Nice! I think I'm starting to catch on too.

My first Sealed pool was a total 0-3 trainwreck. The pool was pretty bad IMO, I tried different ways to build it and they all sucked.

Next I went 2-3 with a mediocre Grixis pool, lots of removal but few ways to close the game or get card advantage.

Then I went 4-3 with a pretty strong UG pool in which I got greedy and splashed white for removal, lost a couple games to mana screw.

After that, in my fourth attempt, I 7-2'd with 15-land UR spells, no rares (well, just Temple of Epiphany). Admittedly I was super lucky to draw one of my good 2 drops in almost every game, and using my combination of tempo and reach to close games. Some pretty memorable games too; I won a game without cards left in the library, and in the last game I beat Baneslayer into Garruk. GG, would play again.



The deck was super clunky with 7 five drops but I didn't have other cheap cards worth a damn (maybe one of those should be a land, and indeed it would be if I didn't have the Temple)

I also played a Premier draft with the saved token from IKO mastery pass, it was a mediocre Malefic Scythe BR beatdown/sac deck (I raredrafted which didn't help). Went 2-3.

Next Sealed I thought I had a pretty good WG counters deck, went 1-3 against what felt like several busted decks in a row.

Now, I am the demons the busted deck. I've opened a white-blue pool that's just OBSCENE. Let's see how it goes.

Busted white-blue pool got to 7-0 and no game was close. I think I hit peak M21, now I feel a bit dirty.

Look all those fine playables rotting in the sideboard!

- Super solid beatdown curve with plenty of good two drops, anthem and 9 fliers
- Removal that matches up well against the beefy creatures that could otherwise bother us
- Don't let Baneslayer fool you, 3x Seasoned Hallowblade is by far the most busted part of the deck
- NOOOO YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO PLAY MORE THAN 40 CARDS!! haha busted deck go brrrr
- I even had room for card draw!

After a few mediocre ones, 7-2 with another Sealed deck that seemed like a draft deck, even though I badly punted away a match.

That card is not as powerful as you think. If you are not targeting some kind of utility land, you are just paying 2 mana to tap a land and draw a card. At sorcery speed.

Paying 2 mana to tap some guy's only dual land at t4-5 is worth the cost on its own, depending on the matchup.

EDIT: I just read the card you were referring to (assume you mean Cleansing Wildfire). This is great against not only dual-colored decks but it can potentially ruin the day for several control types that need specific amounts of mana left open on their turn, even if they're running a mono-color deck or only have basics out. Anyone using dual lands will just cry (especially if its a painland. ESPECIALLY against RDW).

I see people playing mana bases in standard/historic with zero basics (even with field of ruin about).

They're going to want to stop doing that if Cleansing Fire is being used.

Also, Cleansing Fire + Confounding Conundrum is brutal. That card was a mistake.

The Zendikar release in Arena is being a dumpster fire for me with constant disconnects and unresponsive servers

But I still managed to 7-2 my first sealed with boros beats nyohoho

The maul is a silly card, but it only won me 1 game. The rest were good old curveouts.

Second Sealed: 7-1 with Mardu. Got super lucky with the mana

Third Sealed: red-white again, this time scrubbed out 1-3

Projected rare completion: around 213 out of 256 rares (this set has so many fucking rares! I would already be done in a normal sized set)

My best decks were all aggro decks or midrange fliers decks. It seems quite easy to run over greedy people in this format.

Wow! I wish I'd been tracking how many sealed runs I did. I did at least three yesterday but it's been about a week since I last played so I can't remember before that.

White seems insanely strong in this sealed format, though.

It has the best common party payoffs and fliers. Sometimes you get a clerics or warriors tribal package and that's about the strongest deck you can get.

Sometimes blue-red sneaks in, but IMO most aggressive Sealed decks want to be white. Black red can be great but it's rare for it to end up being very aggressive in Sealed.

Rogues are badly understatted, while red-green lacks evasion and isn't very fast.

The common red removal suite is superb too.

Any experience with Draft? I haven't played it yet, nor have I seen any content. I imagine Warriors and Clerics will be pretty strong there too, but stuff like Landfall, Rogues, Kicker or the like should be easier to put together.

It seems I ran out of luck BTW, as did 5 more sealed with the results of 2-3, 3-3, 3-3, 1-3 and 4-3. Doing my last Sealed, which for a first is going to be BG! Which means I've done all of the combinations except Blue-Black.

White has also some strong landfall pay-offs - flappy bird, the gerboa, the sovereign. Also I've had Felidar Retreat twice in my pools and it has been insane everytime I've played it or against it.

Haven't touched draft, I basically never do until sealed goes away. I wonder how aggressively the quick draft bots will go for white's pay-offs...

If that's the case, it's pretty neat, but it's still a 3-drop that's only legal in Legacy/Vintage/Commander.

Unlikely to break anything IMO (not being Lurrus or Monastery Mentor), although it could make for
