese high school girl that is averagely bored from the average life she had. She goes to an average high school, and her scores are equally average, and she talks about average things such as celebrities and recent events. Energetic yet apathetic at the same time, the girl decided to take a visit to the moonlit world, in hope so she could escape the average world that was unable to move her heart. No matter how one tries to describe Aori’s life, there is nothing special about her average life to write home about. Yet, that’s what she yearns to have the most. To be a person that can experience her life like others normally do, a life with unpredictability that could potentially be hazardous to herself or open an unknown future. A person that is capable of crying or happy without planning to do so in advance. That is Aori’s definition of ‘average life.’ Aori is blessed with the rare ESP ability dubbed by Luvia as Blue Archive - Samsara Skip, in which she possesses a special channel in her brain where it can capture lights lightyears more far than a normal person, an astral projection of the Soul to experience the future. Whenever she accesses this channel, she can consciously access information of her potential future selves, including the experience she shares with others and use that information for her benefits. As long as she doesn’t peek too far, her brain would be able to handle the information overload she gains. However, this comes with a demerit. Due to knowing what will happen in the future and what she should avoid, her life becomes extremely boring as a result. As anything life can offer, she simply can take a peek to the future before anyone else, making her unable to connect with her peers. And she always does, at the slightest interest, at the slightest inconvenience, and at the slightest fear, and then disappoint herself immediately after. An ability so scarily similar to Blue - the Fifth Magician, who also happens to cross paths with Aori in a cafe where they bumped. Aori, who is suddenly curious about the beautiful girl, looks at their possible future on a whim. She learns about a hidden magical world that is pretty similar to the light novel she has read. She learns there is a wedding where powerful magicians gather to attend like the manga she has read. She learns that there is a heist to capture the bride just like the movie she has watched. For the first time since so long, she finally felt a genuine and powerful excitement in her heart. After all, magic is real! Superpower is real! Freaks that possess something else like her exist! A world where, with all these supernatural phenomena, could turn her into an average person! An average person where she has so little control of her own future, just like everyone else! And so Aori immediately opened her wallet and took a flight to England without much planning, and arrived at Edelfelt’s residence to apply for an exciting part time job! -------------------------------------------- <Annica - The Unchangeable Past> Annica - The Unchangeable Past This is a story that happened a few years ago. Back then, Aori enjoyed the attention she got when she discovered her power. By looking to the future, she is suddenly at the top of her class, everyone notices her, and her predictions about the latest drama are always scarily on point. Boys and girls alike seem to be eager to be her friends, including the boy she liked. Naturally, Aori is curious about the future of her parents, so she decided to take a peek at their future. And there, she saw the horrible fate of their happy family. When she saw the future where they all died from a boat accident during a family trip. She was so devastated about this future, she cried for nights, and had no motivation to go to school. But Aori is not that weak of a girl, eventually she founds her courage to move forward, and decided to try as hard as she can to stop this terrible fate. “It isn’t like fate can’t be changed, you know? I managed to ace those tests by peeking into the future, after all.” At that time, her parents were extremely excited about the trip, as they have been planning this trip for years. They know Ao-chan loves the color blue the most, so they wanted to bring her to the ocean. But no matter how hard she tried to convince them to not go, they never listened. It was forecasted that there would be no storm or typhoon during their trip, and they chose a high-class boat trip to ensure the quality. In their perspective, her fears are extremely baseless, and she was sent to a psychiatrist by her parents when she resorted to a mental breakdown to convince them. Even after she told them about her power, they dismissed it as her living in a childish fantasy. Learning that they will never listen, she decided to try to sabotage the entire trip. She begins to cause various problems at home such as deflating her father’s cars, breaking their water systems, and causing fire hazard at the kitchen in hope to distract them, but all of them are quickly solved with money. She tries to learn about the boat company’s secret and finds out about a massive fraud case they had, but even after reporting them no action is being done. She tried to cause problems at the harbor but realized there is virtually nothing she can do against its security. And so, the day for the trip has almost arrived. She tried one last attempt to persuade her beloved parents to not to go, crying with everything she had, with every emotion within her heart, so they will stay with her forever. She thought, if logic doesn’t work, surely her heart that has been forged with their mutual and familial love will reach them, right? But they don’t listen. They went on the trip as planned. During the day the accident happened, she tried to call their phones. She still had hopes, that maybe, things will be different… But they never picked up, perhaps can’t. A few days later, the news reported about a luxury ship accident. And when she saw it to confirm her parents fate… “Told you,” she doesn’t cry at all.

But even those magical wonders are unable to move her heart, she simply saw other confusing subjects similar to her science classes. Nothing that her future vision can’t fix, nothing that can subvert her expectations. Humans will always be, no matter how strong and mystical, be overwhelmed by circumstances that they can’t control. However, she was indeed being pushed to the limits, and ended up doing things she wasn’t expected to do, using her own ability beyond the future power of hers. What’s the odd that her baseball hobby ends up helping her to throw a perfect pitch to defeat the violent step-sister of Miss Luvia? How about when the shooting training she does on the Edelfelt mansion ends up saving her and her friends multiple times? Or the things her friends gifted to her managed to save her life against a magus that fought with his imagination alone? How is she able to change the mind of the groom whom she befriended and his doomed mother, simply by talking with her heart out? And how… the future selves she thought to be inevitable ends up pushing herself to make a choice that alters the destiny of those around her for the better? All this time, she was under the impression that her power means the painful future can’t be changed, that no matter how hard she tries, destiny will arrive all the same as if conspiring to her. She now understood, if her ability is to channel all the future she had walked, there is nothing stopping her to walk on a new future that she hasn't walked yet. An unseen future that none of her future self has walked, using all the information from her own selves to make a choice that this version of herself will love and never regret. And that choice is to become someone that can save those even in the most critical moment. The passionless Aori is determined to become a surgeon that could even operate destiny. This is this Aori’s Future Blue . This is this Aori’s Memories of Destiny Archive . Even if she now walked a different path from Luvia and her friends from that marriage… if they ever needed her: “I will come there!” Aori will once again immediately open her wallet and take a flight to England without much planning, and arrive at Edelfelt’s residence to apply for an exciting part time job!

Creator's Note

One of the four player characters in Pine's incredible Bride Heist RP. Aori is a character that created with both pragmatism and story potential in mind.

The pragmatism came from the fact that this is my first 'voice RP' instead of pbp, and I know that I have some form of public speaking anxiety, so her unfazed and dispassionate charaterization means to ease myself in case that I am incapable to speak my mind. While I think that I'm still too scared to voice myself all the time, I think I managed to voice her in more critical and dramatic moments.

For the story potential, I thought that a girl that desperately trying to move on being in a marriage story is fitting. She is also someone that means to be ironic, a girl that can see the future, yet has been frozen in time ever since her parents' death. And generally, someone mundane being thrown into a magical world is fun.

In the climax of the story, Aori managed to access her 'bluelight self' and become strong enough to keep up with her more magical friends. This form is temporary, and I think Pine's means this to be her Counter Guardian future self. However, she decided to walk a path that different than that version of herself, to be someone that can save people without sacrificing herself, just like the words she had said to Hanah, and she has no intention to be a hypocrite. Therefore, she decided to be a surgeon, instead of a superhero that walk the path of hurting forever.

As for her future self she keeps on seeing, I like to imagine it is her future self trying to guide her to walk a different path by giving her information she had in the future. And I like to imagine, when she talks cruely during that moment, and present Aori rejected her words, she smiles and cried.

The Blue Archive part is originally just a dumb reference, but it becomes prophetic when she wields a pistol and managed to score multiple feats with it.
