Technically, he is more broadly on the Esper side of Lawful Evil.
He is definitely white in motivation and way of thinking, but his methods are murder, tactical espionage, and time magic, which is totally UB. Also usage of magic technnology, which is artifice, that falls into the UW part of Esper.
Kind of also feels like he would have to be more open and honest a person to be pure white, anyway. He is white without question, but he kinda misses all the nicer parts of white.

Because his card came super late when he already EMBRACED HIS DESTINY (seriously I have no idea what the fuck drove them to make him monowhite)

Now explain why karn isn't blue!
^^Don't mourn for him, most of his cards aside from the Gerrard card itself are white, or WR.
Or WB, which is strange, because Dega is all about oomph, he doesn't have that.

You know, in the future block Return of Phyrexieldrazislivers - IT'SHABBENING - BOLAS WINS, there is definitely going to be a Karn card, and it will be rainbow.
Aside from him, the only rainbow colored planeswalkers were Jeska and Urza, both of whom are special even for planeswalkers.
I want them to do dumb time fuckery and give some old walkers the cards they deserve. A flashback block or something, idgaf if the cards are only supposed to be used on Neowalkers because Planeswalkers are literal gods. I just want them.
(Would be fun, after Artifact Matters and Enchantment Matters, Planeswalker Matters. I know it's never going to happen because the card type has the smallest design space of them all but hey)

By the way, just two days after him being spoiled, everyone is already calling Xenogas Xenosaga.
Who's to blame them, too?

And now a 1R Lightning Bolt.
UR god's name confirmed for Keranos. Wonder how devotion is going to work for those.
Also Rageblood Shaman is amazing, Fleecemane Lion is retardedly good, and I am appreciating Ashiok more and more. He is definitely not constructed playable at all, in mainboard at least, but he is going to be so much fun in EDH and casuals.

*shrug*
I appreciate top-down design. More than most, probably, because I'm in Magic for the art, DotP and the worlds, in approximately that order. Playability isn't really a concern. And Theros so far shows strong hallmarks of flavour-based, top-down design.
But, having been swayed back and forth on the "they're pulling words straight out of a dictionary, this is dumb" argument, I'm falling back into irritation at Creative's laziness on that front. There's also the feeling that this is still a fairly shallow portrayal of mythical Greece, as it were; a feeling I imagine could be assuaged by the coming sets, but I'm not sure will be. Shallow by comparison to a Greats student's view, so certainly OK for the general market, but I can dream.
For example, there's an incredible amount of interweaving in Greek myth. Apollodoros' Library follows a single family per book, and covers vast swathes of our known legendary Greek tales (we have just three mostly-complete books from that work). Theros is much more granular, divided, which manages to detract simultaneously from the grandeur of real Greek myth - the sense of an epic scale, a million stories making up one single, huge tapestry - and from the verisimilitude conjured by knowing that you can trace all these family trees, meticulously planned out (and debated over). I have to reserve some judgement for the whole block to be complete, but I don't see them making this up.
Meanwhile: people noticed that Beyer was careful not to use overtly gendered terms on Ashiok's profile, and asked him.
Q:So is Ashiok, Nightware Weaver a male or a female? And what race does he/she belong to?

Would knowing that be more comforting to you?
ASHIOK IS NOT ABOUT COMFORTING KNOWLEDGE.

It's UB and not a fairy so it's a dude.
