Why does a R/W card grant Stampede?

I mean I get that R is kind of secondary in trample but still pretty weird. Heroic looks like a cool mechanic, wonder if there'll be an opportunity to do really dumb shit with Grapeshot with it. Monstrous doesn't really give me anything, adding counters once a game plus effect probably just needs a few cooler cards.

    This is really embarassing.

Anyway, it really shows that the same people that done Innistrad are doing this. Us vs. Them set, vague ruling for the sake of looking nice on the card("becomes monstrous" is a lot like the "continues to burn" errata), interesting play with enchantments.

Ordeal of Purphurous looks really interesting in particular. Consider what "when you sacrifice it" really means.

There is potential for Monstrosity, though, since it offers a new take on the Rootwalla-like creatures and Echo. It just needs to not be terrible like Palunkratos, a 5/5 for 4.

Also while heroic is secondary in enchantment supporting I still kind of need that enchantment keyword Wizards. You know you have one.

Remember when 4/4 for 4 with an average effect made people piss their pants (it was that Thallid)

Good times (not that I don't like the creature power increase, sometimes I feel like I am the only one that does)

Just give me curses back please.

Name it a blessing and playable only on you or something, whatever.

Curses are really flavorful. Using them feels good.

Oh and Blastoderm is still pretty good. Would draft in a haste or bounce heavy environment. Fires of Yavimaya, good times.

I never liked weird auras, felt like it was just another way to make subtype-less enchantments have no niche (hell there are even colored artifacts now what are they even here for, they don't even tap)

Enchantments are generally weaker, and harder to deal with(if global), or stronger, and easier to deal with(if local).

They are mechanically the same as artifacts, but you could also say a land is just an artifact with CMC0 that usually taps for mana.

Because you are. Things like the phyrexian obliterator are just too dumb.

Obliterator also requies you to play monoblack, or heavy dual lands. You basically only have to let Obliterator go through if you play Gruul or something.

Although siding in Blood Feud and using it to make his Nantuko Shade fight his Obliterator is one of the most hilarious moves I can imagine being played in Magic, so...

Obliterator would have been fine without trample but even with it he didn't see too much play because of his dumb mana cost in a 3 color environment.

It's nice to see creatures that cost 4CMC or more without ETB LTB or sac actually see play is what I mean. Would have been unthinkable only a few sets ago.

I never liked how they basically took spells and made them creatures with abilities instead. I liked it better when you had spell oriented control decks and creature decks too. You had a balance, whereas now it's just different variations of creatures.

Battle doesn't need a purpose; the battle is its own purpose. You don't ask why a plague spreads or a field burns. Don't ask why I fight.

    Wat.

Baneslayer the mascot of the so called power creep would like to talk to you. It's more like creatures that werent also spells were useless unless they were cheap as shit and thus viable to get put before turn 4 wrath. You got things moxed up.

    Theros fluff, part one

Nice that they rip off the actual Greek lore instead of going full Disney.
Erebus is pretty chill. Black is going to be the good guys in this set, calling it now.

    Pretty much, yeah. Living Enchantment.

Hopefully it won't be the same as Living Weapon.

I'd forgotten that that was a thing.

So yeah. Just creatures with "enchantment" added. And a higher mana cost.

The multiple Kithkin saged the entire Lorwyn block.
Phosphorescent Feast foretold the Chroma mechanic.
Sarcomite Myr foreshadowed Esper's colored Artifacts.
Bloodshot trainee was IN the second Mirrodin block.
Ghostfire was INTEGRAL to the Zendikar set.
Nacatl War-Pride was a precursor to the Nayan Nacatl.

Look to Future Sight for the new possibilities of the mechanics of future blocks.
